My family enjoyed staying at this place. It had a cozy cabin feel. My two girls 4 and 6 enjoyed the books, markers and games. Kitchen is cozy but well stocked. The location is outside the "downtown" area of Arnold, close to Calaveras Big trees, which makes it a convenient drive to Bear Valley.

Our stay in this beautiful cabin was amazing! We absolutely loved it. It was exactly what we were looking for in our road trip to California from Texas. Our host Carol was everything we could ask for. Great communication from the moment we booked a year in advance. We got to experience what the locals told us was the first snow of the year, it was so beautiful. This cabin had everything you need when you’re looking to just get away. 10/10 Would definitely recommend and if we’re ever back in the area, 100% will stay here again! We had a great time staying at the cabin. The house is clean with all the kitchen supplies. The owner is very responsive even on the Christmas Day. We had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend to family and friends for this place.

Carol's lovely cabin stands apart from other properties! Very well-maintained, clean, and warmly furnished, this a-line cabin is a real find. It is clear that Carol has spent a lot of effort making sure her guests have everything they could need. We will most certainly stay again!

We stayed over a labor day holiday. Even with stormy weather we had a great time thanks to Carol's thoughtfulness stocking this cabin full of books art supplies and so many games and puzzles. This place had the best stocked kitchen I have ever stayed at. We needed nothing. Thanks Carol for the opportunity to precious family time in comfort in the amazing sierra Nevada's.

Used this cabin for summer vacation. Great cabin for family of 4 with kids. Everything was great. Our small kids shared a queen bed. Has AC upstairs which feels so necessary in summer. Always saying “oh good they have [something]“. Great care has been taken to provide good quality household goods. Soft plush towels ! No dishwasher and 1 bathroom, fyi. Loved it.

We spent 5 days at the Brown Bear Hideaway, and we had a great time. The cabin was clean and had everything we could have wanted (including a good selection of kids books and games). We visited in December and spent time around Bear Valley, but the area closer the cabin looks very nice and i'm sure it's worth exploring further during the summer. Overall, a great experience and a place we would definitely visit again.

Brown Bear Hideaway is like home from home. We've stayed 5-6 times now, whether visiting in summer or winter we have always has a fabulous time and the house is always clean, tidy, comfortable & well equipped.

We enjoyed our stay at the B.B. Hideaway. The location was perfect for accessing our hiking destinations. The cottage was furnished with very comfortable furniture as advertised. Well stocked with games, books, DVD's and kitchen items. We appreciated the welcome goodie bag. We used it on our picnics on the lakes. We will plan to return again and stay @ this lovely home.

This is a great spot. We had a great time. Also perfect for kids! Tons of art supplies.

Exactly as advertised - a charming, comfortable cabin in a lovely neighborhood with great amenities (if you choose to pay for them) and proximity to Big Trees Park, Alpine Lake, Murphys, and other mountain wonders.

We so enjoyed our stay at the Brown Bear Hideaway! The cabin worked so well for our family of four and the convenience and proximity of Blue Lake Springs amenities was a perk. Brown Bear hideaway is a gem and we enjoyed all the love and care to the smallest details that has clearly been put into this home. Arnold is a beautiful area and we were able to enjoy explorations close by at Big Trees NP, a jaunt into Murphys and return to the cabin for rest, puzzles and stargazing on the deck! Thanks for a memorable stay!

Everything was great with this cabin. Plenty of room for the 3 of us. Only thing that could be improved was the coffe maker only made 4 cups and husband and I can do that within minutes of waking🤣 Owner was super responsive and helpful. Thank you.

Great little cabin with a central location with easy access to highway 4, the clubhouse and pool. Cabin was clean and cozy and had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. We loved hanging out outside and enjoyed the big patio and BBQ.

We loved the deck, the comfortable beds and there were lots of great kid games and books in the cabin.

Brown Bear Hideaway is a gem! This was our second stay there, a little relaxing getaway for the valley heat for my birthday. We hiked in Big Trees, enjoyed some relaxing time at Brown Bear playing games together, eating and enjoying wine on the patio. Our entire stay was a perfect birthday getaway. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brown Bear Hideaway! The location was great - close to Arnold and Big Trees, and it was nice to walk through the community. We didn't use the various amenities available through the community, but it was nice to know it's there. The cabin was roomy for the two of us, and we loved sitting out on the deck. Kitchen was well outfitted, and the bed was very comfortable.

The cabin was cozy and well-appointed with everything my dad and I needed for a weekend of skiing at Bear Valley. Would highly recommend!

We loved our stay here, the stores are very close to the cabin. There is also activities to do near the cabin, like the calaveras park and a lake near by. We went to bear valley to do snow activities and it was only a 30 min drive. I would stay here again.

The cabin was wonderful and Carol was very welcoming and responded immediately when we reached out to her. Even though there was snow on the ground when we arrived the driveway had been cleared and the house was warm. The cabin is very well equipped and had everything we could possibly need. It is also close to Bear Valley for skiing and many other places of interest too. We enjoyed visiting Columbia State Park and the caves in Murphy too. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return in the summer !

Adorable little cabin perfectly located in Arnold - about 30-ish minutes from Bear Valley and 15ish minutes from Murphys. Well stocked with all the amenities you'd need - we loved the fireplace (gas operated) and kid sized chair that our toddler liked sitting in, and appreciated having laundry. We arrived late and the string lights were on which was super charming and a welcome touch. Even saw deer roaming the property! Only things to note are that there's no dishwasher (I imagine few of the cabins here have) and the TV is a bit far away from the couch, but in general it was a very delightful stay!

Perfect for a small family. We put my 11 year old son upstairs and he liked having his own area. Could be tricky with a bigger group with only one bathroom. Perfect for what we needed. Would definitely go back!

Beautiful updated little cabin. Comfy, cozy and clean. Easy to arrange. Exactly the escape my little family needed. Enjoyed The big trees in the snow and a gorgeous snow mobile day at Bear. We loved our stay! The place was very clean and the owner has thought of everything you could need. The place was warm and cozy when we arrived. The heated beds were amazing. Having the washer and dryer was great after days playing in the snow. The kitchen has almost everything you could think of. We made several large meals and the cabin had everything we needed, except a waffle iron, but we brought our own. The cabin is very easy to find. It's very quiet, yet close to town in case you forget anything. The only thing we didn't like is the dining area is very dark; the dining room light doesn't give off much light. This wouldn't stop us from coming back though, we loved it! Thank you for having us!

My family and I stayed here a week after a major snow storm. The driveway and walkway was cleared making it very easy to access the cabin. There was plenty of snow and we had a nice hill behind the cabin we turned into a sled run for the kids. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay in the middle of winter. From the heated blankets, gas burning stove, wall heaters, and additional heaters stored in the kitchen, we were able to stay warm when it was 30 degrees outside. Plenty of games and cable TV kept us occupied when we got back to the cabin after our days out on the slopes at Bear Valley. Would definitely like to come back here during the summer to enjoy the community lake. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely go back.

Honestly, the pictures undersell this place, and the pictures look good. This is a nice A-frame style cabin with some updated decor. It was comfortable and had a good balance of modern amenities and traditional cabin attributes. For example, there was wifi and Xfinity tv service, as well as a selection of DVDs. However, if you preferred to be off screen, there was a wide selection of board, family games and books. The inside was clean and comfortable with a nice living area space and spacious loft up above. The property, manager, Carol, was very helpful to us and communicated with us frequently when a heavy snow storm came through and dumped several feet of snow. She was flexible and helpful. We hope to be able to return there in the future.

We enjoyed a great few days over Thanksgiving in Carol's well kept clean cabin. We loved the quiet neighborhood which was centrally located for our needs.

Overall happy with our stay at this property. Owner provided clear instructions for accessing the house and everything inside. Everything went super smoothly and we never even had to reach out. The home had everything we needed for a few days stay in Arnold!
