We had a lovely stay at Casa Sophia - we were a family 4 (kids are 8 and 10). Really cool property to be at the top of the canopy - there are monkeys galore! The house is nice and big and the pool was clutch for the hot days.

Enjoyed our stay. Morning Monkey visitors. Very comfortable and well equipped. The hood getting there is a bit sketchy nut so are many houses I’ve stayed at before.

Everything about the house, the communication, and the assistance with planning our vacation was perfection. We couldn’t have had a better experience and can’t wait to return. Thank you for the experience!

House is cool, roomy with great views across Manuel Antonio to ocean. Pool was small but perfect to wallow in and watch the wildlife- squirrel and capuchin monkeys; toucans, iguanas, scarlet macaws and giant crickets. Kitchen was very well equipped and had all the home comforts- washing and drying machines. Dishwasher, blender and waffle maker. Shop just a few mins walk away had everything we needed - even vegan options. We loved it and were sad to leave. Great base for all the local activities.

We absolutely loved our week-long stay at Casa Sophia. The house is beautiful and large (the pictures do not do it justice) and has everything you would need for a great vacation. Kent and Carli helped us arrange transportation from SJO to the rental car in Quepos, our day trips, and our guided tours which is such a nice perk. Everyone was so responsive and available when we had any questions or concerns. When the internet went out in the neighborhood because some monkeys got to the wires, Carli offered us another house to use for the day just so we could check email. Remember to look out at the beautiful view frequently, as animals can seem to appear out of nowhere. We had a troop of about 25 squirrel monkeys pass through, along with some capuchins (one with a baby on its back), and even saw a sloth. There are also a pair of black iguanas that seem to like the pool deck as their sunny spot. Although driving and parking in Manuel Antonio can be a bit tricky, we recommend renting a car so you have the freedom to get around. The only thing we would change about the property would be to add room-darkening blinds to the master bedroom, but that's a minor issue in an amazing property. You cannot go wrong with Casa Sophia and highly recommend this property!

The process of renting was effortless. It was very easy through VRBO. Once that was done everything fell right into place. Pictures don't do this home justice. The views, animals and the sounds of rain while sitting out on the balcony was so relaxing. It was our first vrbo we normally do all inclusive resorts but I think after this experience this maybe the way we travel.

Our stay at Casa Sophia was wonderful! Both Kent and Winny were extremely helpful and responsive before and during our trip. The house was beautiful, just as pictured, and was the perfect place to spend our week in Manuel Antonio.
We saw so much wildlife all from the comfort of the living room. The kids had fun playing in the pool and bird watching from the pool deck. We all enjoyed the open layout of the house. The bed rooms and bathrooms were very well appointed. Just all in all a wonderful stay. Thank you so much!

The hideaway
The property is gorgeous and the pool is nice. The house is tucked away so it is very private, with beautiful views. Very close to Manuel Antonio National Park which is a must see. Winny was very responsive when I had questions. I would stay again.

Great place. Book it
Perfect. Kent is great, the home is exactly like the pics. The only small issue I had, was the water did not get that hot in the master bath shower. And the jacuzzi tub is awesome but takes FOREVER to fill because the water pressure with only hot water is low. But def worth staying. The views are amazing and close to everything!! Kent is helpful and responsive.

Beautiful, Well Equipped Home with Excellent Pool and A/C
Amazing Master Suite upstairs with gorgeous jungle canopy view. The bed was excellent, very comfy. Lots of room and storage.
2nd Bedroom was also very nice with deck access and a good mattress and shower.
3rd, “red” bedroom, while beautiful, was not so great. The mattress was very thin and guests were uncomfortable the whole time. A better mattress for this room was the only complaint.
This was our first time to Costa Rica and we spent so much time outside of the home exploring! To come back to this nice home after a long day of fun and cool off in the pool was perfect! The master suite was SO nice and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Laundry room was nice.
The House manager, cleaning, pool and maintenance staff were exceptional! Very helpful and did an amazing job.
Our family looks forward to visiting again and would definitely stay at Casa Sophia again.

Jungle get away but close to town.
We had an amazing time staying at this home. The kitchen is fully stocked with just about everything you could want for cooking. Every room is nicely decorated and very clean. All the beds, sheets and pillows are very comfortable and not to mention the outdoor deck over looking the jungle.
This home has plenty of room for a large group of people. There are so many sitting areas for your guests to enjoy them selves. The master bedroom is amazing and is like a suit all by its self. The out door enclosed deck off of the master is a great place to Sit with the windows open after a day at the beach.
The pool area is a little small and could use a table and chairs but in general still very nice. It also has a gas grill out on the carport. The house is very secure with an alarm system and a scure gate to get in to the home.
The only few things that I found that were a down side to the home. The two cabinets for the dishes were way to high,
I guess that is why they have a step stool. The other was the breakfast bar is also to high. It's a little hard to get in and out of the bar stools.
I would highly recommend this hone as your vacation get away

Casa Shophia is Wonderful
Casa Sophia was the perfect house for our family vacation. Such a beautiful, spacious house in a great location, just up the road from the best restaurants and beaches in Manuel Antonio. We felt very safe at this house. We were visited daily by the monkeys and even had a Sloth hanging on the tree right out in front of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped. Our concierge, Kent, arranged ziplining, a Mangrove boat tour to Nasarcosta and National park tour. It was all perfect. Aleyda, the housekeeper was a delight. Thank you Casa Sophia, we will be back. Fabulous house!
A beautiful home located in a friendly neighborhood within walking distance to supermarket, and some restaurants. Very comfortable beds, lots of room to spread out and enjoy the beautiful view, which is exactly as pictured. Our concierge was wonderful in helping us when we needed anything. One of the best vacations we’ve ever had!

Gorgeous!
The house was gorgeous. We arrived to a chef that made us dinner (fee) and it was delicious. The house and location was more than we could have hoped for. There is a small store very close by and restaurants within walking distance. If I were to do my trip again, I would spend more time here!

Beautiful location and house
We were four adults and a two year old. Everything was enjoyable. The house was clean and had everything you would need. The house is set above the canopy so you see animals and bids from and differ perspective. We saw scarlet macaws, Tucson, monkeys, hummingbird birds, butterflies, and a three towed sloth. The house was very nice, and as other reviews have stated the pictures don’t do the house justice.

We loved it
The property is beautiful, spacious, private, safe, clean and really comfortable. We felt right at home! The view is fantastic. We spent a lot of time on the porch watching for monkeys and trying to identify the source of all of the unique sounds that we don't have in the Midwest. The location between Quepos and Manual Antonio is great, but you definitely need to rent a car to get around easily. There are endless restaurants and things to see and do. We wished we could stay for a month!

Impeccable, private and cozy place
Casa Sophia is much more beautiful than in the pictures. Excellent communication with Kent. The cleanliness is impeccable, a cozy and very private place, very well equipped. Delivery services from restaurants and supermarkets available. We were able to see lapas, iguanas, and monkeys inside the property, which was fascinating for our daughter.

Located just outside the main tourist area of Manuel Antonio national park and 500m from very good local restaurant casa Sofia is a very beautiful property.
The inside is very spacious for 2 families of 4. There is secure parking for 2 cars.
Our families loved the pool and deck. From the deck we saw up close 2 types of monkeys every day during our 3 day stay.

We were so happy at our stay at Casa Sophia! The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. So spacious! Vanessa was beyond helpful and the maid service was a real treat for us, we did not expect this at all .The pots and pans and the kitchen items needed to prepare meals were very nice quality. The only suggestions, we were constantly washing up forks, spoons and knives. A few extra of those would make the house beyond the best! We did a few activities, fishing on the Cowboy with Capt yeri and Luis was the best, we caught 5 Mahi Mahi and one sail fish! We ate fish all week. 4 wheeling and zip lining was great too. Vanessa set this up with Manuel Antonio Safari adventures, the lunch was delicious! A day at the park was great and we loved our horse adventure with Randall and again had a delicious lunch. Thank you again and we do hope to return.

Casa Sophia is a gem
Casa Sophia is a welcoming and comfortable home at the end of the street within a local neighborhood. There is a market and "tipico" restaurant within easy walking distance operated by friendly local entrepreneurs. The concierge Vanessa was very helpful with arranging a pizza delivery the night of our arrival!! She also easily coordinated several excursions and obviously had great local contacts to help with other requests during our stay. We had a relaxing and fun week - including enjoying the wildlife (capuchin monkeys!), toucans, parrots and geckos that we could see from the porch. We highly recommend this home and location within easy walking and driving distances to many Manual Antonio and Quepos amenities.

Casa Sophia Costa Rica
We had an amazing experience renting Casa Sophia in Manuel Antonio. Vanessa, our property manager/conceriege couldn't have been more helpful. She surpassed our expectations and even gave us home baked breakfast bread for our last morning. All the recommendations and reservations she made were excellent. A first class experience.

Best vacation ever!
This property is beautiful and the location is perfect. It's a short walk into town and when at the house you are nestled in the jungle. Vanessa met us at the house and was there to see us off. Anything we needed she took care of. It was amazing. We didn't even rent a car because she arrange transportation to and from San Jose, gave us numbers for cab drivers in case we needed them - it was truly the easiest experience of my traveling life. We rented the house with two other couples and it was perfect for us.

Beautiful spacious house for 6 adults
Beautiful spacious house for 6 adults With nice open floor plan. Our concierge Vanessa was wonderful to work with. She arranged our transportation, tours, and a chef. Plus she had groceries delivered to house when we arrived. This was helpful since we didn’t get to the house until midnight. The weather was really nice for us the entire week we stayed at Casa Sophia so we were able to lounge by the pool. The gas grill came in handy too. The entire family enjoyed the house and Costa Rica. We saw several iguanas, 3 monkeys on our last day and a toucan at the house.

Our entire stay was such a pleasure and the pics are just a tease!
Vanessa, the Property Agent was so very attentive and responsive to everything we could have wanted. We just left a home in La Fortuna for 3 days and that Owner needs a Vanessa :-) ! The home was spotless, the amenities were beyond & the views were breath taking. There were only 2 couples which gave us each so much space and quiet when we needed it. We saw a resident green iguana every day & finally saw monkeys the day before we left. Proximity to Manuel Anthonio National Park was a breeze and we LOVED the cafes & restaurants on 168. Emilios Cafe , El Avion & El Patio were highlights. The only issue was small, which was the hot & cold in the shower was intermittent, good thing the weather is warm! Late November early December is THE time to go enjoy La Pura Vida! Get a guide for the Park AT THE GATE, being sure he speaks your language AND has a telescope.

Stunning!!
This place couldn’t be more beautiful! Everything was spectacular from the architecture to the appliances to the views! I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful stay. Everything was great and we even saw monkeys while washing the dishes. The owners were friendly professional and accessibile. I will recommend this place to anyone I know that will be traveling to the area! If trying to choose between two places choose this one !

Fantastic getaway in a convenient location!
Our family of five booked this house not knowing what to expect. We had never been to Costa Rica, and knew nothing about this particular location near Manuel Antonio Park. As we drove down the narrow, winding approach road after dark, we thought we were headed into the jungle! But there was Vanessa at the gate, waiting to greet us! She then gave us the tour of this beautiful home, which is fantastic in every way: Fully equipped, pristine condition, updated appliances, spacious bedrooms, spectacular views of the forest and ocean in the distance, well maintained pool, etc. The location is very convenient to several of the best restaurants in the area, which are not in downtown Quepos but rather farther south along the coast near Casa Sophia. The nearby restaurants all had great views of the coast. It's also a real pleasure walking the quarter mile from the house along the approach road to the friendly corner grocery for basic supplies. Moreover, Vanessa was a great resource, giving us all the information we needed to take full advantage of our time there. She knows the area well, has all the inside scoop, and can set everything up for you, including all activities and dinner reservations. In short, our family gives Casa Sophia our enthusiastic recommendation, two thumbs up, five stars, you name it!

Truly a gem!
Our stay at Casa Sophia was simply outstanding. The house is spacious and luxurious, and the scenery is to die for. Monkeys and wildlife abound and the people in Manuel Antonio are some of the friendliest anywhere. I can't imagine having to stay at a hotel after staying in paradise at Casa Sophia. Vanessa, our concierge did an outstanding job arranging and changing activities for us. I can't say enough good things about this place. I would highly recommend it!!!!

Beautiful house!
We loved Casa Sophia. I was there with my husband, our 10 month old and my in laws. The layout of the house is great (especially if you have young children or are with older adults). It's absolutely beautiful in person (and spotless). The pool and pool deck were very nice. We had daily visits from the monkeys, and there was a sloth outside of the living room on one of the trees as well. Aside from this being a wonderful place to stay, Vanessa from Manuel Antonio Properties was fantastic to work with from before we arrived to during our stay. She was available for any questions, she helped with airport transportation, beach and restaurant recommendations, etc. I highly recommend Casa Sophia and Manuel Antonio Properties. We will definitely be back!

Great house in a great setting!
Loved this place. Super comfortable house with all of the amenities and a great feel. Even nicer than the photos. Sitting areas abound, tastefully decorated, all bathrooms are ensuite, little details provided (laundry soap, coffee, tea and even bug spray - which by the way wasn't necessary in the dry season), kitchen super usable and well supplied (yes, as others have commented, the dishes are high (we saw this in other houses in Costa Rica too) but it allows a window at the sink with great views of the monkeys in the trees, we just put our dishes in the pantry to make it easier - plus the maid had set the table so many of the dishes were already down anyway). The really great thing about this place, aside from it being a great house with a nice refreshing pool, is that you see more animals while relaxing at home than we did at the Manuel Antonio Park and Rainmaker Park! Titis (endangered squirrel monkeys) came by (20-40 of them), even several babies clinging to their mommas, every morning and many evenings, we also had visits from capuchin monkeys, coatimundis, iguanas, motmots, and other beautiful birds. This helped make our trip spectacular. Jonathan, from the property management company, was awesome and very helpful when we needed it. We had a couple of hiccups and he handled them graciously and quickly. He also booked excursions for us at the same price as booking yourself yet we in no way felt pressured to book through him. The information was simply there with his phone number - call if you need his services, or not. Great place!

Great home, very comfortable!
I stayed at Casa Sophia with my parents on a family trip in Manuel Antonio. My mother is handicapped, and she stayed on the lower level, which was easy for her. The house has everything you need to make you feel at home. Furthermore, it's beautiful to have a perspective over the canopy. The monkeys came by nearly every day!

Talk about a relaxing home....
This is such a lovely home. The kitchen is roomy and provided everything we needed. A short walk to the grocery store is just that, a short walk. The mattresses in all bedrooms were not old at all. The beds you could tell were newer mattresses and very comfortable. Just everything about the home was nice, open and comforting. The pictures of the home and views are very accurate. The deck has a nice view of the ocean at a distance and the forest just below. Every day and I do mean every day, monkey were visiting. We had Tiki and White Face monkeys. One monkey even watched my son swim in the pool as it curiously watched while sitting on the rail. Also, I do want to point out something very important: my son came down with two very bad ear infections. Kent and Estela were so very helpful with referring me to a Dr. I can't began to thank you enough for the help you provided and driving us there. Thank you so very much. My son was in so much pain and the Dr. was able to see us late in the evening and we would not have been able to fly out had it not been for your help. Now, would I stay here again, absolutely. This was our second visit to Costa Rica and I would trust Kent and Estela with another vacation rental. They really go above and beyond.

Wonderful secluded house with great facilities!
We loved our stay at Casa Sophia, at he end of an exhausting day on our various jungle excursions we loved heading back home (that is how Casa Sophia felt to us) and relaxing. Everything about the house is of superior quality, and that included our lovely hosts Kent and Estella.
A great place to base yourself if you are looking for a place to stay in Manuel Antonio!

Great views!
My wife and I stayed at Casa Sophia for a weekend in April 2013. The home is beautiful, comfortable, very cozy, well equipped and close to the National Park, restaurants and the beach. The house is surrounded by a vast natural life; you can see monkeys and many kind of birds, just in the deck! The views are impressive, principally from the master bedroom and bathroom, which has an incredible and very romantic Jacuzzi!
