While we were unsure about the drive and area we were amazed upon seeing the view! The stars at night were a great end to the days. Clean, quiet and relaxing, just what we were looking for.

The views from this property are amazing! Property is very clean and has everything you need. We will plan to go back sometime. The owners were great to work with, very informative of all of the information you need and answered any questions we had while there quickly. We highly recommend!

To be completely honest, the view is so amazing its tough to leave the deck and experience the rest of the island! We had a great time at SMS. Stayed 1st week of March, so it was WINDY, but the temps were still in the mid 80s. Pool was a tad too chilly for us, however hot tub was very nice. Word of caution, there is zero need to adjust the hot tub above 92 degrees. It was at 87 when we arrived and I figured it was like ours at home, NOPE, 102 is way TOO HOT. You definitely need a Jeep or Bronco as road to house can be rough, although one of the neighbors was doing a nice job of grading it while we were there. Driving on right is really no big deal, and becomes second nature rather quickly. Do EXPLORE the island, Reef Bay is beautiful, last mile back can be daunting for those not in shape. Denis Beach is a nice short hike and we had the entire beach to ourselves. We avoided all the popular beaches so I can't comment on them i.e. Maho, Cinnamon. Annaberg is beautiful, as well as Rams Head. If it's in your budget I would highly recommend chartering a private boat to go over to BVI, ecspecially Jost. We also did a Sunset cruise out of the Weston which was very nice. Tried off shore fishing but the wind and the season were not in our favor, i'd save that for late spring or summer visit. Restaurants are few on this side of island, we found the selection at Calabash Market to be great and cooked at the house a few nights. Skinny Legs makes great drinks/bar food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and since this was our first visit to St. John, we were not sure what to expect. This property is the perfect place to stay as it not only has the best view on Coral Bay, it is a quiet retreat if out sightseeing the busier spots on the island. The sunrises were amazing! The flower garden setting felt like home. It had all the amenities we could want and we felt like it was home away from home. We are appreciative of folks that look forward to sharing their lovely homes. We want to come back! Linda and Brian

Loved our stay at Sun Moon Stars! We had beautiful weather and enjoyed the many beaches on the island. Loved all the snorkeling spots and all the different land and water creatures we encountered. The home was very welcoming and perfect for my husband and I. Loved the views and the breezes, that didn’t make it feel as hot as it was. The driving was crazy, but it was a learning curve, as it was our first time to the island. By the end of the week we were loving it! We plan to return, likely next time with our grown children. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home on st John!

This house is perfect for a couple looking to spend a relaxing vacation on St. John. The directions to the house and the check in process were as smooth as could be. There was a minor issue with the gas for the stove that was resolved in a matter of hours. The air conditioning in the bedroom and the breeze from the porch doors made the house very comfortable. We had everything we needed to explore the beaches and hikes of the island, but importantly we loved our days in the pool/hot tub and lounging on the deck. We would love to go back.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Sun, Moon & Stars. The location was an adventure to get up to but once there you can't beat the views and the amenities! We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, laying outside day/night, grilling and just taking in the scenes. Everything was clean, tidy and enjoyable. thank you guys for a relaxing, fun stay!

We've been to St John 5 times, and this was far and away the best property for a couple we have rented, the pictures don't do it justice, just beautiful. The covered deck is bigger than it looks in the pictures and full shade from mid-morning on. The road up to the house is better than it has been in the past, they keep finishing more sections, we had stayed at properties up the same hill previously. Just a great place, thanks

We stayed at Sun Moon and Stars twice before; once in 2007 and then in 2009. Going back 14 years later, we were afraid things had changed and we wouldn't love it as much. We were relieved to see everything just as beautiful as we remembered. The villa has all the comforts of home and total privacy. The view is impossible to describe. It is without a doubt my favorite vacation spot. The stars at night will blow you away, and the sunrise in the morning is the perfect way to start a day.

The villa, the view, the quiet location, the breeze, the fun drive up- it is all great! Never needed to use the A/C, cooked steaks on the grill one night, hot tub almost every night. My wife did get a few bug bites, but I did not. Pizza and staff were great at the Salty Mongoose. Skinny legs was delicious and fun. Discovered Hansen Bay on this trip.

All of the other reviews are absolutely correct. This place far exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect villa to spend our 10 year anniversary! Amazing views, everything you need is there and it’s on the slower quieter side of the island! Very private. If you’re even thinking about booking this villa, just do it! You will not regret it!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Sun, moon, stars! Such a nice little secluded paradise in St. John. Road up to the house is a little rough, but we rented a Bronco and it was able to tackle the climb no problem.

Nothing short of perfect !
Outstanding villa- the owners thought of just about everything - extra blankets, fans in some of the rooms, well stocked kitchen, fun floaties for the pool and great guide books to review.
The view from the patio is spectacular- almost unreal .
Would come back if we get the chance .

Beautiful spot!! Breeze was wonderful.
Our experience was wonderful. Ride your the mountain was a little trickie but once you did it a few times ok. Wish the cupboards were cleaner on the outside . But it was very beautiful.

Amazing view
Can’t say enough about the house and the VIEW!!! The wind was super intense and at times it was even cold, but the view, can’t say enough. Loved being in Coral Bay, near Miss Lucy’s, Salt Pond, Salty Mongoose (best pizzas) and Skinny Legs.

beautiful villa
We loved our stay at SMS (and the Coral Bay area) in late January/early February. The living area is nice and comfortable, but the patio/pool/views are what make this place really stand out. Since we were staying for a few weeks, we were lucky to be able spend entire days at a time without leaving the villa and enjoying it to the fullest. Because it is so breezy so high up, really windy days are better spent down the hill at a restaurant/bar or the beach. The hosts were easy to work with and helpful throughout our stay with any little questions we may have had. We are looking forward to returning to Coral Bay/SMS!

Best views on St John
You can look out over Tortola and the BVI from the deck and covered porch. This is the perfect place for couples to reconnect in the beauty of nature. The kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook in. The pool is delightful and soaking in the hot tub under a star studded sky is absolutely amazing. Four wheel drive vehicle is necessary to get you up to this secluded and beautiful place in paradise.

Great for couples who want to get away from it all
Sun, Moon and Stars was just lovely. We stayed for our honeymoon in early January. The villa is well equipped with everything you need to enjoy the space and to explore the island. We liked that it was on the quieter side of the island, although it did mean we needed to travel by car for basically any activity. We had Landlubbers to deliver a grocery order the first afternoon we were there...I would recommend just bringing what you might want for the first morning and waiting to inventory what is there before doing an order, or just stop by Calabash Market or Dolphin Market. They were close by and pretty well stocked. We visited Love City Cafe several mornings for coffee and sandwiches on our way out to adventure, packed lunches for the day and picked different places to try for dinner each night.
Probably the favorite time of day for me was sunrise. It is not an exaggeration to say that the view is incredible, and each morning was beautiful in a different way. The brisk breeze was cool and welcome as well. Oh, and the stars at night! Just so clear and bright.
The only thing I would add is maybe some reading light by the sofa, but honestly we didn't stay inside that much (and I have a thing about overhead lighting.)
It was too cool for us to use the pool, but we did lounge beside it some afternoons and just read and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Simply Amazing
Can't say enough great things about this property and our trip there. My only wish in hindsight is that we had spent more time at the property rather than exploring the island b/c it was so incredible. The views are simply indescribable and the amenities (pool, hot tub, daybed) were just perfect!

Thanksgiving week 2021 at SMS.
View from villa is Spectacular. Watched the lunar eclipse and subsequent blood moon from SMS.
Chris is a great host always available.
The road is difficult driving up and down but the view makes it worth while.
Hopefully they will pave the whole road soon....but then more developement will follow of course.
Right now its quiet and remote.
Everything we needed was already at the house....down to the last detail.
You could literally fly down with just a bag of clothes and everything else is there already.
Hope to return.

Beautiful view, old bed
We loved the view from this home. The pool was cool, the hot tub was warm. It’s very windy on the mountain. We did not have 4x4 though ER requested it, had no issues climbing the mountain. The location is pretty secluded. It’s in coral bay which is very low key, on top of a mountain, and the closest neighbor is to your right but unable to see into your porch/pool area. No homes are completed past this one so it’s the highest on the mountain. The kitchen is nice and functional. The bathroom is dimly lit and has very poor water pressure. I had trouble rinsing shampoo out of my hair. The bedroom has an AC that goes on standby after so long. There is No AC anywhere else in the house and it gets very muggy if the doors are shut. You can’t sleep on the couch comfortably, even with the doors open, there’s no ac so it’s warm. There’s a sound system that has a couple speakers outside which is nice. Lights in the pool and hot tub. I had messaged the owners about landlubber delivery ahead of time and never received a response. The day of arrival we had to ask for the door code and barely had it in time to get in. The view was amazing, the bed was not. Very uncomfortable. The breeze through the home was incredible. There is a sunrise view. Complete privacy on the deck. Complete kitchen, does not have a keurig but does have a coffee machine.

Amazing views!
We had a great stay at Sun, moon and stars! The house had everything we needed, was clean and had great communication with the owners. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool after a day of exploring and sitting in the hot tub under the stars at night.

Paradise after months of Isolation due to Covid.
We have stayed at St. John half a dozen times over the years. Staying in your villa was the most beautiful, relaxing place overlooking Coral Bay/Johnson Bay. This beauty was God's handiwork! He painted the sunrise every morning. The villa was perfect for my husband and me. It was immaculate, well-stocked, and had everything we needed. It was comfortable and safe. The hot tub, pool, deck and covered deck looked like something out of a magazine along with the palm trees and flowering bushes. It was also a huge plus that you provided, beach chairs, floats, towels, etc. I want to thank you and your husband for answering any questions we had. We finally relaxed after over a year of Covid isolation. We definitely want to come back to this Paradise!!! Rhonda and Charlie

“REAL NICE!”
Great experience staying at SMS. The beautiful secluded property provided us everything we needed. Really nice outdoor setup at the house. So easy to relax. Located high in the hills on the quieter, Coral bay side. Totally different vibe than what you’ll find around Cruz Bay. Driving up the road to the house can be daunting at first, but certainly added to the sense of adventure! You cannot beat the views from this property. Absolutely gorgeous, 180 view of the surrounding Bays. That’s the real gem of SMS. We’re still in awe from our pictures! Hosts were very responsive and helpful with questions. Well managed.

SMS is amazing.
We had a wonderful visit to SMS. The view is amazing. The home is beautiful and has everything you need for a wonderful visit. The owners and property manager were helpful before the trip and with questions during our visit. The comments about the road had me a little nervous as I don’t like heights but was easy after the first time. The video helped with the initial drive for landmarks. Wee we will be back.

Most beautiful view on St. John
This property has the most idyllic view day and night. The Sun, Moon, and Stars Villa is appropriately named with gorgeous sunrises every morning across the East End of St. John and the numerous British Virgin Islands dotting the horizon and by night illuminated by a starry skyscape that is stunning. We were lucky enough to be their on the full moon which just glowed across the ocean below. Stunning property.

We went to Trunk, Maho, Honeymoon, and Salt Pond. We ate at High Tide, Rhumb Lines, Skinny Legs, Oasis, Salty Mongoose, and Miss Lucy’s. Rhumb Lines was by far the best, and the pizza at Salty Mongoose was also very good. We were up every morning to watch the sunrise, and on the last morning, Andrew proposed!! We certainly will return! The property also had a stash of supplies, hair dryer, straightener, and leftover sunscreen, beach chairs, towels, and basic kitchen supplies which was very helpful!
