Had a 4 night rental and left after two nights. Chip was amazing to communicate with. To no fault of his, we lost power a day and Wi-Fi throughout. Concrete block cabin with DIY attached storage for washer and dryer. Rotted wood on deck and door frames. Musty smell in cabin even though noisy dehumidifier was on. The one bathroom was updated but extremely small. Furnishings were fair/poor.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cottage! We came down to tailgate in Auburn -wanted to stay on the lake and this was absolutely perfect. So quiet! It is cute, clean, and the owner is very responsive. Highly recommend!

Went up to do some hiking at the local trails, and the location was perfect. Restaurants and grocery store are convenient to reach as well.

Loved our stay at Chip's cabin! It was a nice mix of a rustic cabin at the lake with all the modern conveniences. The decor was charming and cozy. We had everything we needed. The deck and dock were perfect for lounging and enjoying the sights and sounds of lake life. We saw several deer in the yard and lots of squirrels and chipmunks. The property is about 5 minutes from several great restaurants. We especially enjoyed Twice Baked for breakfast and Niffer's Place for dinner (fabulous Happy Hour prices!). The frozen custard at Lake Martin Creamery is unbelievably good. We drove up to Smith Mountain (about 16 minutes) and hiked the trail to the Fire Tower. The view from the top is spectacular! It was nice to be close to things to do without a boat. We would definitely stay here again!!

When we pulled up we were greeted by 4 deer! The cabin is small/cozy (expected) but spacious and you can tell it’s been updated! Very clean, extremely comfy beds and the couch too! Large deck and my husband was able to fish off the dock as well as take his kayak out on the water. My ONLY complaint is the internet, it was insanely slow, truly unable to watch anything streaming. It was loading/buffering every 30-60 seconds. So on a football Saturday/Sunday we were bummed. We ended up having to use our hotspot on our phone to use our iPad to watch games. Other than that, everything else was wonderful. I also highly recommend Niffers and Lake Martin Pizza Co. Both were great! Chip was very helpful and easy to reach!

My first stay in the Lake Martin area. House was very spacious and in a great location quiet with friendly neighbors. Saw deer. Close to restaurant and stores if needed. Everything worked in the house. No problems at all.

My husband and I loved our stay at Chip's cabin. Our dogs loved swimming in the cove nd running and playing in the huge yard. It's a very quiet residential area. The location was a great jumping-off point to explore Auburn. Don't miss suggestions from our trip to Dadeville- Twice Baked on Hwy 49 for breakfast & lunch; Lake Martin Creamery for frozen custard; Lake Martin Pizza Co. which has a dog-friendly patio. In Auburn, Kiesel Park is a fantastic place for walking and the fenced dog park is unbelievable. The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art on Auburn's campus has a wonderful collection. The shops on College Street in Auburn were all very dog-friendly and accomodating. We loved the comfort and convenience of the property. The back deck is fabulous and we utilized the grill several times. We took advantage of the opportunity to rest and unwind, and we wouldn't hesitate to return!

This is our second stay at this property. The home fits our needs perfectly with its close proximity to Auburn University (30 minutes). Also a Great location for boating and fishing. The home is clean and has most things you’d need. Beds are comfortable. Great deck and dock. Area is quiet with plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained. Bath is small but adequate.

Our experience here was great. The host was very nice and helpful. The property was the perfect size for what we needed and the location on the end of the canal was great with the dogs. It was very quiet and very clean. We would stay here again!

We really enjoyed our time at this property! Can’t wait to return!

Nice cozy home and easy access for water sports

We had a great stay at this cozy cabin - great location - very near everything we wanted and needed, both by water and land, while still maintaining the peaceful natural setting! We saw deer and chipmunks, and had a sweet birdsong serenade throughout our stay there. Comfy beds, perfect space for our family with teens. There was plenty of space inside and out for us to hang out together, no matter the weather. Host was very quickly responsive and helpful any time we reached out during our stay. Will be back!

Pleasant host. Beautiful views as the property sits right on the lake. Deck allows for taking it all in. Enjoy the birds and quiet. Close to many hiking trails and good locals food spots. We plan to return!

Such a wonderful place! We loved the deck and the view so very much! We saw deer and heard an owl! It was perfect for our family to celebrate an early Thanksgiving. Honestly, I think we surprised at what a delightful place it was! We will be back— my daughter and I quickly decided we could live there in a heartbeat! And the owners were wonderful to work with!

Overall this cozy lake house was exactly as advertised and I would rent again. The rental agreement warns renters that the property is under renovation and as such, there are a few things in need of repair, but nothing that interferes with the quality of your stay. The property was fairly clean with a few surfaces that haven’t been dusted in a while. The back deck is spacious and would have been even nicer if the furniture cushions were made available. The kitchen is minimally stocked. Beds were very comfortable and the lake decor tastefully done. Online pics don’t do it justice inside or out.

The owner has done a beautiful job with renovating this cute cabin on Lake Martin. There was plenty of room to dock our boat. Lots of deer and wildlife. We will be back in the Summer!!!

The play is super nice inside , great location! Small but not too small to not have ppl over and be in each others face. I will stay Again , Chip was a great host!

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean. The deck area was so relaxing and the view was beautiful! It’s on a large lot so no problem parking our boat. I was pleasantly surprised at the wild life on the property. I’m not used to seeing a herd of deer in the yard! Would definitely rent again.

Updated cabin, small but tidy. Nice deck and dock. On the end of a very small inlet in a high traffic area of lake. Very close to Chuck’s, Niffers & Oskars Restaurants.

House was cozy and area very quiet during the week. Tons of deer visitors! Water was super clean, no weeds or vegetation. Close to stores.

Chip’s property was wonderful. It’s beautifully situated right on the water with a nice new dock. The inside of the house is well appointed and very comfortable. Chip is great and easy to communicate with.

We enjoyed our stay at this lake house. Owner was easy to talk with regarding any minor issue we had. We enjoyed the quiet cove and its location to restaurants and access to the lake. We kayaked, went fishing and swam. Great Lake trip!

the cabin could not get any cooler than 77 degrees at night. during the day it was in the 80's while the outside temps were in the 90's so it did not make comfortable time in the evening. also could use some kind of steps going to the boat dock, walking down a hill leading to the water is kinda dangerous . The owner was very nice to communicate with. The one reason we rented the cabin to begin with was to have a place to cool down for a day trip on the lake, unfortunately that did not happen.

Perfect spot, right size for a small family, easy access to all the best parts of the Lake. Excellent job on renovation, the Owner responded in a timely manner and made everything Smooth! Thank you.

Our stay at this location was absolutely amazing . The owners were very prompt about responding to any questions we had and check in was so easy . The house was very clean and well supplied . It just made our vacation that much more enjoyable. We will definitely go back at stay here in the future . If your looking for a nice quiet spot this is definitely your go to .

Our family of 4 loved Chip’s cabin on Lake Martin! It’s conveniently located by several restaurants and a short boat ride to Chimney Rock. The open concept kitchen & living area made us feel at home. I also loved how the living room had sliding doors overlooking the large deck with views of the water. We spent lots of time on the deck & on the pier. The highlight of our trip was when our son caught one of the 200 tagged fish in Lake Martin!!! After removing the tag, it was released at Chip’s cabin to be caught again another day!
