Perfect location

An absolutely stunning and unique period property in the heart of Lindos - you won't find anything like this anywhere else. Wonderful open courtyard, lots of quirky features that have been retained from the original construction in the 17th century. The host was fantastic and answered all of our questions and was always on hand if we needed anything during the stay. Good air conditioning. Perfect location.

A few points to bear in mind - as a period property, there are some quirks. For instance the kitchen and bathrooms are very small, the beds are a little short (I am 5ft 10 and my feet poked out of the end!). While it is advertised as three bedrooms, one of the 'bedrooms' is in fact the main salon / living space in the property. The wifi is a little patchy - it is fine in the courtyard and the bedrooms but not in the main hall area. But this didn't detract from the wonderful experience of staying in an original Lindos period property. Finally, the listing suggests there is parking, but this is public parking in the village of Lindos, and it was hard to get a space sometimes, and you'll need to walk your luggage to the property, which was only 5 minutes away so not a problem for us, but might be a challenge for people with mobility issues.

Location fantastic…close to centre but quiet. A perfect retreat and sanctuary away from the bustle of Lindos town. We were thrilled each time we opened the door into our courtyard and spending time in such an historic building was a real joy. The upper room I stayed in was lovely, although a tight squeeze to get passed to the toilet and terrace…but overall we had a fantastic holiday in this property. As the sun moved throughout the day we were able to find shelter on one or other of the terraces. The central courtyard became our largest room, where we ate breakfast. Would love to return and spend more time here.

Kitchen basic but usable for small meals. Mostly we ate outside so this wasn’t a problem. As 3 women travelling together, some bedrooms had keys to lock at night whilst others didn’t…although we were perfectly safe, with the main outer door being locked we felt slightly vulnerable. However we found Lindos to be completely safe and so welcoming….the people of Lindos were amazing!

We stayed previously in 2017 and unfortunately ours and others' comments on the poor wifi have not been addressed. Super disappointed about this as it shows that guest feedback is not taken seriously. Considering the cost to stay here, it's frustrating

The Captain's House was an amazing period property that really transported you to the past. There was a feeling of serentity as soon as you walked into the courtyard yet the house is located in the centre of Lindos. There were plenty of shops, restaurants, attractions and beaches very close by. I couldn't have wished for a better location or property.

The kitchen could have been a little bigger but there were so many good restaurants close by that I was happy to eat out every night and this is only a very minor quibble.
