The view and location of the Property was lovely and the size of the apartment was great. I did not however stay at Alexandra on the Pacific as when I arrived I was told the room I had paid for no longer available. This rating is for the property next door which management of the Alexandra on the Pacific manage as well

I had received an email to confirm I was going to be given a room with ocean views on level 4 of the Alexandra on the Pacific. I arrived a few days after booking and called the property to let them know I would arrive approx 3pm rather than the check in time of 1pm. I was informed this was no problem at all. I arrived and was told my room was no longer available due to the apartment having plumbing issues. I simply asked for the room they were going to give me in replacement with a view which is what I paid for and was also confirmed. I was informed there is no room with a view and they showed me a room which looked onto a blank wall with a snipet of the ocean. I informed the manager I was totally disappointed and flew up to this property as confirmed re accommodation to not be informed via email nor when I called at 3pm was not acceptable. I was told I could be given a refund and would have to find accommodation, I was travelling on my own and this was nothing less than poor. The manager then offered a room next door which they manage. The room faced the ocean and was great, I was so relieved. The apartment had a large glass patio door which did not open, and when I reported the door not being able to be opened and when I tried with all my strength the door popped off the rail the manager said 'yes that door needs new rollers' so again a safety issue that was known and the customer not informed. Three men came to repair the rolling of the door (after one hour I left the apartment again stressed with this stay) I returned to the apartment that afternoon, no call to inform me the door was fixed. The door was on the rails but again I could not open the door. There were other doors to open but this is not the point again customer not informed. I reported the apartment was dirty and a pair of mens underpants behind the drawer set covered in dust was disgusting. The office unattended when my uber arrived for the airport home, office unattended.

Large apartment with great cooling. Staff are welcoming and helpful. About a 5 min walk to the Esplanade. and patrolled beach.

Location is quite noisy due to traffic (busy road next to apartment). The building is on a hill so my ageing parents found it hard to walk back to the apartment from the Esplanade.
