A two minute walk to the beach and nice garden views. Secure well kept neighborhood of friendly surfers. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms fully equipped kitchen. Catching world class waves right out back, no need to travel or rack your boards. You can’t see the beach from the house but it’s only 100 feet to the beach trail, which is landscaped to perfection. The black sand beach full of shells and driftwood was amazing. Hermosa Palms is a first class neighborhood development. Every worked was super friendly and happy. They have drinking water from the sink so we could fill all our water bottles daily. They had hundreds of channels on the tv and a good stereo. We hired Dixie a local surf photographer and she took 700 amazing pictures. The vibe of the development is super chill and the house itself is a palace.

Owner was very responsive and provided plenty of local recommendations. Check in process was a breeze as well as checkout. Would totally stay here again. The only negative was the default picture showing the beach/ocean view from third floor terrace. That view was something we where all looking forward to but was blocked by trees that have now grown 10-20 feet above completely obstruction the ocean view. The property still is a great place but I was quite disappointed about the missleading views from the home.

This was a perfect place to vacation. Tim was a great host and was always available to assist me. The location is perfect. The house is spacious and wonderfully decorated. I will be staying there again.

Tim’s house was perfection as was the property! Tim provided a ton of very useful information that made it easy to navigate to the house and around the area! The house was stocked with everything you could ever need. The pool area was awesome and YoYos food and bar drinks were incredible!!! We are definitely staying here again!!

Great property. Really relaxing. Easy access to pool and beach. Great nearby amenities and activities. Nice to be near Jaco but not IN it. House is beautiful, comfortable, clean and well equipped. You can tell Tim visits often. We were two families each with one child. 7yo and 9yo. Kids loved it. Tim was a great communicator and had wonderful ideas of things to do and see. Marco, the property manager, was readily available and super helpful. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back!

Everything about our experience was fantastic. There are only two things I want to mention. The blinds don’t slide, they are operated by a mechanism on the side. We didn’t know this , tried to pull them open and popped out one of the clips. Just would’ve been good to know. Also, the air conditioning is supposed to be kept at 81 in the upstairs. It’s a bit warm during the summer. Other than that, the location is incredible. The house is beautiful. The monkey, Poncho, (whose name we augmented to Poncho Reynoldo Donatello Van Zoost) is curious and loves to hang out. We were even able to summon him pretty reliable with a few oral click sounds. The community pool is really nice, and the food/drinks at the swim up bar are top notch. We really hope to stay again here soon.

Tim was always very responsive to all my questions. The house was amazing. We had everything we needed for our stay. The pool and restaurant attached to it were absolutely incredible. Marco was very responsive to all my texts and was very helpful showing us around the house when we first got there. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I wish I would have booked it for longer than I did.

The house was clean, good location for different activities. The waves are a bit strong, but it’s only 15 mins to Herradura beach. The pool was good Overall very happy with our stay

Great place to expend a holiday.

We chose Tim's Hermosa Palms location in Playa Hermosa after an extensive search online. With our 4 kids (ages 14-21) and my parents with us, the rental we chose was very important since we wanted something convenient, safe, clean, and big enough for all of us. From the day we booked the home, Tim was a great communicator and so helpful in his suggestions. He provided a list of things to do in the area, answered all my questions, and put me in touch with Warren at Zuma Rentacar. Marco, the property manager, did a walkthrough of the house the morning after we got there, and he checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything. The home was just what we expected--clean, quite spacious, located in a beautiful gated community, and just far enough away from Jaco (about a 12-15 min drive). They provide plenty of towels, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are very nice. We worried a bit about sharing just 2 full bathrooms amongst 8 of us, but it wasn't a problem since there was a half bath downstairs. We cooked breakfast in the well-stocked kitchen most mornings, made sandwiches, and even cooked dinner a couple of times (feeding 8 people gets expensive). Pool area is incredible. Sit in the shade under an umbrella, read, swim, enjoy YoYo's fantastic drinks and food, and look out at the beach. As large as the beach is with so few people, you almost feel like you have your own private location. Playa Hermosa is also one of the most consistent breaks in Costa Rica (as we learned from a local), so you'll enjoy watching people surf on the drive from the main road to the house. We grew to really love that drive. A few favorites: zipline and ATV at Vista Los Suenos, surfing at Jaco Beach, Taco Bar restaurant, soda restaurants, Pizza Pata, Villa Caletas at sunset. Husband rented a motorcycle and hit the trails in the hills for a few hours and loved it. Another local seconded Tim's advice to take Rafa's monkey tour and I'm kicking myself that we didn't make time for that. Next time! So come to Playa Hermosa, stay at Tim's house, enjoy Costa Rica. We loved every minute of our time there.

I have Stayed in Hermosa Palms before and liked the location. The community pool is a great place to relax after a busy day surfing and doing other activities. The rental Process was easy communicated with Tim he had someone meet us at the property for checkin. The house is beautiful and Well-maintained. I would stay at this home again in the future.

Great house and great location. House is very comfortable and decorated well. One of the only places in Costa Rica that has black out drapes. Sun rises early so my kids were able to get much needed rest after long days. Club house and pool were recently renovated. It was great and only a short walk. YOYo’s at the clubhouse was really good as well. The Pina Colada is a must have. Food was great as well. I would certainly recommend. Tim and Marco were both friendly and very helpful!

We had a very nice stay. Tim and the manager Marcos were very helpful. Tim provided very quick responses to all my questions. If you are going to jaco, and you do not need to stay in town, I would recommend staying here. Very nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Also, fo us, we tend to travel during playoff sporting events, so if you are like us, having a nice TV to watch playoff games, versus four hours in a bar, Tim has you covered. BBQ each night and also appreciated a good working grill; a lot of places have grills that are not well maintained so this was something we appreciated. Access to pool and beach is also a plus. Several decks also give you outdoor options. we enjoyed are stay. thanks Tim.

I cannot say enough about this beautiful home , we had absolutely a perfect vacation!, This home is absolutely beautiful, well maintained. Enjoy your time on the second floor patio or swing in the hammock on the roof top as you watch a stunning sunrise or sunset. Take a walk on the beach just steps away and walk for miles in either direction enjoying a natural beach that will make you feel like you’re the only one that has ever been there. Relax in the pool with your friendly neighbors that will become your new friends for sure . Take an excursion or two to experience all that this area has to offer, rainforests, shopping, monkey tours, best food you’ll ever have while enjoying a stunning sunset then off to enjoy the night life , This area has it all , this welcoming home and incredible owner helped us have the best vacation ever . Tim went out of his way to ensure we would experience the best of everything, follow his advice to ensure that everything you see and do had been tried, tested and true . We cannot thank Tim enough for all his advice for an incredible vacation!!, oh yes, we will be back for sure !

Casa Van Zoost was perfect for our week long vacation with 4 couples. Beautiful, spacious and comfortable accommodations for eight adults with 4 separate bedrooms and plenty of showers both indoor and outdoor. Open concept living room and kitchen were perfect for gathering and cooking each night. Kitchen was completely outfitted with all the necessary cooking utensils. BBQ on patio was great addition. . Lots of deck space for morning coffee, pre dinner drinks and watching sunsets. Also great for group workouts and exercising! Beach /pool club was Very nice, Private, easily accessible.with large swimming pool and swim up bar. Lots of shade and chairs around the pool. Playa Hermosa is 7km of beautiful beach to walk each morning,, watch surfers and sunsets. A perfect vacation destination. Tim was great do deal with from day 1, very helpful with suggestions for activities/attractions near and far as well as restaurants, rental car, and airport transportation. Hope to return again soon!

WOW! Working with Tim from the very beginning was incredible. He not only answered my questions over the past 6 months since booking the house but provided me with recommendations on rental cars (Zuma is the only way), things to do, see, where to grocery shop, etc. which allowed me to plan an amazing vacation for our family of 8. The house was perfect & comfortably accommodated us. Very spacious, private, clean, even bigger than the pictures make it seem and the beds were so comfortable. Hermosa Palms is amazing; from the neighbors who allowed us to feed Poncho, YoYo who treated us so well (she makes incredible food & drinks), Fauko who gave us advice on when/where/how to venture out to the places Tim recommends, Marco who was available if we needed him, the private beach that allows you to walk for miles, find sand dollars or to play in the waves and the daily sightings of the macaws was a highlight for sure. We are a family who has traveled a lot (Florida, Cruising, All Inclusives, Mexico) and this was the best vacation, we're already talking about going back in 2020. Getting around Costa Rica was very easy and we always felt safe. Thank you Tim for sharing your home with us, we plan to be back!
