The property has the best view on the lake. The boat house is amazing and convenient. The game room is better than most resorts. The deck is serenity as you watch the boats cruise by while seeing Mt Washington peak in the distance. Visitors will be amazed as they navigate the historic mansion. Well maintained and meticulously cared for by the host. Lake life at its best!

What an absolutely amazing location and a gorgeous historic mansion. Our family was so comfortable here. 4 adults, 4 kids, plenty of privacy and separate spaces to be. Gorgeous boat house for our boating needs and a fire pit for s'mores with the kiddos. Fully equipped kitchen right down to a classic coffee grinder for fresh brew. We are a musical family and so enjoyed the 3rd floor jam room and clavinova! HIGHLY recommended. Our gracious host was very informative, communicative and caring in the best way possible. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Wonderful historic property! The views are not to be believed. Robert could not be a more gracious host. The house is equipped with more than you could ever need. Robert was available to help with any issues that came up, although not many did. Our time went very smoothly. The top floor room is a fantastic spot for gathering and playing. The kitchen is amazing. We had a family reunion with up to 20 people coming and going and we all had the best time. And that was in the dead of winter! I can't even imagine how much fun this property would be in the summer! In short, Robert and the Lincoln Cottage deserve all the 5 star reviews you see here. Personally, I would give them more if I could!

In short this was an exceptional property with the consummate host! My family (5 of us) had a tremendous time at The Lincoln Cottage. I was blown away by how well outfitted the kitchen, and the whole property, were. I packed a bag of kitchen tools and devices and frankly needed none. The rooms were all clean and charming and the main floor was cozy and comfortable We were there over Christmas and Rob even had a tree up for us. From an amenities and comfort standpoint the property was all that it promised and more. The harder to describe was the "Vibe". This is clearly a house that has known a loving family and that permeates the entire place. There is just a sense of warmth and comfort that is hard to put your finger on. The large fireplace with the couches all around inspired reading, napping and in the evenings, laughing and family games. The wrap around porch afforded great views of the lake and the Boat House offered the perfect location for our "Polar Plunge"! As a host Rob was fantastic. He greeted us warmly with a tour when we arrived and txtd a couple times to check on us. He was available but by no means over present. I wish all hosts could strike his balance. Over all this was an outstanding experience by every measure. I give Rob the high marks possible and will look forward to returning again this summer!!

Robert was wonderful to deal with from the beginning. When we arrived, he showed up to provide a tour and insights into the workings of the home and its fully stocked kitchen. Although we were not blessed with the best of weather during our stay, the home provided an ideal spot to hang out together around the fire or overlooking the lake. It was well maintained and clean and the top floor was a perfect spot for the kids to play, hang out, or just chill. A wonderful spot to spend a winter or summer week. Really enjoyed our stay for a long weekend with a group of friends. The house is comfortable with an amazing kitchen. Views are incredible from the main deck and the 3rd floor. Definitely would rent again!

Great location and water access!

The view and sunrise from Lincoln Cottage over the lake are unimaginable. There is easy access to swim, an extremely stocked kitchen and plenty of linens for large groups. The owner is fantastic to deal with and makes sure your stay is perfect!

This home was perfect for a family gathering! We gathered as a family to honor my Dad who brought us all to the lakes region way back when. The house was perfect for meals, games and water activities together and close to camp grounds for extra sleeping. Robert was an excellent host and the the house had everything your could think of! We brought a boat as well and the boat house worked out perfectly. Highly recommend!

Last minute my original booking for the Fourth of July week was sold voiding our stay! I was panicked trying to find a place for a large group of 20! Robert was generous enough to let I stay at his property and we had a amazing week!! The location was great close to everything! Beautiful views!! We LOVED the boat house and fire pit!! Kids had a blast!

We just returned home from a long weekend at this home and all I can say is this is my favorite VRBO that I have stayed at (we stay at 3-4 properties a year). Robert, the owner, met us at the house at check in and gave us a full tour of the home so we knew where to find cookware, dishes, towels, the laundry etc. It was really helpful especially given how big the house is. During our stay I reached out to Robert a couple of times and he was very prompt to answer any questions we had. The home itself is like a trip back in time, the woodwork, the decor, the little touches all over the home were fantastic. The boat house has room for three boats, we used all three, the biggest being 30' and it was plenty of room. Finally, the views the sunrises, the sun sets, being able to see Mount Washington off in the distance while rocking on the porch with a drink looking out on the lake. Really priceless. I hope we have the opportunity to rent from Robert again.

Great Property, well maintained and easy process

We stayed here with three other families for our annual ski trip. The home provided plenty of space and access to activities that kept everyone happy. The house is beautiful and the view of the lake and the mountains is spectacular. Robert was very helpful and available to answer questions and attend to any of our needs. I highly recommend this stay!!!

This was a huge splurge for our family get-together but entirely worth it! Robert met me at the property and gave me a thorough tour of the "cottage", including a bit of the history of this unique mansion. It is an awesome place to gather with friends and family and the views of the lake and mountains from the lower and upper balconies are just breathtaking. We appreciated the HUGE kitchen with 5 ovens and so many pots, pans and utensils you could cook for an army....or just a dozen family members with big appetites who really enjoy good food! After dark the indoor fireplace was an intimate spot to catch up on all the happenings....and the more hearty folk headed down to the lake for a bonfire and stargazing! Robert provided firewood for both! The upstairs game/music room was a hit for all of my wannabe pool sharks and rockstars. Thank you, Robert. Our family has made wonderful memories at Lincoln Cottage. I can't imagine a property that has more to offer on Lake Winnipesaukee than this one!

Robert was a perfect host and made sure every detail was taken care of before we arrived. The historic house and views are jaw-dropping. We enjoyed Robert so much, we nearly called him to see if he would join us to spend a few hours at the fire pit. Very memorable experience!

We rented the Lincoln cottage for a quick getaway. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Before even stepping foot in the Lincoln Cottage, we were met with breathtaking views of Lake Winnipesaukee. These views can be taken in from the wrap around porch where we couldn't help but spend the majority of our stay. The house is situated on a hill that allows you to oversee the lake for miles. The blend of antique features with modern updates makes the Lincoln Cottage a truly unique and amazing place to relax and unwind. The attention to detail is unmatched in every inch of the interior, a craftsmans dream. The kitchen was well appointed, and we could have used a different oven to cook every meal. If you're looking to cook for a crowd, look no further. The third floor features a pool table, drum set, another kitchen, great shower, as well as another breathtaking viewpoint of lake Winnipesaukee. There is no shortage of beds here at the Lincoln cottage, all which exceeded my comfort level and expectations. Staying at the Lincoln Cottage was the best vacation we've had in years, and we cannot wait to return for our next getaway.

Unbelievable location and view. Starting at the water, a private beach and boat house could not be more spectacular. A great spot to spend your day! On The large deck overlooking the water, don’t miss the hammock and sunsets enjoying some grilled up goodies. Inside and out the home is beautiful, with masterful wood work and attention in every detail. Do not miss a chance to experience this spot for yourself!

The kitchen is amazing, a stunning view on a porch that can fit 3 families, but wished we knew we had to cross a street (with a lot of stairs) to get to the lake since we had little kids. Overall the house was great and centrally located between two large towns with amazing restaurants. Fire pit was a fantastic evening gathering for our families, but there is also an 8pm noise ordinance that is strictly enforced.

The front porch overlooking the water was our favorite spot. We ate outside. We loved the lake. We hiked and biked. We played cards and pool. We enjoyed every moment. This property is incredible. The kitchen was great to work in. Everything you need is right there. We also used the boat house for a boat rental for the week. Thank you! I hope we can come back.

This property is absolutely beautiful, and it is located in a convenient, peaceful location. The house was spotless, and it's even nicer than it appears in the photos. The boathouse was immaculate and very easy to dock boats in. I could not have picked a better place to rent for our group. Robert (the host) is a considerate, easygoing guy who puts his guests stay and enjoyment at utmost importance. Thank you for a great time. We will be back.

We had a wonderful week at the Lincoln Cottage. The view of the lake and the snow covered peak of Mt. Washington from the living room as stunning. We were a group of 7 adults and had a great time cooking in the beautiful kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. The house was well heated and the fireplace kept us extra toasty. Took a few beautiful hikes in the snowy woods. The house exceeded our expections ans Robert was a perfect host.

Perfect place for my family to spend Thanksgiving. The kitchen is perfect for anyone who wants to host a big group. It was cold but beautiful considering we were there in late November.

If you get the chance to stay here do it. My family spent 5 wonderful fall nights here with the most perfect view of Lake Winnipesaukee. The house was large enough for each person to have their own space and the gourmet kitchen made cooking a pleasure. The living area was cozy and comfortable enough for this Atlanta family to watch our Braves win the World Series! The outdoor space is plentiful and gorgeous, we even used the boat house to take our boat for one last fall trip on the lake. The owner is responsive to any question.

This house has stunning view of Lake Winnipesaukee. The sunrise at the house is amazing. The owner was great in communication. The house is great for a family reunion and gathering of friends. My only complaint is about the bathroom in the second floor. Shower curtain over the bathtub didn't work well. It needs extra caution to not let water dropping out.

This place was great. Robert was very easy to access and he was there when we checked in to show us around. We got a tour with all the cooking equipment and amenities as well as the history of the house.. The location is amazing and we got to take advantage of the large boat house stalls. There was plenty of parking, and the place is not far from some really good restaurants.
