This is a great place to stay! Quiet area, but close to the wineries & restaurants. The house has a considered touch - if we wanted to cook, the kitchen is well stocked, the bathrooms supplied with oft forgotten incidentals. The lavender epsom salts were a perfect addition to a much needed soak in the tub at the end of a long hot day! The beds were comfy with soft sheets. 10/10 would stay again!

Quick get together with the daughter we don’t get to see that much. Had a great time at the Big D concert Friday night. The north rim of the canyon did not disappoint. The Moon house was great - Comfortable, well stocked, and way nicer than advertised.

This is a gorgeous location, quiet but only a mile or so from Hotchkiss and 20 minutes from Paonia. It's a big home, plenty of room and everything you need. I did not hear any highway noise, just the sprinklers hitting the siding one morning. Well stocked with condiments. We went to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP and it was only 30 minutes to the north rim. Don't miss it. And such few people, at least on a Tuesday. Great hike on the rim.
The telescope for the moon was so cool.
The owners told me about the Farmers Market on Tuesday night in Paonia and that was fun and delicious to take part in. Convenient grocery stores in Hotchkiss and good places to eat.
I wish the bedroom had some black out curtains but the home was everything you'd need.

We so enjoyed staying at the "Moon House!" As the name suggests, there were little "moon" touches throughout the house from pictures, to a puzzle of the moon and a "Shoot the Moon" game. And, if you wanted to, you could view the real moon through the house telescope. What fun! The hosts, Chadwell and Carissa, were responsive and timely and clear in their communications. They made us feel so welcome without being intrusive and their dog, Charlie, welcomed us and checked on us daily. We hated to leave to come home. If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet place to stay for a few days, look no further. We would definitely stay again!

Tom and I truly enjoyed staying at the Moon Cottage. It was quiet, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We wanted a quiet place to spend time out of the car on our summer road trip and this was perfect. We relaxed during the day, doing a few hikes, and then would go to a winery for dinner and a glass of wine. It was very relaxing for us and our dog,Harley, loved the large yard.

Great spot for adventuring in Hotchkiss and Paonia. Only downside was that you need to drive to get to a walking/hiking trails. Nice having a fenced in yard for the dogs to run around in.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Moon House in Hotchkiss. It's a perfect location for visiting the local wineries. The home is very clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. We had everything we needed and then some. We had all the instructions we needed, and everything went very smoothly. We would have no qualms about returning to the Moon House on future trips to the area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the moon house, and found the house itself to be spacious, comfortable, and had all the amenities one could expect including a full pantry, utensils, and cookware. Check in and check out process was smooth and easy and we will return to the moon house next time we visit family in Hotchkiss.

Just perfect
The Moon House was perfect! You can tell the hosts take great pride in preparing for their guests. So many times we've been met with a few towels, 1 spare roll of t paper, 2 laundry pods, a little bit of hand soap... you get the picture. NOT at the Moon House. So well stocked plus plenty of extras... travel toothbrushes, epsom salts, paper products, water bottles in each bedroom, etc. Very peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
