We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house is gorgeous and very comfortable, and the hosts were welcoming and helpful. It's in an ideal location for exploring the beauty of Iceland.

Elin was very easy to work and communicate with. The house was very well appointed; we cooked a number of meals in the house. If any issues arose, Elin and her family were a call away. I’d highly recommend staying here and hope to do so again.

Absolutely amazing! I first of all never leave reviews and secondly am the most neurotic person and nothing really meets my standards ever, except my own home. I felt completely at home here and the house is exactly as pictured—except it has the most amazing coffee machine that has sparked an addiction for me:) The sauna is beautiful. The house has everything you need and more. Plenty of condiments, towels, toiletries you may have forgotten, American charging plug adapters, etc. We spent a very long time researching where to stay in Iceland. This location is PERFECT! You’re less than an hour to Reykjavik which wasn’t of high interest to us. Being outside the city meant you were typically within 1.5 hours of EVERYTHING else you would want to see from Vik to Mt Esja and the erupting volcano. Elin was terrific to work with and extremely responsive. A+

We had a wonderful stay - the house is very well set up for relaxing, cooking at home, and feeling away from it all, yet is located to make getting to all of the hikes and sites of Southern Iceland very easy. Elin was an amazing host and was very responsive and provided great suggestions. Would highly recommend the house and her hospitality.

Elin's house is a stylish and luminous home, cosy, warm and very inviting. We all (4 adults and 2 children) felt very comfortable during our wonderful stay in Iceland. The home is located in a very quiet area. It is equipped with every possible thing (and more!), so that it feels as if you were at home. I missed the house enormously once we had left! Absolutely to recommend!

This modern holiday home was the perfect base for our day tours into the wonderful nature of Iceland's southwest. Only 15 minutes north of Selfoss it offered all amenities we could think of. Besides a very appealing arrangement this included a well equipped open plan kitchen in a spacious living room, three bedrooms, lots of stowage space, a sauna, an outdoor hot tub with shower, laundry facilities as well as a Weber grill. Everything worked properly and was super clean. Elin (property owner) was very hospitable and reachable whenever needed. Even better, after our arrival in Iceland we met Elin's son in Reykjavik who guided us to the house where he gave us a comprehensive briefing. What else could we expect? Really nothing to complain about. We can fully recommend this holiday home!

Great house and the location was perfect. No more than a two hour drive to any of the secinic spots within the golden circle. Loved our stay the owner was great and easy to work with. I would suggest blackout currtans though.

Elin’s house served as an perfect home base for our trip. Almost every day we cooked a nice breakfast for the family. Then we had our adventures (e.g., snowmobiling, ice caves, hikes, scenic trips) for the day before cooking a late dinner back at the house. When we arrived, the owners generously met us at the house to acquaint us with the security system, the appliances, sauna, etc. and answered any questions we had. The house was conveniently 15-20 min from Selfoss for groceries. We were also centrally located to many of the sites and excursions we wanted to take. In summary, we enjoyed the peaceful countryside of Iceland, having the space to hang out as a family, and being able to view the mountains on either side of the house.

A beautiful comfortable luxurious house with everything one can possibly need as home away from home. Owners are most lovely, gracious and resourceful people! Do not hesitate to book this property. LOVED every moment!

This home is in the perfect location if you are looking to be close to the incredible sites in the Golden Circle. Not only that, it’s beautiful, well-equipped, clean, and the owners are very kind. The sauna is gorgeous and we enjoyed it many of the days during our very cold February visit. A word of warning, if you are coming in the height of winter storms, the hot tub/hot pot cannot be used. It has been a particularly icy winter so if your heart is set on jumping in the hot tub at night (or whenever), be sure to check with the owners ahead of time that it will be available. HOWEVER, you are within a 25 mile drive from some gorgeous spas like Secret Lagoon and Fontana Spa! There is also a lovely community pool that has an outdoor pool, hot tubs, and sauna, less than 10 minutes down the road - we loved it! The Friðheimar tomato greenhouse is about a 20 mile drive and was one of our favorite meals in Iceland. Additionally, the Efstidalur ice cream barn was a similar drive and so delicious! All of these places are within a reasonably short drive from the house and made staying during bad weather much better since we could still see some sights and enjoy local foods. Again, Elin did all she could to make our stay comfortable, I can honestly say that the bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in away from home. The kitchen is perfect with all the appliances, dishes, pots and pans, etc., you could need. We were thankful the home was so warm and lovely since we had terrible winter storms to cozy up during. If we were to return to Iceland, we would stay here again but in July, instead of February. Thank you for sharing your home with us, Elin! The home and owners get five stars from us!

We arrived on a morning when the roads were somewhat slippery and we were happy to have her lead the way. To my delight, she greeted us with a bottle of prosecco to celebrate my birthday (which was the reason for our trip). This house is also good for seeing the northern lights. Just walk out the door and there they are (if you’re lucky!). I highly recommend Elin’s house.

Beautiful house that is very well equipped. Location is great, less than 45 minutes to most golden circle sights. Kerid is 7 minutes away! Also only about 15 minutes from Selfoss which has all the stores you need. We enjoyed the hot pot almost every night and saw the northern lights every night with a spectacular show the first night, like what you see on tv. We were celebrating our first anniversary and this was perfect, surrounded but beauty and peace. Elin was a great host, made sure we were comfortable in the house and have great suggestions on things to do. Iceland has a very special place in our hearts now. We can't wait to go back and hopefully soon since Icelandair and WOW are soon starting non stop service from our airport. Great house for visiting SW of country. Well equipped with everything we wanted. Very good to have some food basics too. Outside shower was wonderful, even in the chilly mornings. Overall we would recommend property.

We stayed 5 nights. Elin went out of her way to meet us, get us familiarized with everything, and providing suggestions for things to do. She was responsive and helpful. It is a stunning, elegant home. We loved the sauna, outdoor shower, and "hot pot." The beds were comfortable. The house was immaculate. The kitchen was gourmet. And water from the tap is better than any bottled water you've ever tasted. We walked on the paths around the home every morning. And major attractions on the Golden Circle are within easy driving distance. We had an amazing time!

The property is nothing short of excellent, exactly as pictured and described. It is extremely well appointed and maintained with all fixtures and fittings at a very high quality. You can really tell that Elin really takes a pride in her villa. Elin met us at the property and was there even though we arrived just a little early. She took the time to explain everything in the house and how the 'hot-pot' pool, outside shower and the sauna worked. We loved all of these and especially the outside shower which we used every day. :-) Elin took the time to suggest some local highlights and sights we might wish to see together with local restaurants and shops. We were also provided with a local mobile phone that opened the gates but which Elin said we could also use in case we needed to contact her or make local calls. The house is in a good location for visiting the highlight sights in the Golden Circle and the 'hot-pot' and sauna were great to come back to and relax in after a day of sight-seeing. Only one thing that we did not find was an iron for ironing our washed clothes. We would have no hesitation in returning to the house on our next visit to Iceland and highly recommend both house and host (Elin) to anyone looking for a perfect spot to explore the key sights in the South of the island.

The property is exactly as pictured and is fantastic. It is furnished comfortably and is extremely well maintained and cared for. Elin was the consummate hostess - she met us promptly outside of Rekyjvik and led us to the house. She gave us a brief explanation on how things worked (the hotpot after a days hike is a wonderful thing) and told us of some of the local sights, restaurants and shops. The house is located within 30 minutes of Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall and Geysir. 2 hours drive (one way) to Vik and the Black Sand Beach. 4 hours drive (one way) to Jökulsárlón - well worth the drive. I recommend Elin and this property highly.

This house is amazing ! Amazing location and close to many attractions near the golden circle ! Would definitely stay here again. Hosts were very accommodating.

We were welcomed home in a very friendly way by Elin and her partner. They picked us up at Ikea and showed us the way to the house so that we could not get lost. It is a very nice and comfortable house located at a quiet and idyllic place . It is very well equipped. We very much enjoyed the generously built Finnish sauna, however, we could unfortunately not use the nicely placed hot pot next to the house due to the snow and freezing weather. The house is ideal for visiting interesting touristic places, especially the Golden Circle and is at the same time very close to Selfoss where you can find all shops needed for your stay in Iceland. Also, there are excellent restaurants in and around Selfoss. Overall a very good place and ideal for families or smaller groups of friends.

We had a great stay at your house, it is a beautiful place. Everything we needed was present. Geyser, Gullfoss and Pingvellir are nearby and we went even to the Glacier Lake (long drive but really worth it!) In Selfoss are several shops and there is a small (camping)shop 5 min. away. Elin and here husband explained everything very well. The weather was a bit less, but we have seen the Northern Lights! Thanks for everything!
