Very comfortable, all necessary ingredients for a nice fire, though some smoke does come inside the house, should clean out chimney I suppose :-). Kitchen has everything you need, we cooked some. TV situation was very good, which was nice because it was so cold and windy when we were there.

This is our 5th visit here. House has everything you need. Location, views, jacuzzi, comfortable beds, you name it. Highly recommend! We will be back.

We absolutely loved the cabin and all of the antique decor. Plenty of room for our family of 6 that stayed. The road to the cabin is a little scary because it's so steep (especially for us Floridians used to the flat roads LOL) and the cabin is at the very top! But that also adds to the amazing views...you may need AWD or 4x4 during snowy times. The kids had so much fun with the games.

Phenomenal views and fabulous mountain home! Wish we had stayed longer. We are use to the high country and this one was truly at the top of the mountain. The amenities were great and looking forward to a revisit soon!

Great central location to the towns in the area.

We came to the area from Michigan for a wedding. It was our first time in North Carolina. It was beautiful. The house was perfect and everything was just as described in the description. They view of Grandfather Mountain was amazing from the porch. The owner was great to work with and was very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

An excellent choice for your mountain vacation! The location was great - very private and nice views but still convenient to Boone and Blowing Rock. The cabin itself felt more like staying at someone's home. This was a strong plus for us, though judging by one or two of the other reviews some people prefer a more hotel-like experience. We particularly appreciated the hot tub on the deck and the gameroom downstairs. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing, and I would gladly choose this rental again in the future.

We enjoyed staying at owls roost. We had everything we needed. Game room was a nice touch, especially for the kids. The hot tub was also nice after a long day of walking. The drive up to the cabin had my 80 year old parents a little nervous, the first time, but they survived.

Beautiful mountain cabin. Could not have asked for a better place to relax. Wonderful view of Grandfather Mountain. Dear grazing in the yard while we drank our morning coffee. Well stocked kitchen. Close to everything. Just up the way from a beautiful city park with the Watauga river running through it. I remembered the door code wrong, sent an email to the owner and he called me within a few minutes to get me the code and answer any questions that I might have. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Myself and 6 friends came to ski at Beech and hangout for my birthday weekend. The cabin is at the top of the mountain, so very private, but a bit of a steep narrow drive. AWD/4WD recommend! Plenty of parking at the top for at least 4-6 cars. Check-in was easy- electronic lock. The cabin was comfortable — however a week before our stay, the owner sent a letter saying they would not be providing towels or sheets for the beds, and if we wanted them it would be an extra charge. I took off one star for this. We really enjoyed the hotub and huge fireplace, and the balcony and retro arcade were fun! It is about a 30 minute drive to Beech, and there are not really any grocery stores or restaurants nearby - so be prepared for that. Another thing to note would be the clutter —they have a cute owl theme going on, but there is so much furniture and knick-knacks in the house that there really isn’t space for luggage, and it’s a bit challenging to walk around. Overall, Owls Roost is a great getaway spot for a small group, and despite a few challenges, we really enjoyed our time there.

Wayne was wonderful to communicate with and we had a terrific long weekend at their home. You can’t beat the views!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It's a nice location and nice property. Unfortunately, we experienced several difficulties with the owner, which detracted from the experience: 1). After booking and paying (including add-on insurance), we were informed that our dates were not available and had to reduce our stay by 1 day. The calendar on the website should be updated so this doesn't happen to future guests. 2). The house was cluttered with decor and holiday decorations, and bedroom drawers were full of junk and trash. The property owner charged us for moving a few decorative items. The property should better communicate that no decorative items may be moved. And, I would recommend the owner clear out drawers so that guests can put there things somewhere. Furthermore, the children found vape cartridges under one of the beds, which was a hazard. 3). Overall, we found the owner to be intrusive (calling during our stay without a compelling reason), rude (tone of emails/communication), and argumentative (when we explained our experience).

We went to celebrate my husband’s bday! Owls’ Roost offered the perfect cozy mountain cabin... We loved the fireplace, hot tub and game room, so much fun for all! We skied but the highlight was the place for sure!

We were in Boone on college visits and booked the property for two families. It was amazing. Beautiful views of Grandfather Mountain and great outdoor space to relax. Will definitely be back!

We loved our time at "Owls Roost" !! The house was large enough to accommodate our family of five. It was clean and comfortable; kitchen was fully stocked; the beds were perfect; wifi worked great and fast. Our favorite "room" was the HUGE shaded porch with lots of high quality, comfortable furniture. The kids loved the game room and the adults loved the privacy / quiet that game room provided :-) The hot tub was great, even in late July. Wayne was easy to get ahold of and quick to respond. We will definitely stay there again in the future if the opportunity arises.

Owls Roost is a lovely, well appointed, very comfortable cabin. Wayne is responsive to any and all questions. It worked well for us and I would definitely rent it again!

My family of 7 stayed and the views sitting on the deck was amazing! We stayed out on the deck a lot of the time and enjoyed the hot tub with a Mountain View. The home itself was huge, beautiful, and very comfortable. We had more than enough room to not be on top of each other. We went back to the 80s playing Pac-Man and Centipede on the 80s arcade machine! We enjoyed being able to sit down and enjoy meals and movies together at a slow country pace. Definitely returning in the fall. Did I mention how beautiful the views were?!

This is one of the best mountain houses I’ve ever stayed in. The view was gorgeous, the hot tub was relaxing, beds were comfy, and loved the location in Valle Crucis. Our toddler slept downstairs and we rented a crib from Babyquip which was really easy! Highly recommend this place. We will be back.
