Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere in a small hotel that we felt had a personal touch. It was relaxing and peaceful with plenty of amenities and the wonderful cathedral within walking distance.

It's a pity there is not the full restaurant service.

The only bad thing I would say it gradually over the hours the room because more dusty and there was alot of partials in the air. When you had the bed side lights on you could see them everywhere. Think it's a quick fix I would still stay there again.

Some odd design things. No rails for towels in bathroom. Toilet roll kept coming off holder. And quite expensive for a single night.

The location, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The design and building was really nice, felt very homely. I loved the adjoins rooms as my travel companion and I wanted our own bathrooms. Beds were out of this world comfy!

There was a slight mould smell when entering the rooms. They were spotless and couldn’t really see any unfair signs of ware and tear. Everything was clean! But I just couldn’t shake this smell on arrival. We noticed it when we came back to our room later that night too. Once the windows were open it was perfectly fine. Would’ve been nice to have bottles of water as the tap water wasn’t very nice with a tea or coffee in our room. And if I’m really being demanding a mini fridge. All of this wouldn’t put me off returning at all

Good value for money considering the location and free parking. The staff were really helpful when we arrived explaining where to park etc. All very streamlined

The beds are very comfortable and the bed linen is good quality

Unfortunately the car park is quite a way from the hotel. It’s a bit of a palaver checking in, leaving the luggage then going to park the car. Especially if it’s raining and cold.

It was everything I needed in a good location. I didn't relish the walk up Hollywell Hill every morning, but it was a useful reminder that I need to lose weight and get fit.

Staff were excellent, helpful and responsive. A refreshing change as St Albans does have a general rude and ignorant culture in its service sector. The rear facing windows allowed for the sound of the bells of the St Albans Abbey to find our ears. It was delightful. The bed was very comfortable.

The room was fiercely hot and the wall-mounted thermostat was unresponsive. A trip to the front desk told us the room temperatures are controlled from there. We had to have the heat reduced several times during the stay. The executive king room overlooked the bins and carpark of the pub next door. Bathroom was very small. No fridge in the room?? Completely bizarre for a hotel of this price/standard.

Everything was great, not sure if already a thing that I missed but an email with map showing parking spaces near by would be great, save a lot of time as busy round in the town.

We have stayed a couple of times now and really love how everyone is so pleasant and the hotel is beautiful

I was on the sofa bed, very uncomfortable a tipper would have made all the difference - grateful to be able to share a room with my sisters though. Breakfast overpriced and average, sorry!

Breakfast was amazing! Found it a little odd you had to book a slot for breakfast, but understand you want to know cause of staffing and kitchen. The location was also very good.
