We had a wonderful time. The sunrises were amazing. We saw dolphins and deer. I heard a Great Horned Owl before sunrise on the beach. We enjoyed the walks on the beach. Hunting Island was a favorite for swimming. The deck at the house was perfect for our two dogs; the gates made it easy to have them outside with us. The screen porch saved us from the bugs. The kids enjoyed cornhole and set up a badminton net on the beach at low tide. Natural Retreats was outstanding with their communication and even called a couple days before the trip to make sure we were all set. Thank you so much for our great vacation destination for 2023!

Great location, house and amenities. St. Helena's Sound is gorgeous and the house is set up with various locations to watch the ocean. We brought our pup and the porch and gazebo was perfect.

What a peaceful, beautiful and tranquil setting. So close to the ocean you can hear the tide at night while you sleep. Everything was just perfect. The wrap around deck was such a plus so we could let our schnoodle dog run free. My husband kept saying he'd would definitely want to come back. This was our first time in the Beaufort, SC area and we enjoyed exploring the area. Great restaurants and the Cypress sanctuary was delightful. The huge old, old oak trees covered in moss everywhere was just amazing. If your looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to recharge your batteries or bring family along. This place has it all! Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven.

St Helena Island is a special place. This was our second visit and this time, we brought my husband's parents. When my husband and I stayed a few years ago, we chose St Helena because it's the halfway point between Charleston and Savannah, and we wanted to tour both cities. It's a fairly easy drive. We always stay in very nice houses, but these homeowners truly thought of everything! My mother-in-law is an avid bird-watcher and we were thrilled and surprised to find bird feeders with extra feed in the closet, binoculars and several books about the birds found in the area!! I love to whip up cocktails and bring my own supplies because very rarely do vacation homes have everything you need. These homeowners even had a muddler! The house itself is very charming and comfortable but the outdoor area . . . heaven. I'm an early riser and was treated to the most spectacular sunrises every morning! We also saw dolphins and what we think was a small shark swimming right in the front of the house. We ate at many of the local restaurants and they were all great. We had a wonderful time making memories with his parents. A big thank you to the homeowners for sharing their amazing beach cottage. We hope to visit again soon!!!

This stay brought us nothing but pure joy. As others have said, the pictures don't do it justice. There's a new sectional couch (different that the 2 love seats we saw in photos) and we loved it, made the room comfortable for all of us. Someone commented that if it had been more than 4 adults it would have been tight. That couldn't be more wrong! We had us, and our 3 adult (ish) kids and one's girlfriend and we never felt cramped. The outside space blew me away. The landscaping alone was beautiful with trees, plants, all of it just beautiful. The red amaryllis bloomed while we were there. There were great bird watching opportunities just from the deck in the front. The gates around the deck were perfect and kept our doggie close. We moved the deck box to block going all the way down and it was great. We loved that it was dog friendly as our dog had a BLAST!! It was her first trip to the ocean. A neighbor had a super friendly dog and liked to visit, and leave presents. It wasn't too terrible, but we did mention it. The beach in that location was perfect for walks. There were a few people around, but very few, it was so peaceful. The master bedroom, with sliding glass doors allowed me to wake up early and check out the sunrise. The kitchen had EVERYTHING we could have needed. Super well stocked. The artwork all over the place was INCREDIBLE. Seems like a silly thing to comment on, but the maps, fossils, photographs and more gave the place a feeling of home. Books, and games were plentiful. The property management team was so wonderful to work with. Texting with them was easy and they were always super responsive in helpful ways. They starter packs in the bathrooms and kitchens were greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Take out from the Seaside Bar and Grill was quick and easy, and allowed us to eat from the deck. We could not have asked for a better stay. If we ever win the lottery and win big, I would buy this property in a heartbeat, lol Thank you to the owners for keeping and sharing such a wonderful home, and thank you to the management company. I'll remember this trip as one of the best.

Wonderful to see sunrise/sunset on the beach. The beach had so much to explore and the house is a reasonable distance to attractions! Very much enjoyed the friendly property help and our stay

This place was absolutely gorgeous and amazing. It was a great getaway for our family and two dogs. This home was a very clean pet friendly house to stay at. Our two fur babies truly enjoyed their stay as well. I appreciate that there wasn't a weight limit on dogs for this rental. We will definitely be back!

What can I say. Accommodations were great! Location was spectacular with the beach out back and sitting area right above with the Adirondack chairs for viewing the stars at night and listening to the waves. Wrap around porch was great for our dog so she could come out and sit with us and enjoy as well. We did enjoy a fire in the fire pit as well. Very relaxing. All in all great stay!

Pictures do not do justice. This home is absolutely beautiful on the inside and outside. Had the best experience from check in to check out. Made the best memories with my family . This was our third time staying at Carolina Sunrise. It is a very special place with so many great memories now! The porch is amazing, we appreciate the labels on everything and the beach is so unique. Thank you for sharing!

We visited St. Helena for the first time last year (at another Natural Retreats location a few doors down) and, after falling in love with the area, came back for more. Hunting Island is like Jurassic Park with a nice beach and lighthouse - seriously, we play the theme song every time we drive in the gates. Downtown Beaufort is beautiful at sunset and has excellent restaurants - Breakwater is our absolute favorite and we loved Panini's as well. There are also excellent nearby restaurants like the Foolish Frog and Johnson Creek Tavern. Foolish Frog was our favorite lunch spot last year and it was the same again this year. What we didn't know until the last day is that dinner at the Frog is a step up to fine dining and almost rivals Breakwater in Beaufort with a high end menu. And closer to the house...well played, Frog. We could tell from photos and descriptions that this home was going to be perfect for our first vacation with our 9 month old baby girl and for my parents to join us for a few nights of the week we were there. But it even exceeded our expectations. The morning sunrises and beautiful views up and down the shoreline are spectacular, especially with the lot next door being natural/undeveloped. The home is very well appointed with pretty much every amenity you could want and hotel quality for most including comfortable beds, linens, etc. I lost count how many times someone said "man this place is awesome". Even the small things - like my dad was impressed to find a nice wand on the hose outside to wash his car. We had a couple dogs with us and the wrap around decks with gates (front and back!) were amazing - an absolute game changer for being able to enjoy the outdoor space with our pups. For a while we opened the gate at the back and just blocked the lower stairs so we (humans and dogs) could roam both the decks and gazebo freely. After just a couple days, it really felt like we were coming home every night after a day at the beach and dinner in town. Can't wait to do it again. We highly recommend Carolina Sunrise and plan to return again soon!

The house was perfect for what we were looking for, exactly as described. We loved being on the beach, exploring with the kids and relaxing on the wrap around deck or patio. The Hunting Island pass was an added bonus, it is one of our favorite State Park dog friendly beaches. We would absolutely choose to stay here again!

The property is about as perfect as you can get. If it weren’t for the heat/humidity we wouldn’t have left the back yard. The inside of the house is a little tight to move around in but nothing too bothersome. Comfortable beds.

This is the third time we have stayed at this house, and there have been some nice updates since we last stayed. The views were phenomenal as always, the property was clean and well stocked, and the pass to get on Hunting Island was used numerous times (and is a nice bonus).

This was our first visit to the Sea Islands and everything exceeded our expectations. The beach home was perfect in every way. The inside was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed waking up to the beautiful sunrise view and sipping our coffee on the deck. We enjoyed all the wildlife from dolphins to ocean birds to little crabs. The beach was quiet and we enjoyed many walks. The location was great for area restaurants and nearby Beaufort for shopping and historic sightseeing. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay.

Everything was as expected or better. We hope to return to this property soon.

While the house was smaller than expected, it was very comfortable and literally right on the water. Good house for a weekend getaway for a small party.

This was our second time staying at Carolina Sunrise , and just absolutely love it. Location is phenomenal, and this area of the beach is the best. The tides are fun to watch, and the star gazing at night is just beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked, super cute house, and screened in porch is fantastic.

We have stayed in this area several times and wanted a new house in Coffin Point. This has been our favorite so far. The shared living space would be a bit close if there were more of us (4) but we spent most of our time outside as the outdoor living space is awesome. Even when the beachfront deck was windy, the fire pit area was not. The kitchen was stocked well. This is the first rental in which the knives were actually sharp, lol. Washer/dryer, bathrooms, etc were clean. No issues with water temp or pressure. Plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. We’ll return to this house. ;)

Sunrise is just beautiful, the house is clean and the property is fantastic. We will be back next April. Can't wait!

Had all we needed to enjoy a week away

We enjoyed our stay at Carolina Sunrise so much we booked our next trip the day before we left! The house is in a remote area, with its own private beach on the sound. When the tide is in you have the full beach experience with sounds of waves. When the tide is down is when we enjoyed a nap as it was usually mid day this happened…or we would take the time to explore other things locally and learn about the Gullah culture more. In the area there is the most beautiful state park to visit (the house comes with free beach pass for entry). The beach is the most unique beach we have seen yet. We are used to going to the gulf, and although this was different, it was still beautiful. We also spent a day in Beaufort, which was lovely! We still have plenty to explore our next visit. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

Our stay at this property was everything we hoped for and more. The property is very peaceful, and was a great getaway for our family. We were able to watch dolphins swim by every morning and evening and even a few sharks near the oyster beds during low tide. Watching the tide change was also a very cool experience. This property had everything we needed and we can't wait to return.

Be sure you bring water shoes because there are a lot of oyster beds.Lots of space and such a comfortable home inside and out
