The gardens are lovely, very relaxing even on cold wet day. The bed was very soft.

Holberry House is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by lovely gardens. It has an interesting Sculpture Walk throughout the gardens featuring artworks and installations from various artists . The decor has wonderful old world charm, featuring a drawing room with a fire and complementary tea and coffee, books, magazines and board games . There are beautiful ,relaxing views of the garden from the picture windows. A lovely contemplative space that was good for the soul. Breakfast, which is included in the stay, is served in the dining room at beautifully set tables . It is a hearty continental breakfast of cereals, fruit, toast and spreads and muffins. A hot breakfast is available at a very reasonable charge . It’s an easy walking distance in to town for dinner or to look at the pretty shopping area. The hosts are very friendly and informative. We had a very relaxing stay.

Beautiful house, decor, fire, gardens, ambience. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming. Lots of little details - the tea and cake, books, newspapers. Superb gardens.

Pristine surrounds….Log fire and the most kind and friendly hosts. Taking extra care of older and younger guests. Lovely stay in every way. Great platter and excellent breakfasts. Rousing game of Scattergories by the fire. Easy short stroll into town and close to lots of wild flower areas. Couldn’t fault it. Hope to be back!!

This is a beautiful place to stay. It has everything that you need along with the character of a previous era. Louise was very helpful and provided any information I required. The room and bathroom were spacious and were clean and well maintained. The house gardens are exceptional, and the continental breakfast was lovely, with fresh and homemade menu items.

The noise from the adjoining room was quite obvious at times

Nothing it was all very good

Friendly service, breakfast and the one meal when we ate in were excellent, lounge and dine areas welcoming and comfortable. Our room was comfortable. The garden is a delight, together with its friendly feathered inhabitants.

Toilet paper, by far the worst we have experienced. Made toilet breaks an ordeal , using three to four times as much paper as we use at home, so false economy. It is the little things that help build an overall impression of the stay. The milk frother at the coffee machine did just that, turning milk into useless bubbly froth. After a couple of attempts we gave up and, for milk coffee, made a long black and added a little milk from the fridge. Our advice, throw it away; no need to replace it.

This is a lovely place. The lounge area was very welcoming and well set up with a roaring log fire. We were able to enjoy a quiet drink there. Tea and coffee making facilities and home made lemon cake. Beautiful gardens to stroll in as well though unfortunately the weather was too wet to enjoy this. That said umbrellas were provided near the front door. Our host also provided us with information on places to eat.

Breakfast was very good - set up in the dining room.
