Our extended family of 6 had a wonderful stay at this lovely Hawaiian home. Everything about it was exceptional! The home itself was clean and in great condition. All of the needed amenities were provided and the owner and property manager were always available for assistance or to answer questions. We particularly loved the Hawaiian/Polynesian decor of the home! It was exceptional! The location was also amazing! A quick drive took us to Foodland and an area of fun food truck offerings and a few minutes further to the small town of Haleiwa. We shopped there, enjoyed shave ice, and enjoyed several meals including a great meal at Rajanee (Thai food). Many wonderful beaches were close by, including Waimea Bay Beach, Three Tables, and Sharks Cove. The property is located on the beautiful Sunset Beach. Almost every day we enjoyed watching the sunset from our lanai. The house itself is absolutely lovely. We loved the Polynesian decor, the spaciousness of the house, the up to date internet, new tvs and sound system, the fantastic lanai with table and umbrella, plenty of chairs and chaise lounges, a wooden bar facing the ocean, and a hot tub! All four bedrooms had comfortable beds, nice linen, and air conditioning and fans! The family room, which was open to the second story, had a full wall of glass and sliding doors facing the ocean. What an amazing view! The owner went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Thank you! We hope to return soon!

You couldn’t ask for a better location to enjoy the North Shore of Oahu. The owner is very helpful and responsive. The property is just as described. My family and I loved every minute of our stay.

Our family was thrilled to see the beach and waves. A beautiful location, well stocked kitchen, clean as a whistle, comfortable beds, and the smart TVs in every room were awesome, Netflix, Max were all there for us to enjoy at night (great for the kids). The home itself is just like the photos – beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the easy-going staff made our vacation one we will treasure for years. We’ve been to all the islands and this home is by far the most delightful we have experienced. It was our 2nd honeymoon and the relaxed atmosphere created by the Hawaiian décor made us feel like we were in our own romance novel. Couldn’t be better. Also, holding hands, walking down the path that opens onto the beach, well, it was just amazing. We hope to return someday for our 3rd honeymoon and view the incredible sunsets over the oceans again. :)

And it definitely is that. As a teen in the 80s I used to love watching Magnum PI and I always wanted to go to Hawaii to see for myself if it was really like that, and we were not disappointed. The house is right on the beach and exactly like the listing photos, the only thing missing was Magnum’s Ferrari. Darryl keeps the house extremely clean and it is air-conditioned although we never had to turn it on, the weather was great. We can’t say enough about Michel’s home here except that it is wonderful and we will be back!! Thank you for sharing your amazing place in paradise.

This is such a reprise from all of the typical touristy places we've stayed before. Nice, friendly greeting upon arrival. Super wide-open beach. Felt like we were the only ones in a faraway tropical paradise. Really cool Polynesian decor. Look forward to returning!

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! We have stayed at many VRBO’s in Hawaii and the Caribbean and this location has to be seen to be believed! Less than an hour away from the crowded Waikiki beach you will find your own private beach within walking distance of island famous food trucks as well as a grocery store that has everything you need (food, alcohol, various beach supplies). Michel was an amazing host and was responsive and helpful with all of our questions in preparing for our trip. The property caretaker was available for a questions during our stay and gave us excellent advise on local restaurants, hiking trails and even helped our son with fishing location suggestions! Everything at the house is as described in the listing - we loved the retro Polynesian feel of the house and the hot tub on the deck has amazing sunset views! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we bought groceries to cook some meals on the bbq when we didn’t feel like eating out. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) and the house had lots of space for everyone to have their own bedroom and bathroom. We would definitely recommend this for a relaxing island getaway to recharge with all of the amenities close by!

We loved our stay, with 4 adults and 4 teenage boys. Plenty of room for us to spread out and also enjoy the large main room together. Literally steps from the beach -- could not ask for a better location. We called the house "retro Hawaii" because it has the feel of a true Hawaiian beach home. We felt like we could unwind completely. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need and more. We cooked for our larger group and a few additional friends and had plenty to work with. While appliances are a bit dated, they work fine. I was a little surprised to read the previous review about safety. We never felt unsafe in the house or the beach. Everyone needs to be careful these days but we never felt like we were in danger in any way. Quite the opposite actually. One of the best parts about the property is Darryl! He's the property manager and was instantly attentive to anything we needed or asked. We felt right at home with Michel and the property.

Pictures are very old and don’t show the run down moldy bathrooms we wouldn’t shower in! The homeless sleep about 50-75 feet from the 1st floor bedrooms, and you had to put the alarm on if you went to the beach, store, or slept if not they will walk into the home and steal what they can get, that note was left on the table,but even his property mgr warned us! When he mentioned the homeless after I rented it he made it sound like no big deal, but if its not a big deal why am I finding out about the alarm NOW?! We were so scared we had to go to the resort down the way which was less money, and clean! Plus if it’s so safe why does he have 9 cameras on this house?! Bcuz it’s unsafe! Ants everywhere even though we kept our food in a container we bought. Beds have mold and stains on them. Owner didn’t care one bit, and said he has 200 5star reviews- those reviews are lying! pictures on the Vrbo site are over 10 years old! I reported him to Vrbo & will be doing the same with the bbb bcuz I don’t want anyone else to be over 5000miles from home and have to deal with this. I’ve rented from Vrbo over 20+ times & never dealt with anything like this. I wish I could post pictures to prove myself!! Except for the ocean view and deck this house shouldn’t be for rent! The owner will probably attack me for this review but 6 adults over 50 felt this way, but he didn’t want to hear it. He should have refunded us our money bcuz it’s not safe, it’s moldy, & it’s over priced for the filth you get!!

Well, I'd like to keep this VRBO a secret to ourselves, but... Wow, what a place. Magical mornings, sunsets and beach. We spent most of our time on the deck just staring at the ocean. The place is just as described- we loved the Polynesian decor, it's very clean, in a nice neighborhood, with easy access to the market and the darling towns of Haleiwa and Waialua. A wonderful caretaker and host met all our needs.

Highly recommend staying here. Great hospitality.

The house was clean and it was a fun house to hangout. The deck is right up to the sand. Beyond the sand is the ocean and watch the whales swim by (we stayed in February). Everything in the house worked good and there is plenty of room for 8 people. Close to some snorkeling spots and surfing along with zip lining.

The property was just as pictured - clean and sun filled with breathtaking views. We watched whales play in the ocean right from the deck / hot tub. The property included a play n stay for our baby which came in very handy. There are plenty of sand toys and a volleyball / badminton court which we really enjoyed. The WIFI service was strong for remote workers and the living room was large and comfy. This the perfect family fun property!!

This is a lovely house right on the beach!!! A quiet neighborhood but in an easy drive of Haleiwa and Turtle Bay. The house is as pictured and has many kitchen appliances including a mixer and a blender!! We ate at home 4 nights and enjoyed both the charcoal and electric grills. My daughter saw a whale breach right from our deck. The hot tub is a nice addition as the surf was to rough for us to go in the water. Darryl was a gem. Very helpful and always on call when we had a question. Hope to be back. Lovely daventure!

We had a fantastic stay! Thanks for sharing your home. We really liked the traditional Polynesian architecture and the deck / hot tub were favorite hang out spots!! The kitchen had all we needed to cook meals when we did that.

We could have stayed there for ever! It was relaxing and just the right size for the two of us! It was nice walking right out onto the sand and watching the sunset every night! There were very little people so we felt like it was our very own beach! Loved the geckos and chickens! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Oh WOW, the beach house was absolutely AMAZING. The sunsets from the deck were magical - we sat and watched the scene each night. Loved the comfort and ambiance of home, everything we needed was there and more. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen appliances/utensils etc and also had electric & charcoal bbq’s for night dining on deck. Darryl was lovely, he gave us good advice on places to visit and walk through of home when we arrived. It was the most perfect holiday, we didn’t want to leave. Acai bowls in the AM, a well stocked grocery store two minutes away. Go north to Turtle Bay go West to Waimea. Perfect location! The property had everything we needed and some big kahuna flair to it... just tremendous! The North Shore waves were really rumbling while we were there. 20 footers bang the coast and shake the house at times. Makes for an amazing and unique sleep experience. This makes me think about what retirement could look like in 20 years. I loved it!

We cannot say enough good things about this property and the owners/ managers. The property itself is right on the beach which provides a delightful experience. It is clean and well looked after and has everything you could hope for - outdoor warm showers, good amenities etc. The owners and management were so so kind and helped us at every turn when we needed it. (They even cut down fresh coconuts for us!) Lovely place, lovely location and unbelievably kind people. If you are considering Oahu - you cant book a place thats better!

After much research looking for the perfect house on the sand that we knew our French friends would enjoy we decided to book this unique house. Amble room which accommodated all eight of us very well but a bit dated. Location was great being right on the beach at the end of a street. We did have to adjust to the noise of the traffic and the chickens, which only took a day. We loved the outdoor porch and spent the majority of the time outside until dinner time because the table outside didn't seat all eight of us-there is however a bar that four people can sit at. Really enjoyed the beach out back for a walk, a dip in the ocean (mindful of occasional strong currents), looking at the stars at night and of course the beautiful sunsets. Overall the house was equipped well for our weeks stay. We really enjoyed our time and our friends loved the old school charm and told me that they wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The care taker of the property Darryl was one of the most nicest guys we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. So helpful in every way. He went way beyond our expectations! What a sweetheart!! Overall, A great time had by all!!

This is one of the best homes I have stayed in, absolutely incredible location, an amazing sunset every night and one of the best beaches. Daryl the manager was incredible and became a friend over our 7 days. My only complaint is that we didn’t have enough time there 🏝️🚿

We visit Honolulu every year or do for the past 25 years usually at hotels. This year we rented a house and had a blast. We like to cook so it was nice having a kitchen. We’re a north shore family so it was perfect. If your a Waikiki shopping family this is not for you. The only bad thing is the traffic on the 2 lane highway getting in & out. The house is vintage and fun. Old school feel. Thanks Michel and Darryl.

This location and home was great for our multigenerational family with teens and grandparents. There was something for everyone. The beach was never too crowded and almost felt like our own private beach. It is a well built classic Hawaiian tiki house. Our kids were even able to appreciate the unique decor. There was everything you would need in the house, including extra sunscreen, bug spray, etc. We had plenty of paper towels, toiletries, and soap. I would check out the house before you head to the store. Darryl is a wonderful manager who checked in with us during the trip. He is a true gem! There is traffic in the area during certain times of day so plan accordingly. Having the Foodland close by and even walking distance was great when traffic was bad. We could walk to Shark’s Cove for snorkeling. The house can get warm in the afternoon with all the windows but a small price to pay for the outstanding views. The A/C units in each room helped keep us comfortable. Using the window shades when we left for the day also helped keep the house cool in the evenings. The WiFi is excellent while I finished a few work things during our trip. Owner also checked in with us and was a delight to work with. We were very happy with our stay.

The house is amazing! Incredible North Shore location, right on the beach. Beautiful beach, kids were able to swim right in front of the house! House was perfect, AC in bedrooms was awesome, deck and hot tub were perfect! The house manager was great, so nice, so helpful! We got married on the beach right in front and everything was perfect! Perfect house for our family of 8! Would be a great house for two small families also. We hope to return again some day. Mahalo!!!

This home is spectacular, not some ordinary box on the beach. The Hawaiian decorations made us feel like we were truly In a real Hawaiian home. Every room is air conditioned so we were always comfortable, we opened the doors and windows and the Hawaiian breezes just floated throughout the house. It was exceptionally well kept and clean and the beds were all really comfortable. We had an awesome time and will definitely keep this place at the top of our list when we return. Waking up everyday to a view of the ocean that is breathtaking , beautiful spacious home are a few great things. Darryl the property manager is one of a kind. So accommodating and super friendly! The town is quaint, but closes very early. Only a few places late at night to dine but worth it!

We enjoyed our stay. What a great beach vacation! The house was nicely maintained and the perfect choice for our group. The beach is right there, and what a beautiful beach it is.

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent visit to the Sunset Beach House. The air-conditioning works so well, I had to put on a blanket at night. We also love the real Hawaiian style of the home with its tropical furnishings and laid-back vibe. This is truly a touch of paradise and feels like the real Hawaii we all dreamed about when we were kids. We look forward to returning.
