It replicated a Berber lifestyle . Had several artefacts the place was generally clean the family was quiet welcoming. If you want to experience a Berber way of living this place is ideal.
It would have been great to have fan as it was hot and the food could have been covered to keep flies away .

Leuk verblijf midden in de oude stad. De eigenaar is heel vriendelijk. We hebben er heel lekker gegeten! Er is een prachtig zicht van op het terras. De kamers zijn heel leuk ingericht.
Niets op aan te merken!

Is beautiful and the views are stunning
The breakfast is good. Bread could be served warm.

Locatie was super! Prachtig ingericht en heerlijk om te verblijven als alle toeristen weg gaan. Spectaculair zonsondergang en zonsopgang. Gastvrij personeel en heerlijk gegeten echt aanrader!

unique location and environment
misleading facilities, there was no electric blankets as listed and it was difficult to find the accommodation as we came at night and there was no sign. no electric plugs in rooms was also very inconvenient to charge personal devices

It was beautifully designe , the details of the architecture and the decor were spectacular. I loved the Moroccan colourful and warm interior design . The food was very delicious and the staff were very reliable and efficient and very kind as well .
Noting.

Location was amazing, best sunrise ever. Traditional breakfast and dinner served fantastic taste, the room had an authentic, berber decoration. Great, hospitable staff. I would definitely go back again!
I liked everything.

Staying at the "kasbah at the ksar" sounds very exotic and exciting, and it is! Halfway through the winding road up to the ksar, your excitement built up as you approach it. Depending on where you park, you can either go through the river, or by the bridge (we ended up using the bridge, but explored the river the day after). Richly decorated with amazigh signs and decor, including the amazing cavernous sitting room (with a hookah), you can get lost in the hotel. The rooftop provides a 270-degree view overlooking the hill and everything underneath. The host, the kitchen crews, are all friendly and helpful. The room itself is amazingly plush with authentic Berber decor with a great view toward the rooftop. There are comfy reading nooks and large dining room where the excellent breakfast is provided (accompanied by a kitten who ensconced herself there). It's an amazing unique experience!
A couple things that should've been mentioned clearly in the listing:
1) There's no "official" Wifi in the hotel. You have to tag on to the personal Inwi network provided by the host but it's intermittent and slow. The host mentioned that this is because the hotel depends on solar power now(?) The closest decent Wifi is available across the river at the closest restaurant to the bridge (Cafe Tamlalte).
2) If you return after sundown, there are NO lights in the streets in the ksar (starting from the bridge), use your flashlight, and unless you know where to go already, you can really get lost in the dark (see photos).
Also for awareness:
1) The ksar is very windy so dress accordingly. It was chilly in the afternoon in May when we reached the top.
2) Even in the hotel, to reach our room, you'd have to go through many maze-like steps (but at this point, if you have already brought your luggages from across the river here....)
3) There's almost no hot water if you take a bath at night.
4) We found the area is more touristy than other areas/kasbahs along the road from Klaat M'gouna to Marrakesh and the merchants also acted accordingly.

The location is amazing. It is a magic place well located in the middle of the village. They came to the parking lot with a donkey to help us carry the luggage. The staff was very friendly and they explained nice things about the Kasbah and the village

Enjoyed staying in the Kasbah, an unique experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
Room was a little warm/stuffy, could use better ventilation or fan.

beautiful place, great atmosphere, good food
unfortunately there was no hot water in any of our bathrooms

Great and unique location inside the Kasbah; unlike any other hotel in the area. The roof terrace is also great and offers a beautiful view over the Kasbah and the valley below. Great experience, would recommend anyone
The hotel is quite rustic; there are only power outlets in the main hall and not in the rooms, the shower in our room did not turn warm, and we could only pay in cash, whereas the closest ATM was a 40 minute car drive away. The experience is fully worth it though, but one should come prepared for these more basic facilities

This is one of the most unique places I have stayed, the architecture, views and location were incredible.
I can’t think of anything that I disliked.

One of the most unique places you will ever stay - and very nice inside. Couldn't recommend more.
The location inside the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou was incredible enough, but step inside the riad and it gets better. There are many well decorated and planted areas to relax, great balconies with views over the river, and large, clean rooms.
You park across the river and either walk 5-10mins to the accomodation, or pay the carpark attendant for a donkey to carry the bags.
The staff put on a tasty authentic dinner (for extra cost) - we had chicken tagine etc. And a BIG authentic and fresh breakfast is included. We had Berber omelette and pancakes with tea etc..
And the service is excellent with friendly staff who refuse to talk about payment until you leave and act as if it's an afterthought.
Could not recommend highly enough - especially for the price!
Things to note:
- Payment in cash only. Euro/Dirham.
- 5-10min walk from carpark across gravel and uneven ground. Suggest small bags only or pay for donkey to carry.
doesn't
- No power outlets in room as they are on solar. Have to charge up in the lounges.
- Wifi is very limited in range and their input strength is a weak 4G. We could barely use it.
- Shower doesnt get too hot, but it is warm in the desert anyway!

The location is unique, the property is quirky and full of character with lots of different areas. The roof terrace is a big plus and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and dinner was good. Overall a unique and charming place to spend a night
It is made clear in advance that the only place to charge devices is in the restaurant area and the wifi was nonexistent - Not a big problem for us.
We were also not aware we could have had our breakfast on the terrace, a nicer setting than in the restaurant which was kind of gloomy.

Spellbinding historic building full of twists and turns, little stairways & roof terraces, beautifully decorated with Moroccan art and objects, and a Berber style cave to relax and drink tea in.
The hotel is in the heart of the ancient Kasber (Kaour) of Ait Ben Haddou with breathtaking views of the palmerie, river and desert beyond. When we stayed in April ‘23 the set for Gladiator 2 was being built close by (due to be filmed in June) very exciting for the children. Atmospheric restaurant and friendly hosts.
The beds were very hard and there was no light switch near the bed (either for a lamp or the main light). Torch could be provided for night time loo trips. Bathrooms don’t have doors (at least for our bedrooms).
We knew there would be no electric sockets in the rooms so we charged our phones in the dining room which was fine. No a/c as this is located in a historic site, fine for April but could be toasty in summer.

Located in the heart of the historical area of Ait Ben Haddou, about five minutes walk after crossing the foot bridge bridge, with a roof top terrace and grand view of the surrounding area. Great Breakfast, beautiful decor, and staff very helpful.
Bed was harder than we like and bathroom plumbing was a bit tricky. The booking.com advice said they accepted credit card but they only accept cash and the manager Azzis promised to have this changed.

Fantastic boutique hotel in great location - one of the few hotels in the old down of Aït Benhaddou and 5 mins walk from parking. Tasteful traditional look and facilities (comfy rooms, terrasses overlooking the valley), friendly staff and very good breakfast & dinner.

comfortable.
Service was a bit slow.

Beautiful place with so much atmosphere and authentic Moroccan feel. The decor is cozy and beautiful! Staff were very friendly and helpful!!! The room had a little indoor balcony with a view of the mountain and the terrace. The whole place is very special and unique. The cave Is so much fun!
You can only charge your phones on the main floor. If I had known I may not have booked there and would have missed an incredible stay, so might be a little inconvenience but no big deal In Exchange for the authentic experience!

Was the best place to stay so far for us. It was located literally inside Ait Ben Haddou, so exploring was really easy and convenient. The sunrise and sunset at the top were magical.
In addition to the location, the staff was incredibly friendly. And the food was better than most restaurants we've eaten at so far.
Great experience.

Room and hotel itself was very nice and ethnic design. Terrasse was breathtaking.
No electric socket in room, you have to run in lobby to charge mobile. There no door in toilet.

Comfortable room with gas heaters. Staff friendly and accommodating. Bonus, ask for a pack mule to carry your luggage from the parking lot across the bridge to the Riad.

Amazing location, right in the center if the Ait Ben Haddou berberian village. The atmosphere of this place is an experience itself.
We spent one night there in the winter season (February) and despite a small gas heater that we got - it was freazing cold in the room and pretty cold in the common areas.

A totally fabulous Moroccan Kasbah accommodation, right in the heart of Ben Ait Haddu Kasr. Spectacular bedroom with ensuite bathroom, huge bed with numerous pillows. The roof terrace has views overlooking the Kasr and great for the substantial and wonderful Moroccan breakfast that has everything and more, or great for afternoon mint tea, while watching the sun go down. A family run hotel with a gorgeous and friendly mother, cooking local Moroccan food, it’s impossible to ask for any more, but then your also greeted and managed by the exceptionally friendly, kind and professional son Rachid too and the staff, in particular سيمون (hope I spelt correctly) are fabulous, friendly and so funny too. I loved it here and stayed over Christmas.
impossible to fault.

so we were the only people here at the time because of low season, but 100% reccomond coming here in january. the terraces are nice and warm in the morning sun, owners went out of there way to help us with everything and also were super cool to chat with and have a laugh.
nothing it was perfect

We loved the guest house, very unique, well decorated, comfortable and quiet. Also it is perfectly situated in the Kasbah so you can enjoy the atmosphere of Ait Ben Haddou in the early morning or late afternoon avoiding the busy time when all tourists are visiting the Kasbah.
As always in Morocco the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was great, we didn't had dinner but if you decide to have, let them know one day in advance.
All was good. Payments only cash.

What a special experience to stay over night in the old town of Ait Benhaddou at an authentic but beautifully presented Kasbah. It was magical. Being in the old town, we could beat the masses of tourists up the hill for a 360 degree view in the morning including the sunrise. The Kasbah is full of wonderful places to relax, including a cave room and a terrace with a lovely view... all beautifully decorated. You feel like you have walked into Ali Baba's time. The room was really comfortable and charming, and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. It was a definite highlight in our trip.

The location was spectacular. The staff was extremely friendly and very easy to communicate with. The place itself was so interesting and decorated so well, I loved sitting and having tea in every area. It’s an extremely special place to stay. Highly recommend.

Fantastic kasbah located in the ksar of Äit Benhaddou. Staff is nice, interior is beautiful, and the dinner was very good chicken + vegetable tajine. You can watch the sunset from the terrass or walk up the hill in <5 minutes for a beautiful view.
