Our annual family mid-winter getaway was able to return this year as everyone is now Vaxed and tested neg. Whidbey is very close to home but feels like being away. Very much enjoyed the space and family time.

What a lovely home! The kitchen is well-equipped and has many extra staples like seasonings, sugar, napkins, foil, etc. The place is comfy, warm, and has a view to die for! We were here in December and the weather was grey, but it didn’t matter as we were on the water and the place is light and roomy. The upstairs apartment is lovely and very spacious. Everything was simply wonderful. Be aware there really is only room for 3 cars. Not a problem, it’s just that the street is narrow and there is no parking. We briefly lost power but were able to light a fire in the fireplace that kept us warm and happy! This is a great place with lots of room for everyone to have their own space! We would absolutely stay there again!

I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing time we had. This trip was for a small family gathering, the first time since Covid hit. This home is incredibly clean. That was important to us. All cleaning avenues were thought of and upheld. This home is so beautiful, the view is jaw dropping and the owner is fantastic to work with and so fast to respond. They have stocked this home so well that you do not need to worry about bringing anything aside from food to cook with and your clothes. Gorgeous indoor fireplace, they have an outdoor fireplace too but we did not use it. Super comfortable beds. The unattached apartment was perfect for people that went to bed early. The 2 family rooms were great for those watching sports and for those wanting to read a book. Lots of space to relax. The cute town of Langley was an easy 10 minute drive away. 10 minutes the other direction was a well stocked grocery store and a delicious drive through coffee stand. We really appreciated the thoughtful holiday decor that was there too. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for helping us make wonderful family memories. We can’t wait to return! -Ingrid

Nice sized home with good amenities plus apartment for mixed family groups. Bells beach near Langley is always a perfect PNW beach town getaway. Communicative host and cleanly rental home.

Our Christmas vacation with our two daughters and granddaughters was wonderful because this home was perfect for us. The owners contacted us beforehand to find out the ages of the grandkids so that we had just what we needed for them. The set up of the home worked beautifully for our three family units: my husband and myself and two married daughters and their spouses. The separate apartment with kitchenette and two sleeping areas was perfect for the daughter with the children. The house was outfitted with everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked. The thing my family also appreciated were the many games and toys for kids and adults. The layout of the house allowed for "together time" and "alone time". My son-in-law especially made use of the fire pit, making nice fires for us so we could enjoy the beach on cold nights. Finally, the owners were so very kind in returning to me the phone cord I had accidentally left. Ann went above and beyond in even contacting me when I had mistakenly sent her a wrong zip code and the post office told her the one I had given her didn't work for the address given. The owners truly care that your time at their property is lovely in every way!

Really appreciated how kid friendly it was. One floor with toys, games, pack n play, high chair, gates outside.

We had a delightful family four days at this fun beach getaway! The house has magnificent views, was very clean and exceptionally well stocked. Neighbors were pleasant and helpful. We were fortunate enough to watch a pod of Orca whales heading north. What a treat! Easy and helpful communication with the property manager. We definitely want to return. Many thanks! AO

Great view. Well thought out amenities (s’mores supplies, paper towels, pantry staples, firewood, toy cupboard). Pretty garden with low fence in back—works for young children or small dog. Owner is very responsive to e-mail/texts. Glad we stayed.

My two grown children, their spouses and my five grandchildren and I spent three nights at this lovely home. We were right on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful weather and watching the kids (ages 10-15) swim in the sound (brrr), build Sandcastles, play frisbee, etc. We had planned on exploring the island and it’s offering but everyone was having so much fun we just stayed at the house except for a couple of quick trips to Langley. We roasted marshmallows in the evening and watched the sunset. The house was perfect for our large group. Plenty of space for everyone to gather in large and small groups.

Everything was what we had hoped for. Terrific.

We had such a great time we stayed a extra night beyond what we planned!!! Great for my 4 year old daughter and 9 year old niece. Everyone was happy and relaxed the whole time. The low tide at the end of June provided an incredible beach and we were the only ones around. Highly recommend.

We chose Ann's place because it had 2 bathrooms for 5 adults. So many others had 1 bathroom. My adult daughter enjoyed the loft. We enjoyed having a fire our second night. I wish we could have stayed longer - it would be nice to spend the day at the cabin/cottage to watch the tide. We spent our day hiking various trails on the island. Thanks again - maybe we'll return.

Amazing view! Lots of space, clean, comfy bedrooms, details were well communicated, lots of little details that made our stay very enjoyable. Only thing we’d change is stairs to loft.

We had a wonderful long weekend with our adult kids. The house was a great set up for us, with the separate apartment and two ‘sitting areas’ for those that wanted to watch the Mariners! The house is very well equipped for cooking and dining and we enjoyed all of that. Sitting out on the deck taking in the views as amazing. Beach walks are dictated by the tides, which was fine although we like to be able to walk out onto the beach anytime. All in all a fantastic experience.

Great house for our small family reunion.

The house and location were fantastic. Ann was wonderful to work with and really accommodating to our family. As an added bonus, the house includes the use of a full apartment with a kitchen & bathroom over the garage for additional sleeping space. The views are outstanding and the water is just outside the door. We had 6 adults and 2 young children with us, everyone from 4 years old to 60 really enjoyed our time. Between watching the bald eagles swoop down on the beach, spending time in Langley (only 5-10 minutes away), and the giant box of outdoor toys for the kids..all had a blast. I highly recommend this property and south Whidbey Island as the perfect place to get away.

Not a great beach for kids

The house is wonderful and Ann was great to work with. Everything was just right, the location couldn't have been better. The views are outstanding and the water is just outside the door. We had 3 young children with us. Between the sand and the critters, the water, the attic and the smores over the fire pit, we all enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend this property and south Whidbey Island as the perfect place to slow down and recharge.

Some details: My family and extended family - 10 total (5 adults, 5 kids) stayed at the house for two nights over Thanksgiving. The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, then a "loft" that can sleep ~4 and then an attached apartment (go outside, up some stairs and you're there) that has two beds, a cot, a bathroom, and a small kitchen. Pros: The home had a beautiful big window looking out at the water. There was enough seating and dishware for all 10 of us to eat at the same time. Ann was so thoughtful and left a roasting pan for the turkey. There were toys and board games to entertain the kiddos. My parents (the grandparents) stayed in the apartment, which was a great way for them to have a quiet, restful morning since they were away from the early rising kiddos. The location was great- beautiful beach location but still fairly close to amenities like grocery stores and restaurants. We had a lovely walk at nearby Saratoga Woods. The house is not fancy or new, but was comfortable and worked well for us. A few additional comments: As I think others have commented, the "loft" has an attic-type creaky pull-down wooden ladder. It worked fine for us because we had old enough kids to use it but it may not be a great option for young children and older adults. Also, not sure if this was specific to November, the tides, or something else, but we unfortunately did not get to walk/play on the beach because the water went all the way up to the wall of the back deck. That was also true of the public beach in Langley - the water went all the way up to the stairs, so we didn't get to play on the beach there either. We've been to Whidbey many times over nearly 10 years now and that has never happened to us so not sure what it was... again, it was fine for us but just noting that you may want to check the tides/sand situation if you want to play on the beach, especially during the off-season.
