The unexpected. The house was amazing with all the facilities and extras. The house was so comfortable and spacious. I would definitely recommend it here for a family vacation. And the host, well she couldn't have been more warm and friendly, greeting us with great hugs, smile and treats.

That we had to leave.

We couldn't have wished for a better experience. The property was spacious and spotlessly clean, and upon finding out our flight had been changed and that we would arrive very late on the first night, our host even offered to leave some groceries in the kitchen for us. So so kind, and we felt so welcomed. The pool is a wonderful size and we spent much of our time at the property enjoying it with our 3 year old! There are also games and toys for any children staying there. The beds were comfortable, there were multiple bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we needed. In fact, from the outset, we felt right at home. Although we didn't use it, there is also an additional outdoor seating area with a barbecue. It has an ample sized driveway if you are taking or renting a car. The property also has an upper floor that leads out onto the roof, providin g stunning views and the perfect romantic chill out spot at the end of the night. The location is also perfect. Close enough to drive into the town centre (or catch an Uber) and also very close to neighbouring towns like Lagoa and Portimão. There is one beautiful beach within walking distance and another a short drive away, both with places to eat and drink. There are also a number of attractions close by - we had a blast at Slide And Splash Waterpark! All in all, we can't recommend more highly. We fell in love with Portugal and Ferragudo, and that was hugely influenced by our stay at Casa Das Roseiras.

Wonderful house as presented on booking.com. Basically all applications and tools are available in the house, the pool is great and the beach close by. The owner welcomed us personally and was very helpful. There were many materials in the house pointing to various activities near the house. The beach (Praia dos Caneiros) is close by and in short walking distance. It is big enough even during peak season to find nice spots for staying on the beach. When we were there in summer 2022 most other beaches were affected by some alga but not this beach (maybe because of its location and shape). Our highlight was our hiking trip along the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, which had spectacular views. Supermarkets can be reached by car and Partimao is a few minutes away by car, where you can find all you need.

There is really nothing to complain. Just be aware that the roof terrace and other outside areas of the house had many aggressive mosquitos after sunset (not before) when we were there. So better prepare for that. Also, we only had one of us staying in the basement where is a room for four, the rest of us slept on the first floor. When the bathroom in the basement is not used regularly, it starts to smell from the sink. So take that into consideration when somebody sleeps in the basement (there are two more bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor).

Thrilled to visit Casa das Roseiras after much longtime planning! Casa das Roseiras is THE place to stay in the area. We were greeted with hospitality, cheer and delicious treats after a long travel morning. The property provided everything for a happy area visit - all amenities and facilities in excellent working order, clean, crisp and comfortable rooms, a sweet basement area well equipped for group stay or one with children and good A/C for the hottest days. The lovely private pool was clean and cool, and maintained regularly. The well-supplied grilling area and shady garden were used daily for meals. Cute terrace was perfect for breakfast and evening relaxation with a fabulous view to the water and Portimao - all truly felt like our (sunny and relaxing!) home away from home. Location was perfect for quiet, relaxing time away and exploring the area - Praia dos Caneiros was a tiny walk and our favourite choice. Also enjoyed walking to a few other beaches, Ferragudo for grocery and some meals. Things to note: we are walkers and did need to rent a car, which was fine for us and suited our needs, but some may find busier venues a bit far if not used to walking. There was amble parking space if needed. Local bus service #52 or #110 (vamus) fairly reliable as well for commuting along coast. Overall, most highly recommend Casa das Roseiras, would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Ana for your hospitality, suggestions and sharing this sweet place <3

Leaving

The house is big. We only had two adults and two very young children, but there are two double beds and a kids’ room with four single beds, so two families could stay together. Ana was a nice host, who made our stay much more enjoyable by providing a baby bouncer for our five-month-old without us even asking. There was also a good selection of toys for our eldest. There was a decent stock of basics too (bin bags, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper, oil etc). The pool is really nice, bigger than we expected. There is also air conditioning throughout the house. The house is opposite El Paradis restaurant, which has lovely staff, good food and a playground, so is ideal to make a regular visit of.

The hot water upstairs ran out quite quickly. That wasn’t a problem for our small party but if the house was full then guests would need to stagger showers. The kitchen was fine but might be small for a big group and, like most rental properties, had an electric hob (not induction) and only had small pans and glasses. Other than the beach and restaurant, everywhere was a drive away (2k to Ferragudo is too far to walk with children in the summer heat).

Quick and easy contact with the really friendly host Ana. Nice small gift on arrival: delicious granola 😊. Unbelievable complete equipment of the house and very hiegenic. We liked the different terraces with the most romantic sunset roof terrace possible. Very nice town with super friendly people. Highly recommended!
