This was a great place to stay. Lots of room for all 10 of us! The house was well stocked and the pool was great. We picked oranges and star fruit from yard which were delicious! I would recommend folks staying here if you have a large group!

The listed price is for 2 people only! Take this into consideration if you are a larger group, as the actual cost will be more than double or triple the nightly rate that is listed. The reality is that this is a 3 bedroom home (of which you have access to two, unless you pay more). The available “bedrooms” are ADUs, one of which is a garage. When I messaged the host to confirm the number of guests, I was asked to pay more than double what I already had and he unscrupulously suggested that I pay the extra amount directly to his bank. These were the first two red flags from this host. There is no cell service here and the Internet is unreliable (once due to a power outage). There was a plumbing problem that appeared to be a known issue to the host, and instead of taking care of this, I was provided a phone number to a plumber. In lieu of paying double what I already had, we chose to book different accommodations for the rest of our group. Other than using this location as a place for my grandmother and I to sleep, my family spent our vacation at the other accommodation. Despite our very minimal use, the host fabricated a damage claim and attempted to withhold the security deposit. We are responsible renters and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to any of us. Luckily VRBO stepped in and requested evidence of the damage, after which the host returned the deposit in full. If you choose to stay here, purchase renter's insurance! ..the pool is cool

I do not even know where to begin to share about what a special gem this property is!! Every need we had was met and it was luxurious enough to make you feel like you were at a private resort but yet comfortable enough to make you feel at home. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Just bring your own coffee and you can sit for hours in the AM at the pool or on the deck watching the sunrise. And let’s talk about the pool area- young and old, alike, enjoyed it all- the pool, slide and hot tub!! The cabana area was the perfect shaded spot for those who mind the sun but want to be part of the action. The property is a tropical, lush paradise. While you were in a small neighborhood, you had all the privacy in the world. I cannot say anything negative because this is a home you do not want to overlook! Perfect for couples, small families and large families. Great location for driving to Hilo (only about 20 min) and being our home base for exploring the central and southern parts of the island. We would most definitely stay here again!!

The property was great. Perfect space for all 11 of us. Within reasonable distances to activities on the Hilo side of the island. Kids and adults loved the pool.

Together with our nuclear families, my twin sister and I met to celebrate our 40th at this wonderful secluded location. The location was everything we could have hoped for and more. It was not in an overly touristy location, and the surroundings rendered plenty of beautiful foliage and accompanying privacy. There were several choice destinations (e.g., waterfalls, volcano national park, etc.) within a short drive of the house, and the views along said drives were magical. The home is older as acknowledged and a few maintenance issues surfaced during our extended stay, but the host was extremely responsive and easy to get ahold of, such that any challenges were quickly remedied without adverse impact. The entire group (with ages ranging from 3 to 67) thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the littles (ages 3 and 7) asked to move there! The slide (and accompanying pool and hot tubs!) in particular was a big hit, and there was plenty of room for the twelve of us to spread out into during time spent at the house. Games were played, views enjoyed, and large meals shared. The readers in the group were appreciative also of the ample reading choices found throughout the home. Those of us who love to be in the kitchen were not left wanting of any appliances or kitchenware, and the guys enjoyed use of the outdoor grill. Throughout our stay (8 nights) such wonderful memories were made, such that we can only hope one day to return. :)

This was a beautiful house that accommodated all fourteen of us ranging ages from 1-75. Everybody enjoyed the pool especially the water slide and there was plenty of rooms and beds for everyone will defiantly come back.

We had a great stay (4 adults, two kids ages 7 and 13) the house was spacious, but the pool was the prize winner with everyone in our group! Anthony was very communicative and hospitable and the house was well stocked with almost everything you could want or need.

We had a very enjoyable family staycation. My teenagers lived in the pool our entire stay. They had a blast on the water slide. The kitchen and bedrooms were clean and spacious. We also loved Tiger the neighborhood cat who would come up to us on the patio for pets and treats. Anthony was a pleasure to work with, always so accommodating and easy to get in touch with. Our family enjoyed a long awaited Christmas reunion at this lovely home in Hilo. We were a group of 13, which included two infants, two three year olds, and two 5 year olds. The family hadn't been altogether for 4 years due to the pandemic, and part of the family lives in Australia, so the location of the gathering was an important choice. We chose the right one! The house is roomy and offers many areas for relaxing, playing games, conversation, and beautiful views. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up meals for any large group. The kids enjoyed many hours in the pool. We had a photographer come to take our family photo in the beautiful yard. Anthony was a considerate host who immediately responded to any question.

We had an amazing experience on the Big Island, in large part due to the wonderful experience of staying in this home. We took a multi generational trip of a lifetime with grandparents, parents, and children whose ages range from 3 to 11. Everyone found a place to spread out and relax in this wonderful property. The waterslide of course was the main attraction, but we enjoyed picking fresh fruits from around the yard for breakfast. We had fresh orange juice every day and ate starfruit and pomelos each morning! There were a few minor issues, but the property manager was very easy to work with and always worked to resolve any issues we had immediately. We really appreciated his constant contact and availability to help with anything at all. He even brought over a large roasting pan so we could cook our Thanksgiving turkey at home! I would definitely say he went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. The property is as described but could use a little upkeep. Nothing that would preclude us from coming back again and highly recommending it to others.

We had a great time in this lovely house. It is located in a little quiet village with easy access to the main highway to Hilo, and is pretty close to Akaka falls. The house has a nice yard with fruit trees and a large pool with a slide. Our children would have just stayed in the pool all day if they could!

Our family ranged from 18-65, and everyone loved this private piece of paradise. The pool, slide and cabana were definitely the highlight, we couldn’t wait to get back and jump in! Anthony was very responsive to all our questions. The lovely house had everything we needed and perfectly clean. We cannot wait to visit again!

It was a resort experience without having to share any of the space with other guests. My children enjoyed the pool and slide to the fullest. If they had not visited anywhere else they would have been happy to stay in the pool all day every day. The home was clean beyond my expectations. There was plenty of towels and toilet paper. We did not have to worry about basic needs they were taken care of. What I thought was going to be a challenge was the disposal of trash but it turned out to be very simple and close to the property. I would recommend this home to any who want a resort experience without having to share the space.

Our two grandkids, ages 6 and 9 played in the pool and had a blast on the slide from sunup to sundown. The slide was better than the rides at Disneyland with no waiting! There was an abundance of everything we needed, towels, toys, kitchen items, etc. We had a fantastic time!

Our family of 5 ranged in ages from 13-84. My husband& I, our two teens, and their grandfather. We spent a week on the Kona side of the Big Island and 5 days at this wonderful rental on the Hilo side of the island. Anthony is an excellent host. All rental communication was clear and efficient. Given my father-in-laws age we inquired about early check in and Anthony graciously accommodated us at no extra cost. Thank you!! Anthony understands that service and hospitality are just as important for vacation rentals as it is for hotel bookings. We met Anthony at the house, he gave a thorough overview of the entire house especially how to use the outdoor space. I’m glad he did and one could tell he has true pride of ownership and wants guests to have a great experience. Our kids, my husband and I all made use of the slide (super fun) and the jacuzzi. We have a 13 year old girl & 16 year old boy. They were having so much fun we had a hard time getting them to go inside. We used the outdoor space well into the night. It’s been a while since they had this much fun together just playing like old times - no electronic devices attached to their hands. The house itself is very clean, safe, comfortable, well appointed and in an excellent location for Akaka falls and not too far from Hilo. In addition to the outside fun, this house has a wide selection of board games. We had a ton of fun. This side of the island is so lush and gorgeous. I’m so glad we made the time to do both sides of the Big Island. We visited the farmers market in Hilo and visited Volcano National Park, Akaka falls, ate at Ed’s Bakery and also visited goat farm among other things. Thank you Anthony for sharing g your slice of heaven with our family.

Anthony was the most amazing host we’ve ever stayed with. The kids loved the pool and my parents enjoyed the special space they had in the master suite.

First, the house keeper does an amazing job! The place was spotless. Cleanest rental we have ever stayed at. Great location. Numerous private sleeping areas for our large group. The fold out mattresses from the sofas are like memory foam. So, don't write them off! Our oldest is 6' 4" and he had more then enough room, there was no bar in his back and he said it was very comfortable. I tried it out. It was very comfortable! It felt like a traditional bed. The other areas of the home, including the pool deck, also have more than enough seating. This was a big plus for our group, because there was eleven of us. The home also has a well stocked kitchen. It has every appliance/gadget you could imagine. It had plenty of cutlery, plates, bowls and serving pieces. This home was a great find. Highly recommend. And the owners are always quick to respond if you have any problems!

We loved our stay here. Listening to the birds and wildlife was so relaxing. We really enjoyed the pool area even when it was raining. The big open kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Anthony was easy to communicate with and was there to answer questions and offer suggestions for our stay. We can’t wait to go back again.

We loved this place. The pool is awesome. The water slide is super fast and fun (use the foam mats to sit on). Hot tube was great. many deck areas with comfy chairs. Mango, papaya, lemon, grapefruit, and orange trees in the back yard. The foliage blocked all views from the neighbors. Could see the ocean from the property. Inside this place has everything you could want. kitchen was great. Well stocked pantry. many different places n which to relax. Two dining tables that would easily hold a dozen together. Many bedrooms downstairs. comfy beds. beach towels, cooler, some water toys all provided. a few minutes from Akaka falls and the botanical gardens. Neighborhood is very quiet.

Little weeds have grown in around the pool, and the pad on the bench in the photo of a little sitting area was now quite moldy. Despite those little things, it was a great house! There was lots of space, both indoors and out. Large yard, plenty on lanai space both upstairs, downstairs, and around the pool. The water slide was a ton of fun and we enjoyed the pool area so much. I will say, the listing needs to be updated to describe the bedrooms better. It said there were 3 bedrooms with 8 beds total, which sounded perfect for our 3 families. It turned out the beds were spread throughout 5 bedrooms. One was in the garage, and another room was unattached from the house, out by the pool. That wasn't as ideal for us with younger kids. The garage room had a musty smell, but airing out the room and using the room spray helped. We probably would have been more comfortable had we rented the master, because one full bath was not really enough for us, but that was our own choice in order to save money. The kitchen was large and had a huge, gorgeous island. Overall, we were very happy with our stay, and I would recommend it! The house felt secluded from neighbors with lots of trees, and the pool was like having our own resort. So fun!

We have stayed in a lot of places, this place is a jewel. The kitchen is incredibly stocked, the homeowners are generous with items already in the pantry, and they left a lovely welcome basket. The house is very comfortable, elegantly decorated and with a yard of your dreams. We loved our stay. The location is on the quieter side of the island and you do have to drive for most sights but on the big island, you are doing that anyway.

The house and location were gorgeous! We spent most of the time in the pool area when we weren't enjoying the many local attractions. The slide was definitely added fun and enjoyed by everyone. The yard and fruit trees were an added bonus. I would absolutely recommend this house to everyone! You won't be disappointed!
