Location only. And only because we needed a quick escape to Romanian border, not that from a tourist point of view the location is something special.

There was some noisy party in the restaurant, that lasted after midnight and we couldn't sleep because of the noise. If we were told about it we could arrange some other place to sleep cause we had to get early in the morning and couldn't sleep half of the night.

Great location, staff are very friendly and helpful.

Didn't have breakfast and wasn't offered any. WHY?

We had an evening meal and the Residential CAT, joined us for dinner, jumped up on the chair and put its PAW in my partner's plate, hitherto say, he couldn't eat the FOOD due to contamination.

The room was large, but I was on my own and it was for 4 people. With 4 it would have been cosy. The staff allowed me to bring my bicycle into reception and lock it there. There was one staff member in the evening who spoke English and was welcoming. She made a real effort and smiled. (The only one!)

It’s difficult when staff don’t speak English and the guest doesn’t speak Bulgarian. but a smile is international, and no smiles were returned. Everyone seemed grumpy, and upon arrival, although I was the only person checking in, I was initially ignored. At breakfast no one could provide me a list of what was available. The breakfast notice on the reception desk was out of date, and no longer valid, which begged the question, why was it there? My toilet or sink leaked, clearly a known problem because some make shift repair had been attempted. I went through 3 towels trying to keep the bathroom floor dry. The twin bedroom only had net curtains. good luck to anyone trying to get a lie-in there. There was one available sockets in each bedroom, not enough for 4 people with phones etc. There was no plug near a mirror. I had to ask reception for a hairdryer but then had no mirror to use. Trivial issue but…. The bath seemed dirty. I used my own disinfectant wipes before using it. I think it was just engrained scum but come on, use some Vikal or something. Generally the place needed a make over and happier staff. I was intending to stay two nights. I stayed just the one, and would never go back.

The hotel is quite nice and comfortable, staff friendly. There is a small parking in front of it, but it get easily full. The restaurant offers tasty and filling local (Balkan) food and is open to late hours. I ate there two or three times and was always satisfied. As to the breakfast, you're asked to choose from 8 choice a day before, but it's not necessary, you can do it in the morning, too. In some other review I noticed recomendation of "мекици" (drop scones?) which I can also recommend - warm, soft, mild sweet, tasty. And there more substancial than e.g. scrambled eggs.

Most of the staff cannot speak English nor other foreign language. It applies especially for evening shift. At the late morning there was usually one person speaking good English. Due to the language barrier I learned only the third day, that breakfast coffee is paid extra, and that, on the contrary, I should had been given a free glass of milk of juice. The fourth day I had to ask for it and endure the waitress'es sneer.
