The grill was beyond cleaning so we didn't get a chance to grill out. My initial booking experience with Alexandria was great. When I checked in I assumed everything I asked for was included. Towels were not at the house when we got to the property; had to call the office and ask "where are the towels"? I specifically requested bath towels along with the pet reservation-which were listed side-by-side in the Contract. The pets were picked up in my total but it was explained to me that towels were not. Whomever "entered" my Contract and add-on options did not pick up on towels. Needless to say, I was charged extra for towels AND a second set "mysteriously" appeared. Overall the experience was good... the house was great, the pool was great.

Wish there would have been more prep bowls and other kitchen items. Not a big problem I will be prepared if I rent it again. So impressed with Carolina Shores staff they were wonderful to work with booking and helped me with my dog who was upset after the car ride once we arrived.

We had a great time at this property. I was concerned due to the amount of folks reporting the home was dirty. It was not dirty but be aware you are renting a pet friendly home. The carpets were not great and not something you would want to walk barefoot on but worth it to bring my dog child. Everything else was fantastic, clearn, great location. We had a blast.

Check-in was a little disappointing. Showed up about 3:15 pm and was told we could not get the key and had to go back to realty office at 4 pm. At 4 pm there was longer wait, which was ok. However, got to the house and house cleaners knocked on the door about 45 minutes later. They were very kind and nice so we had them come in to do quick cleaning. Question why we could not have gotten the key at 3:30 when we arrived, and told to hang by the pool until cleaners arrived. Also, the ceramic beach dishes are LOVELY, but not microwave friendly. I burnt my finger taking coffee cup out of the microwave - it’s healing now. We had 2.5 days of rain - but allowed time to shop (me and my daughter) and golf (husband and my 2 sons). Overall, we had fun, relaxing week. I would like to return again as the house was lovely and well equipped.

We arrived at the house to find dirty dishes, counters that weren’t wiped down, no hot tub, and barely usable WiFi. We spent a day trying to get a internet/WiFi connection fixed - calling the property mgmt multiple times to get a solution. The appliances, TV, decor, etc is at least 15 years old. The place is mostly all carpet which clearly hasn’t been cleaned in years. It felt gross staying there - to the point I wore flip flops while inside and had to wipe down the entire house before settling in.

The house is great! Large bedrooms and great common area space. However, the house was not clean- bathrooms were gross, dirty dishes left behind. No hot tub. Pets allowed but wouldn’t say “pet friendly” because the property is not well kept and not suitable for any dog to walk on.

While traveling during a pandemic we spent more time at the house in the evenings than we normally would. For the price I paid the lack of quality TVs and cable channels was a major disappointment. But we still had a great time swimming in the pool and shooting pool. You should probably take the hot tube references off the listing too.

It was one feature we were looking for in a rental due to health concerns. The Carolina Shores management was very helpful during our stay. I had read other reviews about cleanliness, but the house was very clean. Having a bathroom for every bedroom was very helpful during our stay. The beach is further than it seems because the house is between 2 public access points. It’s about a 10 minute walk. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property.

We all spent a lot of time in the nicely-sized pool, (it will be really hard to rent a home without a pool in the future)playing basketball and many games of billiards. One thing that was apparently removed prior to this season was the hot tub...not sure how much we would have used it but we really didn't miss not having it.

The main living area/great room was so bright and cheery! This is something we value in a beach home, we so enjoyed the sun filled spaces while getting our days started. Perhaps one of THE best features were the bathrooms that went with each bedroom. The amount of time saved by having 4 full baths could not be measured. All in all, just a great place to spend a week.

As others have noted, the house sits in sort of an unfortunate location for beach access. While being close in distance, the house sits almost directly in between 2 public beach access points. What this meant in reality was a 7 minute (we timed it a couple of times)walk from the driveway to the dune. Not bad, but if there was direct beach access it would have been 1-2 minutes.

Cleanliness: 2 issues, 1 of which was disgusting. Someone who stayed prior to us decided to put their dirty (as in used and not cleaned at all) dishes in the cupboards without washing them! They put them in the middle of the pile so they wouldn't be noticed unless you removed the top 4-6 plates. There was thick food residue on about 8 plates. Not a fun thing to discover. There was also a pile of salt water taffy wrappers left in one of the master bedroom drawers.

We would absolutely stay here again. I had always wanted to have a private pool and I'm glad we finally got a house with it. The only thing that would cause me to hesitate staying here again is the walk to the beach, but that's not a deal breaker per se. If you want a nice, bright beach cottage with a pool you won't regret staying here!

While technically true its across from main road and walk with small kids more like 6-7 min to beach access. Still location by food lion and lots of restaurants a definite plus. House was clean. My only recommendation is that in the description of the house, it is made clear that the beach is a bit more of a walk than implied. The kitchen is FULLY stocked which was fantastic. We had a minor problem with the coffee maker and the property management ran a new one out to the house ( great service). The beds are very comfortable, the living room very spacious and the pool was a nice way to end a beach day. I thought the quality of the house appeared nicer than the pictures indicted. The only negative thing I can say is to get to the beach access is a hike, I didn't realize that when I booked. Because of the gear and older family members we drove to the access point. Our favorite part was being able to spend our vacation with our fur kid.......he loved it too!

Some maintenance is needed on the decks (exposed nails, warped boards). We visited at the end of the summer so I'm sure maintenance is done during the off season. There seemed to be an abundance of spiders outside and a few made their way inside. Maybe that's normal for the area during late summer? The home was well equipped and the pool and hot tub were great. Overall it was a wonderful home and another great family vacation to the Outer Banks. The staff at Carolina Shores Vacation Rentals was amazing as always.
