Second time our family has stayed at the property. Great hosts & great accommodations!

We really enjoyed our stay at this little oasis on Crystal Lake…Brian and his wife were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They were gracious enough to take the kids and I out for a boat ride, and put out a floating mat and SUPs for us to use at our leisure…they even grilled dinner and s’mores on the fire for us which was above and beyond. The lake is crystal clear with a beautiful sand beach. The house has all been redone- very clean, well appointed with great mattresses and comfy reclining couch. We had a blast and can’t wait to visit again. Location couldn’t be better for exploring Lake Michigan…quick scenic drive less than 15 minutes to Frankfort beach, 20 min to Betsy Lighthouse, 30 min to Sleeping Bear/Glen Arbor…

This was our first time visiting Crystal Lake and this property was the perfect place to stay. The home is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Has everything you might need including the best view to wake up and go to sleep to. We loved relaxing on the property's beach and splashing in the water. The proximity to town (a short walk) as well as to Frankfort and Sleeping Bear Dunes were a bonus. Lastly, the owner's of the property were so kind and super helpful. They provided multiple recommendations and always were very responsive when we had questions. We can't wait to visit again!

Upon check in the owner's wife saw a pack of cigarettes in my vehicle. Twice I affirmed I was aware of the no smoking on thew property rule. I have stayed at numerous other non smoking properties and have never had an issue. I was on the property for less than 20 minutes. The owner's wife told me I the owner wished to speak to me. I again reaffirmed I was aware of the no smoking rule for this property. The owner told me nobody who smoked or vaped was honorable. I asked how to resolve the issue and he told me I must leave the property immediately. I contacted VRBO to get a refund and they contacted me after speaking to the owner who lied to them and said I had violated the non smoking policy. If you rent this property, you shoulds be aware that the owner believes he has the right to control what you do either on or off his property even if what you are doing is totally legal. You should also be aware that although he believes anyone using tobacco or vpaing in any form is not honorable, he feels no personal need to be honest with VRBO and feels entitled to keep your money although ironically he will return a damage deposit that he says in the listing would be forfeited should you chose to use tobacco on the property. If you keep reading I am sure you will find a triggered and angry response from the property owner which will tell you all need to know.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenage boys) stayed at Crystal Haven for a week at the end of July -- it was a great experience! Brian and Cheryl were incredible hosts and the accommodations were perfect! They take great pride in Crystal Haven and it shows. It was the easiest check-in and check-out that we have experienced used VRBO. The swimming/paddle boarding/kayaking was amazing in the crystal clear water on the private beach! And there is so much to do and see in the area...dunes, hiking, kayaking Crystal River, shopping, dining out, mini golf, etc. We had one of our best vacations here and are keeping it on our list to visit again!! Highly recommend!

Brian and Cheryl were the ultimate hosts; making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! They are kind and generous and provide a beautiful place on the Crystal Lake lakefront. It was perfect for our family of 4 (kids ages 8 & 12) with perfect beach access and proximity to the Betsie trail! We will definitely be staying again!

This home was perfect for our week long stay with gorgeous views of the lake. The sandy beach is amazing with everything you need for a great beach vacation. The house is beautiful and very clean and comfortable. Brian and Cheryl are great hosts who went above and beyond.

It was pristine and finished beautifully making it truly comfortable to be in the space. We had great access to the property’s wide beach directly across a little one lane road. The beachfront is outfitted with lounge chairs, Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, a dock and lake toys. It’s sandy and easy on bare feet. All clean and really lovely. We built a fire in the fire pit one evening and watched the moon rise over the lake. It was beautiful and serene. This home is a gem and the lake and surrounding area is beautiful to explore. The owners were accessible and lovely. We will be back.

We stayed for 4 nights at this gorgeous property. The views of Crystal lake were amazing! The cottage is very clean and new, the owners were wonderful to work with and very prompt in their response. The amenities that we were able to use just added to the great experience. We would definitely rent again if we are near Frankfort.

Brian and Cheryl were amazing hosts. Their home was convenient to bike /walking path to both Beulah and Frankfort. The accommodations were great and they provided many amenities for enjoying our vacation at the lake. I know they didn’t have anything to do with the weather, but it was the best. Thank you Brian and Cheryl. Will do it again!

Beautiful cottage & beach. Many extras were included such as kayaks, standing paddle boards, fire wood & utensils for use in the fire pit and more. The owners were readily available for questions if you had any and went out of their way to make your visit enjoyable. I had a very nice time :)

Brian and Cheryl were phenomenal hosts who you can tell truly love sharing their beautiful haven! They were kind and generous and very welcoming to us. The house is absolutely gorgeous and was immaculately clean on arrival, it was perfect for our family of 4. I am a bit of a water snob (I don't like it to taste like anything) and their reverse osmosis water filter was awesome, the water was so good! I usually end up buying bottled water when we stay up north but it was an unexpected bonus that I didn't need to do that! The sandy beach is just steps away from the house and they have everything you need - picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs, beach umbrella, pool noodles, boogie boards, kayaks, SUPs and all the tools you need to cook dinner over the fire. The beach is a little rocky upon entry so you can bring water shoes, or just enter off the dock into the sand. The lake is stunning - so clear and beautiful and has a large shallow area (and was a wonderful temperature when we were there in mid July). The house is located a mile away from the downtown area of Beulah - it was an easy walk or bike ride away from a lovely cafe, a few restaurants and shops. Truly a great location. We would definitely stay here again!

It was wonderful to either stay on property with all the offered amenities (kayak, SUPB, floating mat, nice beach, fire-pit, clear water) or within easy reach to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Frankfort, Empire, or Traverse City. Brian and Cheryl were very welcoming and keep a very clean, and comfortable house. The kids both slept on the Murphy bed and slept soundly. The other bed was just as comfortable for us. I would highly recommend this wonderful place for others. We had an awesome time!

This lake house property was just awesome, and the lake, itself, did not disappoint - very beautiful! Great lakefront location with very nice amenities and furnishings. Our family very much enjoyed our stay, and Brian and Cheryl were tremendous hosts. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely keep this rental in mind if we come back to NW Michigan.

My husband and I went into this vacation very excited. We are two registered nurses from Columbus who just got through working throughout the pandemic with three young children. We are long time renters of VRBO who have never made a complaint or had a complaint made against us. As soon as we arrived to the property there were yellow flags. The owner met us at the door and it was obvious from the start he is very protective of his property, to the point of making us feel uncomfortable. He immediately told us the many “house rules”, watched us from his balcony while we played on the beach, and took pictures of us. He confronted our four year old about the specific spot he got a rock from in the lake and had him return it, and told my husband he needed to put out a cigar he lit across the street, outside at the fire pit on the beach. Be aware that the owners have access to your unit from basement stairs to the laundry room and access it while you’re staying there. The red flags came shooting out like fireworks on our third evening. We arrived back to the rental at 8pm and heard the owners arguing extremely loudly from outside the home. The violent yelling, screaming and cursing escalated for over an hour and a half when we heard loud crashing sounds that woke up our 1 year old daughter. We were scared for our safety and the safety of the owner’s wife. We were extremely concerned about the direct access they have to our unit and we called the police to report domestic violence. After arriving and assessing for danger, the police provided us with an escort off the property for our protection. We had to scramble to find a place to stay with our 1, 4 and 6 year old for the remaining 5 days of our vacation, which thankfully we did. He lied to the police, he lied to VRBO (said we left due to bad weather, broke a shelf, said out our children peed on a mattress, and left dishes in the sink to collect on our damage deposit), and he will likely lie about this review. We read another persons comment about the owner that said: “Do not do business with this snake” and we now unfortunately realize how true it is. If you value your safety, do not rent this unit from this owner.

Had a lovely stay in the comfortable guest quarters. Very clean. Super comfy bed. Spacious apartment. Great view of the lake and such a lovely beach, practically right outside our door. Hosts were very attentive.

The place was perfect for our week long stay - we enjoyed the kayaking, biking and easy hikes right from the house, and there are tons of trails and small picturesque villages and cities short drive away. The house is very tastefully decorated and has everything we needed for cooking and watching the October weather constantly changing over the lake. Brian and Cheryl made us feel welcome. Overall fantastic place to stay!

Really enjoyed our stay at Brian and Cheryl’s place. Excellent hosts! Very clean and updated. Private beach had fire pit, kayaks, sup, lounge chairs....all was good. Added bonus was tour of lake provided by Brian. Great visit.

The property is beautifully decorated and appointed! There is absolutely nothing negative to say, the owner’s have provided a perfect setting on one of the most beautiful lakes in Michigan.
