The house location was ideal and we loved being right on the beach. It accommodated our large family well. It was nice having a basket of beach towels which we used frequently. We loved the setup upstairs. It gave our adult children and their families their own space and bathrooms. The seating in the common area worked well. As for any concerns, the mattress/box spring in the master bedroom was broken resulting in the side of the mattress closest to the bathroom sloping downward. It would have been nice to have had dish towels to clean up the kitchen and a larger supply of dishwasher and hand soap. We did try to reach out to Gus about this but did not receive a reply during our stay. The interior looked to be recently renovated and was very comfortable. The outside needs some maintenance but this did not affect our stay. Overall we had a great experience.

The description of the property states: “We have just finished repainting inside and out. The great room and bedrooms have been redecorated.” However, the paint was peeling off of the steps and porch and there was a rusty nail protruding on one of the steps. The steps were also mildewed. The door sill was falling apart, there was a crack in the bottom of the door and the door itself was badly in need of painting on the outside. On the inside, the area around the door knob was black with grime. I personally scrubbed it down, as well as cleaned the hand rail leading upstairs. It was filthy. The walls were scraped and dirty. They did not look as though they had been painted recently or even in the last year. The furniture was beat up and not clean. Some of the chairs were cracked and compromised. The carpets were stained and the wooden floors were scraped, scarred and filthy. There is no way this house could be described as “decorated.” The furniture was mismatched and beat up. The location is fantastic and if the house is ever renovated, it would be a great place.

Great location. On the beach and near shopping. Perfect layout for a family reunion. Bathrooms and appliances are new.. Could use some fresh paint and new flooring but he is working on upgrading the windows and doors. Very responsive.

Older house and grounds in need of some paint and updating however bathrooms were recently updated. Plenty of room for the 20 of us and our active group. Reported to owner that maid cleaning service was poor so hopefully he will address that. Several had complaints about the mattresses but overall about 4 stars.

The location of this house is great! The bathrooms were beautiful (especially the master bath)! There was plenty of room for all of us. I think the house needs some TLC and definitely needs to have a garbage disposal installed in the kitchen sink. But other than some visual and a few mechanical issues ( doors hard to open and close) the house was great!!

Gus was very responsive to the problems. Kitchen needs up grades. Bathrooms are nice. Great location.

Husband and I picked a week a year in advance to gather 4 adult children, spouses, and 4 grandchildren to begin celebrating our fiftieth. We came from all over the country. Keyless deadbolt made check-in and -out and comings and goings easy. Locks on Oceanside doors were more difficult because of weathering, but not a problem. Whole house was very clean, linens and bedding fresh, seemed new. Bathrooms had obviously been recently updated and were wonderful. Kitchen had enough equipment to cook for and feed an army! Appliances all were modern SS and worked very well - older fridge in laundry room off kitchen perfect for beer /beverages. Lots of seating inside and out. Beach access was direct and easy with shallow water for kids and deeper areas for those who wished to try surfing. Long walks along beach were very relaxing - no crowds. Great restaurants within an easy walk for meals, so we only cooked one dinner for all of us, using the gas grill in addition to the stove and oven (daughter baked specialty brownies from scratch). Though we only used one TV, there were three available. No issues with WiFi or reception. No complaints from anyone in family. Washer and dryer were rather noisy but worked well. Cleaning supplies were minimal but sufficient. We’d suggest clearer instructions on separating and putting out trash and recyclables. A mat at deck door to wipe sand and wet feet would have saved a beach towel. Overall the house was perfect for our vacation - we’d do it again without hesitation!

We had a great stay at this property. The location is ideal - easy to get to, oceanfront, close to local restaurants and shops, but still benefit from quieter private part of the beach. I recommend that guests bring extra bath towels, but otherwise we had everything we needed for several families with kids of various ages.

This what just what our family needed. The house inside was very clean, bedrooms were perfect size for our groups, and the updated bathrooms for amazing! The exterior of the house does need some TLC ( weathering from the ocean ). There were 15 in our group. The review that said it was not clean was completely inaccurate. It was not a five star resort, but perfect for our group that included 5 kids. The view and location could not be better. This was our first IOP visit, but will not be our last..... So, for you more "down to earth" people, pack some plastic plates, silverware and cups and go enjoy the time of your life!

Everywhere is very dirty and smell very bad. The house need a lot for remodeling from kitchen to all the restrooms and bedrooms.

This house was exactly what we needed!!

Our family of 14 (ages ranging from 1 to 84) stayed here the last week of July. As many people are aware, it’s a rather hefty investment to rent a nice house on the beach, but we planned for it and anticipated it with much excitement, as did the rest of our family. For the price we paid, this house was in very poor condition and was extremely disappointing. It is understandable that back-to-back reservations make renovations difficult, but our experience was negative enough that it felt like the owner does not have in mind their renters best interest. We confirm that the June 2021 review is accurate. It felt like a frat house. The house says it sleeps 23, but had 11 forks when we arrived. So we bought silverware. In addition to the previous review, the lower level bedrooms in this house have an ant infestation problem. Ants in our bed and our children’s bed, in my suitcase, in the bathroom. We went to the store to buy things that google said repelled and/or killed ants, but even after that they kept appearing. There’s more than neglect going on here. Again. Needs an overhaul.

This home is perfect for a group like ours, four couples and three kids. Right on the beach, restaurants within walking distance, and Charleston a short drive (about 25 minutes). I am assuming the owner will address some cosmetics once the prime rental season is over but they only slightly diminished the experience.

After our initial rental at a different property was cancelled due to the owner selling....this was the only one we could find that would accommodate the size of our group. We knew from the numerous poor reviews from the last decade, that we probably were not in store for the Ritz, but with newer reviews that were glowing 5 star...we were hoping that the owner had fixed up things. Well, we were wrong. If you have ever watched an episode of "Hotel Impossible" being inside one of those episodes is how we felt. If this had been a hotel and a place where we could have gotten our $$ back, we would have turned around and walked outside the door. PRO's: - On the ocean, million dollar view you are surrounds by multi-million dollar houses that are all updated (not this house) - House can accommodate a large group/family - Walking distance to IOP shops, bars, restaurants - We loved the beach/ocean CON's: - In general EVERY room had dirty walls, ceilings, floors (dirt, crap, bugs, hand prints, etc.). Also holes in sheetrock in various rooms, dirty/stained carpets and not vacuumed under beds/behind dressers (for some time based on dust bunnies, garbage left there) - Wooden floors, stairs are very worn and broken in areas - There are 2 newer couches. Aside from that ALL the other furniture in the house is a complete mismatched falling apart mess. Most is either broken, ripped or just worn and VERY dirty. - Master bath has no grout in the floors, mirror broken and other issues - Dirty bedding, stains - Black mold in/inches around air vents above bunk beds in kids room - Black mold can also be found in bathrooms, around numerous windows /walls inside the house and elsewhere throughout the home - Both filters of the house ventilation were packed solid with dust/dirt - Toilet in downstairs is not attached - One of the burners on the stove did not work - Railing on front stairs was broken - Found mini liquor bottles in vents in dining room floor, also garbage in weeds below deck. - Hard, uncomfortable beds throughout, except bunk mattress is worn with a valley - Doors don't lock in most rooms in the house. Doorknob fell off in one of the rooms. -Broken/missing tiles in bathroom -Warm rooms, Portable fans did not work, had to buy our own -Had to also buy our own cleaning supplies to clean/sanitize There frankly is not enough room in this review for me to describe the issues with this house. It needs a major overhaul!!

The property is in need of some minor repairs but as a beach rental home it was perfect for our group of 21 ages 2 to 70. Great layout for our 6 related families. The location is close to all kinds of attractions, the biggest one being the beach. Will definitely consider coming back again.

This house has the best location, right in the beach and super close to great restaurants. Perfect place for a get together of friends to have a fun beach weekend at.

Upon entering the house I understood that we must have been here a week after a fairly intense spring break crew, as there were a few stray bottles and cans in the yard/driveway. Then walked toward the big main window and noted that the ceiling was leaking profusely and causing the spackle/drywall to come down with it. After cleaning that up I ventured upstairs to find an unfinished sliding glass window and trim that was completely missing - causing a substantial draft in that room. I went out back and realized what the issue was - the house was missing siding on ~40% of the upstairs exterior wall. There was a ladder and other construction equipment laying on the roof. It's like the contractor took a break for a few days so that we could pay full price for a partially finished house. Not a great experience.

We had a great time on isle of palm in this home. Owner is very each time work with and house was everything we wanted!

This beachfront home easily accommodates 20+ guests, is steps from the uncrowded beach. Plenty of parking and check-in was very easy, great neighborhood. We also appreciated the pet friendly policy. We were hoping to be as pleased with this home as we have been by all the others we've rented over the years, however this home badly needs maintenance/updating inside and out. Appliances and furniture are in very poor condition with missing handles,, wood frame coming through the fabric on the back of the sofa, oven was filthy. One of the second floor balconies felt structurally unsound and the sliding door was nearly inoperable, falling off track. Hardwood floors in bad shape, bathroom floors with missing/loose tiles, grout flaking off. Hall bathroom door does not lock, master bathroom door very hard to open, had chikdren trapped in there twice,, an 11-year-old and an 8-year-old. Handrail on front steps falls off on one end. We had a couple minor issues on arrival but Gus was very responsive and the problems were corrected quickly. With a generous amount of TLC this could be an awesome property.

806 Ocean Blvd was perfect for our family reunion during covid-19. The only complaint is the cleaning service wasn't up to par, not the owner's fault. The owner was very accomodating.
