The Homestead had everything we could have wanted for a relaxing multigenerational vacation. The home was well stocked, the decor was homey and thoughtful, and everything was very clean. Shirley our host was a pleasure and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed watching the deer from the porch rocking chairs in the morning and roasting s'mores in the fire pit at night. We'd love to come back!

This place was perfect for our family vacation! The hosts were friendly and always available. The house was great - big enough for our teens to have their own space, and small enough to feel cozy. Tucked away from busy roads but still close enough to everything we wanted to see, I wish I was still sitting out on the porch in the rocking chairs with my coffee waiting for the world to wake up :) We'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some peace and quiet, a home away from home.

The Homestead ended up being a last minute booking for a short mommy and daughter getaway. We were notified that our original property of choice had a water leak and we could not stay there. After hours of searching the VRBO website, my little girl and I chose The Homestead. We had a wonderful stay!! It was very peaceful, and was just the relaxing getaway I had homed for. The home was very clean, and had everything we needed. Since there was only 2 of us, we only used the master suite. The king size bed was VERY comfortable. I slept so good. Owners are very nice and attentive. The loft was larger than it looks in the pictures. I'm almost 6 feet tall and I could stand up in the middle of it. I thought I would have to crawl around up there haha. There is no sedicated lighting up there though (or none we found). Only light comes from a small window at the back of loft area, and whatever light spills over from the living room and kitchen. My daughter was excited about the loft area at first, but she is bit nervous of dark spaces so we didn't spend any time up there After all. I think the loft may be a "work in progress" though, so maybe it will have a desicated light at some point. Overall we enjoyed it here, and would love to stay again some time.

The cabin was extremely clean and cute as can be. Our group was 2 couples and a friend. We did not have much time to actually enjoy the cabin because we had so many other plans scheduled, but really enjoyed feeding the deer.

We loved the property and it was just what we needed: a place to decompress, surrounded by nature. Hosts Shirley and Keith were great and welcoming!

This house is perfect. My husband, dog and I were there for a long weekend. The house is well equipped with everything you need; the owner also put fresh ice in the freezer and had the a/c on before we arrived. Our dog loved watching the wildlife go past from the porch (where there’s rocking chairs for a nice morning coffee or evening drink). It’s super clean. Massive master bed with en suite too. We’d definitely recommend this house. Owners are beyond helpful and gave us loads of local recommendations. We can’t wait to stay again.

My family was so pleased to be able to meet at this place and enjoy a quiet, relaxing weekend in the country. The host, Shirley, was very helpful and accommodating. We will stay there again!

Our destination was Hunt Tx. to drop our daughter off at camp but everything was booked so we looked an hour out and came upon this beautiful place. We stayed in a type of cottage called the Homestead, it was super duper clean and cozy, reminded me of staying at a Granny’s loving house. Shirley, the owner was an angel on this piece of Heaven. The pond or creek bed was stocked With bass and my boys caught several (catch and release) bass. Deer are everywhere. We enjoyed our stay so much, I did not want to leave. *Side note: you’ll need to bring spices and shampoo & conditioner.

This was a beautiful property . The house was spotless. The owners left deer feed out and my babies fed the deer everyday .Our family enjoyed our stay.
