Everything was nice but the only thing we had trouble with was the walk down to the beach from the property. It was a struggle for both my parents and my children as you had to walk between shrubs and it was also quite steep. The way wasn’t paved out properly. I wouldn’t recommend elderly to take the property as it would be a complete struggle to access the beach.

Well set out for a large family with 2 living spaces. Access to the beach was great and in an easy location to early shops. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place with a great view. We loved watching and listening to all the birds flying all around the house. We even saw whales waving at us in the kitchen! Will be back!

Oceanside 161 Marina Lane Culburra The 2nd June 2022 was planned as family time being together for a few days with my 86 year old father. Dad has terminal liver cancer with under 2 months to live. There were 4 generations of us spending time together with Dad being able to escape and sleep when he needed to. My sister and her sons were down from Brisbane; my daughter, her husband and 1year old; my husband and I and Dad from Sydney. My husband and son in law were joining us after work staying Friday and Sat nights only. Seven of us arrived on the Thursday afternoon. While we loved the house and location we were greatly disappointed that there were in fact only 4 bed rooms when the place was advertised as having 5 and accommodating 12 people. This was not ideal and this was our first disappointment. We also found an empty Cruiser bottle on the book shelf. Thursday night following dinner the dishwasher would not work. We tried again in the morning unsuccessfully. The last thing you want to do when away is manually wash dishes. I contacted Professional Holiday Homes and they sent out a handyman who discovered a rusty screw was preventing the door of the dishwasher from closing. Once he corrected this the dishwasher worked. This was the weekend we had the freezing blizzard winds from the south. The gas heater kept the upstairs area lovely and warm. On Friday afternoon there was no hot water for doing the dishes or have a shower and I could not light the gas heater. It was cold and my poor father wore his beanie, slippers and was rugged up with blankets barely keeping warm. Thinking the weekend was looming we needed this issue corrected. I spent some time on the Professional Holiday Homes website looking for who to call as there was no answer form their listed phone number. The second number was the recommended number to call but ‘unable to answer your call right now’ was the response. I then contacted the plumber on call and the female that answered said I would be up for a charge if I got them out which put me off. Thinking I should investigate further, I rang the last number listed, I had not yet called and it was the wonderful handyman. He came out and agreed that both large bottles were empty. He went away and returned with a small BBQ size gas bottle and we had hot water again. Great place to stay House needs a bit of loving but overall great spot

Starting with the positives: The location of this property is amazing, the house has direct beach access from the backyard, and it was very close to the city centre for the many quick trips to the shops (Woolies is really close by). The house is also a stunning house aesthetically, a great size for a bigger group and it is pet friendly. Negatives: Ant and Insect Infested. This house was absolutely infested with ants and other insects. I read the previous Stayz reviews and thought people were maybe being a little bit precious as a few bugs are expected by the beach. However, this house was infested, ants especially were EVERYWHERE. The gathering of ants and insects was instant too, throughout the house, not just in the kitchen where you might have expected a few ants/bugs. We also awoke to find ants in my baby’s portable cot, it was bad. And no amount of bug spray made any difference. This house needs a proper fumigation. Broken fly screens and no ceiling fans. We stayed during a very wet and humid week (floods all up the east coast of Australia) and it was awful withstanding this without fly screens and only a pedestal fan. We went out and bought a few pedestal fans from Woolies to ease the discomfort. Standing water. There was standing water up the side of the property which caused a really bad smell that the downstairs family members had to withstand. It was unpleasant for them, we also bought scented candles at Woolies. Check In is 4pm - such a waste of a day. We arrived at 445pm and the cleaner was also still there cleaning. The cleaner did a great job considering all the bugs she needs to clean up each stay. No clothes dryer. The dryer was broken. When you travel with a big group, a baby and the humidity would not allow anything to air dry, this was very annoying. We were advised that the property managers/owners are fully aware of all the issues but have not done anything to rectify things, which is why I decided to write a review instead. I was tossing up between this property and another, I wish I listened to the reviews and chose the other property now. As a family of health workers, holidays are few and incredibly hard to arrange so it was disappointing to pay a months wage and for there to be as many negatives as there were. Its unfortunate for us, but hopefully the property managers/owners fix things for future customers as this house is actually a really lovely house.
