Great accommodation. Wonderful location in Harlem, and conveniently close to the subway, which is just around the corner - from there, central park is a few minutes away. Nice atmospheric interior, and big room. Facilities were great - there's a useful small kitchen, and a great bathroom. Room was cleaned/bedsheets were replaced frequently, which was nice. Instructions regarding the keys, entering/leaving, and checking out were clear and easy. Very comfortable stay!
Although the building is generally very clean and neat, it is somewhat worn here and there (since it's an old building). I understand that a full renovation is impossibly costly and ambitious, but a few upgrades might be nice. Nevertheless, these were only details.
The bed was intensely soft - it was comfortable, but, as someone used to a hard mattress, I had some back pains towards the end of the stay. Good to keep in mind, I guess, for those who can't handle a soft mattress.

The hotel was situated in a typical Westside Manhattan building and the room was unique with an amazing kind of antique decor. The room was super clean and the bathroom was equipped with a bathtub and above all very spacious. The hotel is ideally located only 5mn walking distance from the metro station and it only takes 2 stops and 15 mn on the A-line to Times Square, and less than 20 mn to Penn Station. The area, a few blocks from Columbia university, is very safe and the streets are calm during the night. I would definitely recommend staying in Harlem Grand if you're visiting the city.

Perfecte lokatie. Zeer verzorgde, mooie kamer. Zeer stil ´s nachts. Leuke, veilige omgeving. Subway op 4 min. stappen. 7 heerlijke dagen. Dank aan de gastvrouw.
Jammer dat onze kamer geen keuken had. Maar geen nood. Er is een frigo en microgolf op de kamer. Alles is zeer dichtbij om een ontbijtje te nemen.

La ubicación está excelente, tiene dos estaciones de metro cerca y conectas con distintas lineas para moverte por toda la ciudad. La comunicación con Kelly fue excelente y siempre estuvo dispuesta a ayudar.

The Harlem Grand is a unique place, created with the finest taste, not a single detail is out of the context. We felt warmly welcomed and spent five marvellous days, place is close the A-Train on 125st, breakfast nearby. If in NYC, Harlem Grand will be the place to stay for us.

Excellent location for Columbia, 125 St metro area. Quiet street, clean and comfortable room.

It was in a great location and the staff was very friendly. Even with minor hiccups everything was clean and orderly, and the service was fantastic for the price.
Other than a few creaky floor boards, there was nothing to dislike.

The brownstone in Harlem is a convenient walk to neighborhood spots and close to Morningside Park. It also has easy access to express and local trains from St. Nicolas station. This location is comfortable and quiet with easy access to Harlem, Manhattanville, and nearby Columbia University (if you enjoy a short walk with stairs). The owner is helpful in giving an overview of the house, neighborhood, transportation, and providing clear instructions. She generally responds within 24 hours.
There is no one on site most of the time. You have to plan carefully for arrival and departure. This is more like an AirBnB than typical Booking sites.

It was difficult to reach the owner because her mailbox was full the two times we called her.

Wonderful and very special stay in the beautiful historical brownstone. Great location because it's so close to the subway to go downtown. Getting around was a breeze. It was so peaceful and quiet, we could hear the birds in the morning. This is an old house with old furniture that is lovingly taken care of and this explains the rules you have to follow when staying here. It's very special and unique and memorable.

The room was perfectly comfortable in a convenient area. Staff was helpful as well, if I ever come back to NYC this place is definitely #1

I like that the host was very thorough with giving us directions for grocery stores, convenient storea and restaurants. I absolutely love the location. we were in the middle of everything in Harlem.
The stairs felt very unsafe and I'm pretty sire it's not up to code. I didn't like walking up and down 3 long. flights of stairs and no I was not told which room or floor I will be on. I didn't like the kitchenette area because its small and shared. The paint on the walls in my room were peeling, the tub is so comically small I couldn't properly wash up because the host insisted that we do not remove 2 shower curtains from the inside of the tub so that the water won't drain to the tenants below us. I don't like the restrictions on room accessories such as towels and emptying the garbage.

The owner and staff are excellent! The accommodations were AWESOME! I could not have asked for better. The attention to detail and expectations were reasonable and explained thoroughly! I could not have asked for more! Top RATED!

The place is on a nice quiet street with free street parking. The building was easily located by the green lights on either side of the door. The hostess was also very informative and explained the street system of Manhattan which was very helpful in learning how to get around.
The bathroom is very small, but still sufficient for your needs.

doesn’t match the description, AC didn’t work, it was smelling bad and dirty. the sheets were dirty and there were bed bugs. the owner doesn’t respond and took my money even though I didn’t stay there even for one night.

Nice old house. Different than expected. Very quiet, which is very much wanted in such a noisy city. The host is very friendly and helpful. Very watchful and protective over the property. We left the window open one day and received a message directly to close. Very good.
The house is very old and smells a bit old, but it was clean. The design of the hotel room could be better. It is very full. I am a big person and the bed is pretty narrow for 2 persons.

We had a great stay at Harlem Grand. Kellyn was so helpful and so welcoming. Her BNB is clean, safe, and homey. The best part about staying here vs a hotel was how helpful Kellyn was with tips to get around, staying safe, and the ins and outs of city life from a true local! We were two young Female travelers and Kellyn made us feel safe and prepared to take on the city.
The location is kinda far. We took the subway everywhere and its a good 20-30 min ride to what we wanted to see and do. The subway rides are simple though. There are no crazy transfers, you can ride the A or D train straight to where you would like to go. The only reason we would not stay here again is to be closer to the main attractions, but if you are someone looking to escape the city at night this is the place for you! Also there is no breakfast being served right now due to COVID-19 regulations. I wish this was something we would have know this before booking.
