The staff was excellent at anticipating and fulfilling our needs.

The restaurant was over priced.

We were initially disappointed when we arrived, primarily with the location of the 5* Relais - on the outskirts of the lovely town of Pescocostanza and near an IP gas station. We were also shocked by how much extra a child cost. We even considered leaving, but am glad we did not. The staff was exceptional, and little things, like having a real fire place in the amazing spa under ground and in the living room make it unique. It is also just a short walk to the historic center and a 10 minute drive to wonderful skiing and snowshoeing. But the difference was the staff, and the spa. My brother wanted eggs and though not offered, the staff made them everyday for him. When I left some objects after leaving, they thoughtfully called and sent them to me. It is not a 5* by US standards, but it has much charm, a wonderful underground saltwater pool, jacuzzi, turkish bath, sauna and relax area and above all, wonderful staff. Go for it! And Pescocostanza is a small jewel of a town with excellent restaurants.

We had a junior suite right on the road and the vicinity to a gas station was not ideal, but in the end did not make much difference. It is a quiet town, and not much traffic. The rooms are not huge, but these negatives outweighed but the wonderful staff.
