Sol Mates was a wonderful place to stay. It was quiet and secluded. The property was gated and very ,very nice. It had everything we needed already provided. Wonderful ocean and tropical views.The private pool was outstanding as well. Well maintained and clean. This is a must stay for anyone visiting. You will need a car because of the seclusion. Definitely coming back for another extended stay next year. Awesome!!!

This villa is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed for 2 1/2 weeks and the owners had every amenity imaginable. Comfortable beds, clean inside, tons of towels, rafts and floats, beach chairs, a cooler and so much more. The pool is beautiful and such a nice treat after a day at the beach or an evening swim. The complex was quite and private. We are out most nights but the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you can imagine if you want to cook at home. Great air conditioning in both bedrooms. The main house was a bit hot as it doesn’t have a/c. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in the east end of St. Croix. We loved our stay here and will definitely return!

Celebrated my best friend’s 50th birthday at her favorite place, St. Croix and loved our stay at SolMates at Villa Madeleine. The villa is on a beautiful hillside overlooking the ocean and the green hills around it. Patricia and Tom provided everything we needed (toiletries, coffee, beach chairs, lots of beach towels, etc.). Our favorite part was hanging around the private pool with the best pool floats ever! No matter what time of day, you could always go for a dip in the pool. Loved the French doors from your own bedroom leading right to the pool. If you want relaxation and quiet, this is the place for you. It’s best to get a Jeep in St. Croix to really explore the island. There are so many great places nearby. You are only about 9 minutes from Point Udall for the best sunrises. We hiked to nearby Isaac’s Bay and Jack’s Bay. Jack’s Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island…only accessible by foot. Go early right after sunrise and take your snorkel gear and water. We had the entire beach to ourselves. In the area are Shoy’s, Cheney, and Cramer’s beaches and Ziggy’s, Deep End (Caribbean Night with Moko Jumbies), Castaways, and Duggan’s for restaurants and bars. Christiansted is only about 15 minutes away. This trip we found a wonderful pizza/Italian place there called Alfio’s. Amazing people, food, and drinks. And then there’s the North Shore and western side to adventure to with so much to see and do! Absolutely loved our vacation and villa!

Wonderful relaxing stay! Only one glitch - the umbrella was broken when we arrived. We put a call into the local contact and he said he’d come by Monday. Despite following up twice - he never came by or returned my calls. And wear bug spray!!! Place is just as described and wonderful! Kate

Second time at this location. All clean and quiet. Little things were a little shabby but nothing to take away from the stay. Tvs could be SMART and AC updated for whole villa. It's hot in the afternoon with really no shade by the pool. Can only take so much sun. Umbrella was no help. Cramer's is a hidden jewel of a beach. Duggans good but a little off track. Goat soup is very good and Hamiltons is outstanding if u can get a reservation. Ok we loved it.... really!

Fantastic property and overall experience. My husband and I have been to St. Croix several times before and stayed in Villa Madeleine in the past. We were hoping that this vacation would live up to the hype we built in our minds (since it had been 7 years since our last trip) and it 100% did. We walked into the house and music was playing on the radio…an amazing and thoughtful touch. The pool was crystal clear and fabulous. Communication with Pat both before and during our stay was prompt and very helpful and friendly. The house was clean, had lovely island decor, the bedrooms were comforting, and all in all the place felt like home…even our 7 year old said so. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook dinners. There were even extra toiletries like lotion and aloe for those days when we got a little too much Caribbean sun. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay at SolMates and it was everything we wanted in an island family vacation. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Located on a hill, the view was amazing. We loved everything about the place, especially the pool!

I remember this spot from when it had the restaurant. Beautiful views and comfortable villa with all the accommodations. Loved the pool, happy to have the kitchen and a washer/dryer! Just be careful of screens and they are easily taken out of the track and could not use one of the bedroom screen doors because it was not secure and the screen was taped which was not helpful. Other than that we had a fantastic time and would love to return soon!!

From start to finish it was an amazing experience for the week we were on Island. Our host was very responsive to all of our questions prior to arrival. Upon arrival we walked in to a very clean and serene home. We forgot a few things from the grocery store, but there were some staples available in the condo. We opened and secured all 3 sets of french doors leading to the pool deck, closed the screen doors, opened every window that could be opened and left it that way our entire stay, the breeze was amazing. At bedtime we would secure the bedroom doors and close the bedroom windows, and use the AC. In the mornings we would shut off the AC and open the bedroom doors and windows back up. Our days consisted of making breakfast, taking Crucian style showers, getting out all day, and then coming back and making drinks and dinners. I suggest doing as much or as little as you want, get out and make friends, and just enjoy your time here. We were here to collect my wife's Grandfather's ashes, but we made the most of our time. If you stay here read the guest book for ideas! Overall this was an amazing stay!

This property in the Villa Madeline area is quite wonderful. The photos online do not do it justice and do not begin to show how nice it really is. The kitchen has been updated and while small, is fully functional. The pool was perfect. There were no problems with the WiFi. Some villas in the area have updated AC units, and while this one has older window-style units, they worked just fine when we didn't want the breezes off the sea. Like every other Caribbean villa we've stayed in, the water pressure from the showers wasn't like we have back home, but that seems to be the norm and it really wasn't unexpected. The location in the very safe & secure complex was great, and we enjoyed the extra privacy of this end unit. The units in Villa Madeline utilize their square footage well and are perfect for 2-4 guests, and SolMates is as good as they get!

This was a great property plenty of space and it was close to several great restaurants. You are close to Christiansted for plenty of great shopping.

The house was great and the private pool and deck lived up to expectations. The owners and thier manager were all great to work with.

The condo was just as promised. It had a great floor plan, tons of amenities, and a glistening pool. We expected to have to climb stairs but SolMates is on level ground, just steps from easy parking. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Villa Madeline was an end unit which was a plus and the entire gated community was very quiet. The master bedroom was spacious with a beautiful breeze that we never had to use the AC. The rental seemed to have everything that we needed for the week except there were only 3 beach chairs in a closet and there were 4 of us but we notified the property manager and he brought us a new one the next day. We noticed that the dishwasher was not secured to the countertop so when the door was down and the top and bottom racks were pulled out the dishwasher tipped forward. Quite dangerous! We also had to fill the pool with water using the hose. Apparently there was a leak in the pool somewhere. A few men showed up a few days after we were there and said they would be fixing it but never came back when we were there. Lastly we came back one afternoon after beach hopping and there was no water coming out of 4 faucets. Property manager was notified and we had running water within 4 hours. And wi fi was not the greatest but you’re on vacation. I would still recommend Villa Madeline.

An easy and convenient place to stay and recharge in beautiful weather and scenery

Very clean, comfortable. Furniture and fixtures up to date. View and location are excellent. Good communication and response from owners. Only drawback was the generator noise from the Casino, which ran 24 7. Hopefully that will get fixed soon.

This place is beautiful! You must have a car. It is away from everything.

We arrived at this condo that advertised as having AC and found that there was only a very old dirty window AC unit in the bedroom. The unit was not working properly. It was extremely hot in the bedroom, living areas and kitchen. The owners response was dismissive, rude and condescending. His solution was to open the doors and pull the screens , which were nasty and torn which only resulted in profuse sweating and bug bites. The property manager, Charles came over to check it and was extremely helpful. We stayed one night, and the owner did give us a refund. He was just a jerk about it. The villas are beautiful, and in the future I will rent directly from the VIVIllas.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our vacation in Saint Croix. Our accommodations at 40 Villa Madeleine certainly added to our enjoyment of the island. The property was beautiful and well provisioned. We enjoyed having our meals out on the terrace that looked out onto the ocean. The pool was awesome as it is was well maintained and you could actually do laps, instead of just being a plunge pool. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderfully equipped condo with two bedrooms that allow privacy for each. Main building has large, master bedroom with comfortable king sized bed, a large shower and has French doors that open to pool. The view of the ocean from the master is awesome! In the main area there is a Living room, kitchen and bathroom. Two sets of French doors off the living room open to the pool. The second bedroom is right next to the living room and has two twin beds that can be made into a king. It is by the pool and also has a bathroom. Washer and dryer in the unit. The layout offers privacy between the two sleeping areas. We left the windows open at night and the breeze was a very comfortable temperature — we were able to just use fans or ceiling fans and did not need the air conditioning. There are pool towels and chairs to use — great for our beach outings. Plenty of places to eat nearby and a short drive to Christiansted for groceries. Close to point Udall to see the sun rise and some hiking. A little longer drive to the west end - but definitely manageable. Highly recommend!

Very quiet and relaxing, beautiful view. It is on the far eastern end of Island so you will have a drive wherever you go - but there are a couple of nice things (Udall Point, Cramers park, Duggans Reef) close by. Pool was awesome and the villa itself is very accommodating.

We loved this past week in St. Croix and staying at Villa Madeleine was a huge reason we enjoyed our trip. Having a private pool was amazing in addition to the lovely views of the Caribbean. I would recommend this Villa to friends/family.

What an amazing place to stay! I’ve visited/lived on island before so I had some expectations on where we would be staying.....this place far exceeded my expectations. From the minute we arrived Villa Madeleine/Solmates our trip to St. Croix was that much better. With the private pool, my kids did not want to ever leave, and honestly, I was always excited to get back. I would highly recommend Solmates, and if available, will look forward to staying there again on my next trip to St. Croix.
