We had a wonderful stay on Oahu in this wonderful apartment. Kailua is great, as are its beaches. We were actually for a business trip, and I had to travel to University of Hawaii in Honolulu several times, but that was also no problem - 30 minute trip by car over the mountains, nice ride. Vic and Carla are really great hosts,extremely friendly and helpful, with lots of good hints. Thanks for you great hospitality! Should we (hopefully!) come back to Oahu, we will definitely try to stay here again.

The location of this property is truly quiet and peaceful and allows for wonderful bird watching. The breezes on the porch and throughout the apartment are delightful. It felt like coming home after a long hike or sightseeing adventure.

Everything was wonderful and made our trip to Hawaii perfect. The house was super-clean, it had everything you need and provided the four of us plenty of room. Nothing better than my morning coffee on the wrap around deck. A definite must stay if you're looking for quiet, clean and overall beautiful home away from home.

We had a wonderful week at this property. Lanai, facing the golf course, was our favorite place. we always had dinner here in the evening. The facilities were all equipped, and the interior was also nice. It's close to the city of Kailua and very convenient. Kalama Beach Park is a small beach park, but we enjoyed it leisurely. Lovely quiet property at end of cul de sac in a residential neighborhood. Comfortable beds, all the necessary kitchenware, appliances, linens, and washer/dryer to make our stay feel just like home.

The house was lovely and the hosts were super nice and wonderful. It was a quite neighborhood and the golf course in front of house provided the great landscape. It was in the convenient location close to Kailua beach and Waimanalo beach.

Loved staying at this property! Very conveniently located, all the amenities and extras (pool/beach items) you can ask for, and caring hosts! Would come back in a heart beat.

This place is clean, great location, quiet and overall amazing! If you're looking for a peaceful place with a great location on the Windward side of Oahu, with the best host, this is your place!

We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it! The living space was clean, spacious and had plenty of kitchen amenities for cooking. The veranda was large and provided shade and a gorgeous, peaceful view overlooking the golf course immediately behind the property. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom was spacious. We ate all our meals outside, listening to the birds. The area is quiet yet close to activities and beaches. Our hosts were friendly & helpful. Would definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great place on second floor overlooking the golf course...felt like a treehouse with lots of windows and air flowing through. Air conditioner/heat pumps kept the rooms the perfect temperature. Very very clean, better than advertized.

Great location for exploring the “windward” side of the island. Vic and Karla are gracious and welcoming host who go out of their way to make your vacation comfortable and restful.

We wanted more chill vibes than the touristy busy vibes of Waikiki and that’s exactly what we got. We loved the location and amenities. Thank you Vic and Carla for an amazing stay!

This space is fabulous and just as nice as it looks. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, and the home had plenty of linens and towels. Vic was extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating, even when we entertained some local friends on the spacious, quiet lanai. We highly recommend this space. Even the pullout couch was comfortable! We came here after a few nights in Waikiki and the sense of peace and quiet was dramatic and appreciated. We hope to return.

Everything was good but I think the bed is a full size not a queen. Also the overhead fans are utterly useless, they barely move no matter what setting they were on. The AC was cool, but I had to download the manual to figure out the remote to them. Once I did, all was well. I loved to sit out on the deck in the early morning hours and have my quiet time overlooking the golf course. Vic and his wife were very sweet.

Our two weeks stay at Coconut hideaway was fantastic. We bird watched and spent lots of time on the beautiful lanai. The location was perfect for restaurants and picturesque beaches where we snorkelled and soaked up the sun. Vic and Karla were great hosts and we look forward to returning.

Vic was so welcoming from the start. I was able to check in early, and get some rest. The place was lovely, clean, and comfortable. Vic and Karla were so nice in recommending places to go. I definitely would recommend this beautiful stay.

Pros -well equipped unit - very comfortable -good location to access all parts of island - close to beautiful beaches Cons - next to construction next door- 2 mornings of workers yelling, swearing and table saw noises- mentioned this to owner and he denied that there was noise - bed is a full size bed and not a queen - dishwasher makes loud noise- need to turn television way up in main room to hear it

We felt welcome as soon as we received the first email from the host after booking this beautiful apartment with huge lanai overlooking golf course. Loved sitting out on lanai, having breakfast and enjoying the singing birds! Hosts are super friendly and offered local tips on activities and restaurants.

We loved our stay at the coconut hideaway! The location is perfect and the unit was wonderful. There were some many homey touches that really made the stay that much better. Vic and Karla were available for questions or tips but you have the whole upstairs space as well as a separate entrance for privacy. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay on Oahu!

We stayed with Vic and Karla for 5 nights and we wish it would've been longer!!! There aren't enough positive things to say about our stay. 1) Vic and Karla themselves are wonderful and kind, from the start they made our stay with them so personal. They greeted us personally and gave us great local tips! We loved them!! 2) Their home was truly a home away from home. As I write this review in our current townhouse 1 island over, I'm already missing their homey touches that other rentals lack. It was such a beautiful, bright, and comfortable space, so well decorated, amazing back deck, the extra half bath was so nice to have, and we especially appreciated the small touches like spices, coffee filters, many extra blankets, a standing fan in the bedroom along with great A/C, maps and menus, excellent beach towels and supplies...... the list goes on and on. We lacked nothing, and we are so grateful for the space they created that we enjoyed so much. The neighborhood was quaint and very quiet, the house next door did still have construction going on during the weekdays but we were awake with the sun by the time they got started and by the time we got back home from being out on the island they were gone, it did not bother us in the slightest. 3) We truly believe we chose the very best town on the entire island of Oahu to stay in. We visited Honolulu & Waikiki beach for the day (far too busy and crowded), we drove south (not as charming of towns and a bit more rugged), we drove to the North Shore (rocky waters with huge waves and ground up shell sand), the only area we didn't visit is the far west. Kailua is THE VERY BEST, plain and simple. An absolutely charming town, incredible and pretty gentle turquoise waters, soft powder white sand, kind people, not too crowded at all. The house wasi a very quick and easy 10 minute or less drive to the beach. We hit the jackpot staying here. Long story short.... stay here!!

I grew up in Kailua, so it's important to me to stay there when visiting Oahu. I've stayed at many rentals there over the years, but Vic and Karla's has them all beat. The unit is spacious, modern, and very, very clean. The bonus was the location. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac next to the golf course, the rental also had the best views of any place I'd stayed - made even better by the fact that you're up on the second floor with a wrap-around lanai (it was also really helpful to have a place to dry our beach towels, snorkels, etc.). Great lodgings, great views - and with laundry to boot! And an amazing deal on the price given how wonderful it is.

We had the loveliest time staying with Vic and Karla! Their communication in advance of our arrival was perfect and allowed for a seamless experience. They met us when we pulled into the driveway and showed us around. They take great pride in their home and it shows - fluffy towels, comfy bedding, and everything you need to cook and serve meals. One of our favorite things was the outdoor spaces - we took our coffee outside in the mornings and ate our meals outdoors. They have everything you need for long days at the beach - boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. After an energizing day at the beach, our entire family loved coming home to this quiet and restful spot. You couldn’t ask for better hosts - they’re completely available without being the least bit intrusive. They’ve lived in the islands all their lives and enthusiastically share their favorite places. The next time we’re in Hawaii, staying with them will be our first choice!

The place was very clean, accommodating with kitchen and beach accessories, and true to the pictures posted. Unfortunately, the owner failed to tell us about construction noise next door. The machines and crew (cursing) really made it difficult for us to enjoy our stay. Had we known ahead of time we wouldn’t have stayed. Although, the owner tried to accommodate us with buying us dinner and providing another home one day before our departure it was really disappointing. We complained early so don’t know why the owner didn’t provide another location sooner than one day before departure to go home. We spent hours of our time in February looking for a quiet location after staying one week in busy Waikiki. We would recommend that future residents ask if there is anything that will disrupt the quiet location. :(

This was the perfect spot for us in terms of proximity to our favorite beaches as well as 20 minutes from family in Honolulu. The apartment had everything we needed and our hosts were lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

Extremely convenient and perfect location for my family. Check in process was smooth and the place was beautiful. My family and I enjoyed sitting eating our meals outside with the beautiful scenery. We enjoyed our stay here more than any trip we have ever taken! Vic and Karla though of everything to make the trip the best. The location is amazing, tucked away in the culdesac of a quiet neighborhood with amazing views of the golf course. The apartment was immaculately decorated and clean. We had access to beach towels, chairs, and everything we needed. The washer and dryer were super helpful! Vic and Karla thought of everything! The bed and pullout were extremely comfy too! It was really nice to have access to air conditioning, as well as the option to enjoy the Hawaiian breeze with the open air access when you wanted. We hope we can return to this amazing hideaway! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!! Spectacular in every way!!

Great for small family.

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights and we never wanted to leave! The holiday apartment felt like a home I would have designed and was absolutely lovely! The bed was so comfortable. The Hawaiian breezes blew and the tropical birds sang. The views of the golf course from the wrap around patio was so pretty and relaxing. We spent many hours enjoying it. The kitchen window had the view of the stunning mountains. The bathroom looked over the golf course green and ponds. I loved the kitchen and we made many meals while there. It had all that we needed. Vic and Karla were very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. The type of people you could be instant friends with. We enjoyed walking the golf course in the evenings and taking the quick 6 minute drive to the absolutely gorgeous Kailua beach. It was easily our favorite Vrbo to date and we've stayed in many! We loved our stay and are already planning a return visit!

My wife and I loved staying at Vic and Karlas spot. They were great hosts and gave us the space we needed. Beautiful view of the golf course and not to bad of a drive from some of the nicest beaches in the world. Can’t beat that.

The house was even better than on photos and located in the best part of the island. We loved all the features like a big terrace and jalousie windows that allow trading winds to cool down the living room. We enjoyed having our coffee and watching sunrises from the terrace chairs. The view on the golf course is beautiful, especially in the morning when the low sun lights up tree crowns. Little cozy yard was our favorite place to have breakfasts. We now miss cooking dinners on a grill and then just sitting down around that blue table on the terrace and listening to birds singing. Thanks to Karla and Vic for having us, we'll try to come back.
