The photos don’t do justice to the look and smell of oldness in this house! You can see it needs some updating, but it goes much much deeper than that. The oven, for example, is original to this 1972 house. There is a VHS player, bronzed baby shoes, macrame, and electronics held up by tape. Some items in the house look like they have not been touched (or cleaned) in decades. The dining table and chairs were wobbly, and that cute outdoor swing had rusted chains holding it up. It felt like visiting my grandparents when I was little, except that I paid handsomely for this experience. As for the noise level… it is on a 2-lane street, paralleled by both PCH and the train tracks. The train was still going at 9:30pm, and we didn’t sleep well between the trains and the traffic. I also don’t think you can walk to any of these beaches in 10 mins. MAYBE if you cut across all traffic lanes and train tracks, but only maybe. I would not stay here again and do not understand the 5 star ratings.

Beautiful location and views. We had a very relaxing stay and we were able to take long walks with great views every day. My only suggestion would be to update the patio furniture.

This property suited our needs perfectly. The view was perfect and we enjoyed sunset every night. The proximity to beaches and downtown Encinitas made it easy to enjoy. We really loved our stay here.

Cute beach house with great view and close to everything. Street noise can get loud but overall a great place to relax, hit the surf, take a walk and short distance to great shops and restaurants.
