Property was as advertise. It was clean and cozy. The beach was a little rocky close to shore but a few feet out and it was all sand, perfect for splashing/swimming. I've seen some reviews about how the firepit was an inconvenience because it was across the street. Dont worry, the street was very quiet and hardly used. I actuality liked it, it kept all the smoke away from property with no worries of accidental fires. Cherry on top was Randy and his team, they had great communication and were very friendly.

My family and I had a great time! The cabin was clean and had almost everything we needed. They don't supply Wash clothes but it was fine because I had my own. It was across the street from water but not a big deal because we also had a great view of the lake. We will be going back again.

There was mouse poop on all the mattresses. It smelled of dead old fish everywhere. The lake sucks and there is no beach. The cabin was disgusting and was literally a patched together shed. The ac was pulling air from a shed full of garbage. Mouse traps on the kitchen counters. We caught a mouse on our first night there. We stayed one night and left the next morning on a four day trip. This place is disgusting and should not be allowed to be rented out. The pictures are lies and this place sucks. Don’t recommend staying here especially for the price!

First off I just want to say Randy is a great host. Friendly and prompt. The cabin is what it is, a cabin. Nothing fancy or flashy just basic. If you want modern amenities, new furniture this is not for you. The cabin is rustic and the furniture is useful. It has air conditioning in the bedrooms and the beds were comfortable. The location is somewhat to be determined as a highway runs between the cabin and the lake. The fire pit is also located across the highway near the shoreline. I’m my opinion this location isn’t good for kids. The shoreline is all rocked and there is no sand. The water however is clear and the bottom is sandy. The bathrooms could have used a few more bath towels as there were only two. No bar soap or shampoo and conditioner for the shower either. Highway 169 runs parallel to the back of the cabin as well and it’s very noisy all day with busy traffic. Randy does offer pontoon rentals but is quite spendy and the pontoons are quite old and need to be refurbished. For a little less money you can rent a brand new pontoon from the boat club online. In all fairness this was a last minute rental for our family and I rented based on availability and not amenities or newness. It served its purpose by allowing my family to get together and spend some time on a lake.

The cabin was a perfect get away with a large group older decor but was a great place Randy the owner was very nice and was reachable at any time

It was very nice. Everything that we expected and more. Randy and his wife were very kind and fun. Cabin was nice and clean and had everything that was needed for our stay. We were very happy with our accommodations and will definitely come back.

This was the perfect property for 8 old high school friends that get together once a year. Randy was very hospitable. We will be back!!

The place was on the other side of a frontage road that I was expecting to be less busy, lots of cars driving by. Not a great location if you have small children since the late and the fire pit are on the opposite side of the street from the cabin. Randy has stocked the place with all the essentials, but if you’re staying long term I would bring your own towels, etc. as there were only 2 provided. Nothing fancy at this cabin, but it was a nice that you didn’t have to drive around the entire lake to get there in traffic. If you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t your pick. But it was okay for the couple nights we stayed.

There was a tiny hiccup with the booking and ended up in a different building, but stil. Had an amazing time, definitely going to come back if I can!

The first thing Randy said to me when I arrived was "welcome to the family!" and I felt it. I rented this cabin for my 40th birthday and had an absolutely wonderful time but It was the end of the season. I can only imagine how much more fun I'll have next summer when the weather is nice and I'm back on lake Mille Lacs!

Good place. Easy to find and easy to stay at. Met Randy and he even hung out with us for a bit at the fire pit to give us info on things to do and see around the lake.

Property was what we needed for a four day weekend.

Had this property and the property next door for the same weekend. Both properties have pretty serious mouse problems and this one had a chipmunk come inside two mornings in a row. Had mice in the boat and the truck parked outside at night even. Luckily we spent most of our time playing yard games or by the fire at night so other than sleeping we weren't inside a lot. Randy was a nice enough host but I would not go back.

We had a nice little getaway. Randy was very nice and easy to work with. It was what you can expect for a cabin up North.

I have never written a review but am only doing this so others don't end up in the same situation. After booking Randy's place on 6/27 we got an immediate confirmation that it was available and he confirmed our booking for 8/3-5. I hadn't heard from Randy about entry into the property as of 7/30 (which was a few days before our stay) so I emailed to ask about keys and arrival and he replied "Hello I’m away from my calendar currently I will double check your reservation and confirm the house will be open [and tell you how to enter property] if there is a balance owed I will collect at that time" I replied that I had paid the balance a week ago to which he replied "Yes I see that thank you". We assumed the property was ours because of the confirmation we received on 6/27 and the fact that he didn't tell us otherwise on 7/30. So we arrived to the property we rented and paid for to find out it was already booked and people were staying there. Randy was no where to be found so we had to message him through VRBO.Besides the issue with double booking the property does not at all look like the pictures. Not good for young families at all, not saying he marketed it towards young families but would not recommend for young families. The beach is not a beach, the fire pit area does not look like pictures and the water and firepit are both accesible only be crossing a road. As others mentioned there are multiple trailers only feet from the property so not sure who stays in these. When I finally spoke with Randy about the doublebooking he didn't know it was an issue until we spoke. Seems like some serious mismanagement of his booking calendar to only have the issue pop up when someone calls you from your property notifying you there are people already in it. Needless to say he issued a refund after he realized it was double booked, not the whole refund. I called VRBO and they said Randy had to cancel the reservation on his end so that I could receive the full refund. VRBO kept me on hold while they called Randy on my behalf to have him do this while they were on the phone and he did. Randy did message after that phone call to say he took care of it with VRBO and I would be receiving a full message. I'm glad we received our full refund but still not sure if this would have happened without me calling VRBO as Randy did not initiate that on his own.Beware, deceptive, not like the pictures and property is uncared for. Needs improvement.

Messages Randy a number of times to let him know we were canceling our stay and never heard back from him.
