This was the first time I went to Croatia, but it won't be the last. The country is beautiful! The Villa where we stayed was very spacious and wonderful. We will definitely be back.

The property oozes character yet is very modern in its comfort. Situated a short drive from the Makarska centre, it gives the impression of being on top of the world. The view from the house is stunning, especialy at sunset and sunrise. The owner and his mum (thanks for the pancakes!) are very good hosts and their attention to detail is amazing.

My wife and 2 of our friends had the good fortune to choose Villa Nirvana for our Croatian (Markarska), vacation during the last 2 weeks in May of this year. We have stayed at several private villas in different countries over the years as we prefer that type of holiday to the 'All Inclusive' type of holiday experience. As soon as we arrived at the villa, we were all, without exception, bowled over by the location, sea views from almost every vantage point both inside and out, and probably most of all, the sheer quality of the place. From the outdoor pool area to the basement which had all the features you would expect in any 5/6 star hotel to the 2 en suite bedrooms on the first floor both with balconies facing the glorious Adriatic Sea. We declined to have a hire car for the duration of our 2 week stay but instead, when the notion took us, walked down the hill to the main town harbour area and took a taxi back up. The journey took a leisurely 15 minutes and the taxi fare very reasonable. As I mentioned in my intro sentence it was simply, without doubt, the best villa holiday we have ever experienced. The host would, on occasion, come to tend to the extensive garden area just adjacent to the villa and gift us with strawberries, vegetables, flowers etc as well as ensuring all was well with us. There was a well stocked wine cellar in the basement which guests are welcome to plunder, (with payment!) but it was one of the many 'extra' touches which made the holiday so perfect. We are already planning our next trip to Croatia and, believe me, Villa Nirvana is as far as we will be looking!!
