Very nice and cozy hotel - close to the harbour & beach. Lovely place to relax and enjoy! We felt warmly welcomed and served.

Location was perfect and the hosts were lovely. We were very comfortable in our room and liked the way housekeeping was more or less left to us to decide if we needed anything. We replenished our own coffee pods and sugar each days and towels were in the hall each morning to exchange if required.

The mattresses have a tendency to slide off their bases. but we just made sure we pushed them back on each day.

Hotel Buren is centrally located in West-Terschelling, two blocks behind the high street. But it is, nevertheless, super quiet. Or at least it was in October 2022, when everything on the island itself was relatively quiet. I can't comment on high season. You are in no time in the high street, on the dunes, at the sea.

I will never understand the dutch shower concept of not providing a door or a curtain to prevent the water from splashing around in the whole bathroom when you take a shower.

The room I had was large and the bed comfortable. I enjoyed the quite hotel and neighborhood. The staff is really nice and willing to help. And, last but not least, the breakfast was delicious.

Although my room was large, a table or a desk would have allowed me to work more comfortably.

Staff was very kind and helpful. Thanks to them we rented bikes to discover the island, some activities and restaurants to go.

The hotel located at west of the island, very close to the shore where the ferries are. The hotel has the nicest staff (I think it runs by a family), super kind and helpful. The breakfast was also tasty. The rooms are quiet small but it has everything you need and it is arranged well. The beds are comfortable. Coffee and tea is also provided.

We went there at the heat wave, it was very warm and the fan was not enough. However, it was the case for anywhere in the NL. And the staff told us that they are arranging AC system for the hotel.

Very personal and friendly service, excellent breakfast and very nice historical building with all modern comforts. A home away from Home.

Perfect location to explore Terschelling. Within easy walking distance to many restaurants and shopping street. Lovely terrasse, which we couldn't use because of the cold and rainy weather during our stay.

The automatic door closes sometimes really slowly.

The location would be great if the windows of the room didn’t face some backyards with garbage

From 10am till 8pm there was loud construction noise coming from above. No chances to have some rest in the afternoon. Apparently, the new owners decided to renovate the old building right during the peak season. 🤯 Moreover, the construction workers had a smoking place just below the windows so that we couldn’t leave the windows open either. Otherwise the room started smelling like cigarettes. To finish it off, the heating system didn’t work and we were not able to dry wet clothes. The hotel manager turned it on (when asked about that) but the next morning it wasn’t working again and didn’t work for the rest of our week’s stay. Breakfast was ranging from ok to edible (depending on how old the croissants were)

The shower wasn’t working welk, didn’t fit the holder. Poor possibility to charge your phone.

Beds are too soft. Rooms have really thin walls and when they decided to redo the floor above us on Saturday it sounded like they were ín our room.
