Gorgeous home with all the amenities one could possibly need. Perfect location to walk to Northeast Harbor and short drive to experience Acadia. Loved the ping-pong table and fireplace. Would definitely stay again.

The house was wonderful and spacious. The location is close (walking distance) to the town and close to Acadia National Park. It had everything that we were looking for!

We enjoyed our stay at Bella Kai. Beautiful home and we felt so welcome. The owner Heather provided everything we could possibly require. The kitchen was better equipped than most homes. The beds were very comfortable. The outside deck provided beautiful furniture and grills. Heather provided detailed instructions as well as house rules and local activities available in the area. We had beautiful September weather to explore Acadia National Park only 20 minutes away. Thanks Heather for the great experience!

The pictures of this house do not do it justice in real life. The entire house had so much space beyond what we expected, from the enormous garage to the extra butlers pantry and office by the kitchen, to the second living space upstairs, and on. The bedrooms (and closets) were large, as was the deck and outdoor space. We had three generations staying in the house and there was plenty of room, even with sharing of bathrooms. If we lived closer (we traveled for the week from Pennsylvania), we would come every year. The large kitchen island made for easy breakfast and lunch prep before heading into Acadia most days. We lucked out with beautiful weather so spent a ton of time on the deck - meals, dessert, games with the kids, you name it. I was so pleased with the house organization and cleanliness when we arrived. If you are considering visiting Acadia or this area of Maine, definitely consider this rental. It was an easy walk into Northeast Harbor and everyone enjoyed walking around the cute town. I would love to use this property again on a future vacation - we did not want to leave! (6 adults, 4 children)

We had an extremely positive experience. The house is gorgeous! Kid-friendly and well equipped for extended family to spread out and relax together. Quiet area near the scenic Sargeant Drive; convenient to the Island Explorer bus and an easy drive to numerous Acadia favorites.

Heather was so communicative and kept us up to date with everything we needed. The house was beautiful and wasn’t too far from all the attractions (Acadia national park, bar harbor, bar harbor cellars and so much more). The neighborhood was also very quiet and scenic. I would highly recommend coming here and staying at Bella Kai! We can’t wait to come back!

We have stayed in many rentals and this is truly one of the best we have ever stayed in. We loved the roominess of this home, the completeness of the amenities (including baby furniture and children's books), the quietness of the neighborhood, and the small retail/restaurant/waterfront areas within walking distance.

This home is in the perfect location for exploring Acadia National Park and MDI. It is located in Northeast Harbor which has delightful shops, restaurants and a wonderful bakery. The host had a fully stocked kitchen, as well as an outdoor cooker and lobster pot. We had a wonderful time cooking our own lobster and seafood boil. The home is lovely and we were very comfortable there. It is a great home for adults and families with children.

This was our first time to Maine and staying at this property made the vacation a memorable one. The owner was very responsive and the information they provided regarding the things to do locally were very helpful. The house was well maintained.

Place was as advertised. Beds weren’t the most comfortable and were pretty noisy with the slightest movement. Owner was great at communicating. I wish detailed check out instructions are sent at booking or prior to as it sometimes does deter us from booking a place. This goes for most rentals. This particular rental requires you to do all your dishes and wash sheets/ towels prior to departure. Considering check out is at 10, that makes for quite an early morning. We had an 7-8 hour drive home so the owner did work with us on this, but I will say it was beyond frustrating to check in and find dishes in the dishwasher that needed to be put away and towels in the dryers that also needed to be emptied (can’t use it unless we empty it). After 8 hours in the car, the last thing I wanted to do was empty a full dishwasher and dryer. We paid a pretty hefty cleaning fee so I find all of this to be inconvenient.

My husband and I have rented vacation homes all over the world for years, and our stay at Bella Kai was--hands down--the best place we've ever rented. Not only is the house beautiful in its own right, and spotlessly clean, Heather has literally thought of everything (and more) to make the stay comfortable, and the pre-arrival information is beyond helpful and thorough. She (and her father who lives close by) were also incredibly responsive and helpful to all of our inquiries--including a ridiculous call on our part when we arrived because I misread the wifi code that was left for us (sorry, and thanks again, Alan!). We had been looking for a rental relatively close to Acadia National Park for our family to hold a celebration of life for my late father-in-law, and had almost given up on finding anything closer than an hour's drive when Bella Kai appeared in the search results. Maybe it was divine intervention, but we couldn't be more grateful or appreciative that it did. We were five adults--three of whom don't really travel at all--and my mother-in-law kept saying it was like staying in a "castle". I'm a bit more realistic, though, and would characterize it as a very spacious and well-appointed home. The kitchen was well stocked with every necessity--not just utensils, dishes, pots, and pans, but also with a breadth of spices, oil, sugar, flour, tea, coffee...truly more than we have ever had available at a rental. It's entirely possible that much of what's there has been left by prior renters, but even that is lovely of the owners to leave in place. Having the additional butler's pantry with a second refrigerator--and even two coffee makers (drip and Keurig)--definitely made things easier for us, too. All four bedrooms are quite large and the beds comfortable, and the first floor master suite was perfect for my mother-in-law (and bigger than her senior-living apartment). My two regrets are not taking advantage of the jetted tub with the TV mounted above it...would've been an amazing way to relax...and not using the beautiful fireplace in the living room. Next time--because there will be a "next time". We've never rented from the same place twice, but my husband and I agree that we will arrange our next vacation to Acadia around when Bella Kai is available. If you've made it through this lengthy "love letter", you are well aware that we can't recommend this property highly enough.

Thank you for this beautiful home we were able to relax in.. There were amazing little extra items that added up to extra comfort. Communication was better than excellent! We also thought it was nicer than the pictures indicated.

We had a very clean, very well decorated, and very well maintained home for our trip to Maine. We questioned the very unusual request for us to wash & dry the towels and sheets. With Covid I would have expected that to be done by linen service at high temps. I will add that we paid a high cleaning fee which should have covered this. The process also delayed our ability to leave the home earlier. We also had to get up earlier to get it done so we could checkout by 10.

We had a wonderful stay!! The cleaning crew was not out on time at Checkin we had to wait a few minutes over the 4:00 time. Also had an Issue with the breaker. Cleaning crew told us they would call for us so that someone would come fix it. Come to find out they never called but I was able to contact Heather and we got it fixed immediately. She was very easy to get a hold of and responded quickly. Minus that small inconvenience this was an amazing place to stay and my family and I absolutely loved it!

It's hard to compare this house to any other! We have been renting weekly on MDI for the past 8 years, and never EVER have stayed in such a stunning home. The photos make it look nice, but in reality this house is SPECTACULAR. Location, layout, friendliness and responsiveness of the host... Perfection.

We’ll worth the drive and cost to secure two weeks of quietness with my family after a long year of craziness. The only complaint I would state is that the air conditioner units are antiquated and therefore quite loud when they were turned on and had to be used. Otherwise I was extremely pleased and more importantly relaxed (!) the entire time.

We had seamless check in. I called ahead to request adjoining rooms and they were very helpful to shift and make that happen as we had small children with us. Breakfast is limited (Covid, I’m sure) but Stony Hill Diner was excellent and very quick! We would stay here and eat there again very happily!

We loved our stay here. Very lovely house. Great communication with owner. I recommend it to anyone with a large group/family who wants to be on mount Desert Island/Acadia National Park.

This home was so lovely and spacious and over-exceeded my expectations. It was well-appointed with kitchen and cooking amenities and the bedrooms were all so comfortable with lots of space and a window unit in each (although we didn't need it in June). It has a nice, large outdoor patio to enjoy as well. I especially loved the quaint and quiet neighborhood setting and it was so close to Acadia NP! We spent every day walking the neighborhood and admiring the gorgeous houses by the shore. Heather was a wonderful and responsive hostess. If you stay here, check out Seaside Deli and Sweets within a few blocks of the house - great sandwiches and the best cupcakes and macaroons I have ever had, seriously. I would come back to this house again. Out of 5 ladies, we had no complaints!

BellaKai is an incredibly beautiful home! My guest and I felt extremely safe, extremely taken care of, and above all, felt like HOME. The kitchen is incredible! The master bath is to die for! Will DEFINITELY be staying here again! Also, best sleep I have had in over a year! The beds are incredible! The fireplace is another thing that was incredible! Everything was fully stocked! It was amazing!

We just returned from a spontaneous long weekend to Bar Harbor and had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home. It is exactly as described and the perfect place to retreat and luxuriate after happy days outdoors exploring spectacular Acadia. Perfect location, impeccably designed, Kathy (the owner) is very responsive and Jen (property manager) was lovely and kind, making us feel very welcomed when we arrived after the long drive. We felt very safe moving our family bubble here for a much-needed escape from home during the pandemic and were able to relax and enjoy. We had a 5-star experience in every way and would highly recommend this property to friends and family. Thank you, Kathy and Jen!

Everything was great, I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay on MDI. Beautiful house, good location, comfortable furniture, and there was everything you could ever need in the kitchen. As others have mentioned, not having a door on the master bathroom was an inconvenience but it isn't affecting my rating b/c everything else was awesome. We have already talked about going back next year!

My family and I absolutely loved this place. You can tell it’s well taken care of. It’s a great place for family and friends. It’s very well equipped and extremely spacious. When they say spacious on the listing, they REALLY mean it. Heather was great and super responsive. My family and I would love to come back and are hoping to next year!
