Quiet, relaxing house on the water

We had a great time at the cottage. The house is right on the lake and very convenient to Watkins Glen. It was everything we wanted, and the car park was an added bonus since we had some rain the week we were up there. We'd definitely visit again!

Everything you need, plenty of space, privacy in the house and privacy outside too. Charming space and furnishings. Extremely convenient to the town, the lake, winery's and parks.

This house on the lake is wonderful… and you get the bonus of the small creek running right next to the house as well! Very soothing!

My sister and I loved our week at Adrian's house. A gorgeous little brook with waterfalls runs right beside the house and the sunsets looking west across the lake are spectacular! The house is a perfect location, so near Watkins Glen and is cozy and cute with nearly everything you need. I wish I had known that the water isn't potable and we had to exchange two 5 gallon jugs of water during our stay at the local Walmart.

The cottage was very cozy with a nice lake view from the veranda. Adrian took care of everything, the local wine for welcome, lots of wood, so we could spend long evenings by the fire pit. A very enjoyable vacation. Thank you Adrian for a great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect...a short drive to Watkins Glen and great wineries with amazing views. The house Was comfortable and had everything we needed. The neighboring creek provided relaxing background sounds for a soothing nights sleep. Property manager was easy to get in touch with. Will look to stay here again in the future.

Although it rained most of the time we visited it was still great. The location is amazing. The waterfall right outside the back door was awesome and relaxing. The lake was a little cold because of the nasty weather but we definitely enjoyed ourselves!!!

The cottage is nice and very quaint! It has a lot of room and was well stocked. Access to the lake was easy as it was right out the door and down the stairs. The porch was great for coffee in the morning and wine at night. It will be a strong consideration if I am in the finger lakes area in the future!

Everything about the cottage was "as advertised". It's a little bit quirky, but that just adds to the charm. The covered deck was a fabulous place to start our day with a hot beverage and end our day watching the sunset with a cold one. Not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight without the sound of the creek lulling me to slumber! Adrian is incredibly responsive to messages. She also sent a helpful list of local places to eat and shop etc over a week before our stay. Side note: we will always remember our time at the cottage as the place our 10 month old puppy swam for the first time!

We had a great time here. This house is great for 2 couples and centrally located for hikes, winery/brewery visits, Watkins Glen, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, etc. it met our needs and expectations. This is a classic lake house. I will caution that if you are looking for super modern, this place might not be for you. It’s down a long dirt/gravel drive and doesn’t have things like a dishwasher or central air. The listing is accurate. Let me state that these issues were not a negative for us, I just don’t want people to be disappointed if they don’t closely read the description. The location, views and charm make up for lack of some convenience features. We had a wonderful visit and would rent here again!

Quiet area, charming cottage and serene views on the private dock made for a fabulous get-away for us. Enjoyed the separate areas to use such as the back room for games, kitchen for eating and the family room for movies! Plenty of places to choose from for sleeping too. My favorite feature was the hammock. I spend many afternoons lounging in it while I ready! Thank you Adrian for allowing me, my husband, daughter and son-in-law into your home.

We stayed a week with our cat. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. The setting was great....quiet and peaceful. The location was wonderful. Lots of wineries and nice restaurants close by. Watkins Glen was only 10 minutes from the property. Adrian was very responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is magical. It feels like stepping back in time to the vacations of my childhood. Every detail of this home was thoughtfully curated. Adrian is beyond an amazing host. And the location is perfectly situated. We can’t wait to come back again.

We enjoyed our stay with with our family dog and definitely enjoyed the water in this Rustic and cozy turn of the century cottage. The last two days were a bit hot for a couple of our elderly family members, but we managed. Great location!

We really enjoyed staying here on a last minute getaway with our dogs and teenage girls. The cottage suited us well. We are an athletic family and love the water. It’s located in a perfect setting right on Seneca Lake with gorgeous views, a dock and and gorgeous pebble beach. It is also next to a beautiful stream with small waterfalls. I found this old cottage charming and interesting and had some of the best sleep listening to the beautiful sounds of nature. We loved having our dogs with us and enjoyed seeing our girls put down their phones and enjoy nature. The cottage is conveniently located about 5 minutes away from Watkins Glen and great wineries. There were many comforts provided by the owner that made us feel at home. That being said, this may not be as perfect for everyone as it was for us. It is an old cottage that could use some additional work and you must be agile to stay here but we loved it.

Cottage is built at the turn of the last century and has a lot of history and character. The house is not only on the lake but there is a small gorge going down next to the house which keeps it cool and means there’s a sound of gurgling water in addition to the lapping Lake makes for a great sleeping Our favorite place was the back porch overlooking the lake. It is perfect for reading, breakfast, and watching the sunset. The beach is also lovely a perfect flat stone beach with lots of privacy and a great dock. The water was cold but we swim every day. I highly recommend it especially to families

Cottage was wonderful! Very comfortable! Adrian was very easy to deal with and reachable when needed. The view and lake was relaxing and beautiful! Could use a coat of paint and some dusting but otherwise we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back again!

Just what we expected and more. Perfect quiet location, but convenient to town. Rustic, charming, with everything we needed.

This is the 2nd stay for my husband and I at the Cottage, and we loved it even more this time.

We are a family of 2 parents and 2 college aged children. In our stay we found the cottage to be welcoming, clean and comfortable. The sheets, towels and soaps provided were of good quality. We got the sense that the owener cared about how pleasant our stay was. There is a good view of the lake from the porch of the house and the dock is easy to get to and private. The wi-fi was good enough to stream movies on laptops and play games. We would stay there again.

My husband and I spent 4 days late into summer in Adrian's lovely family cottage. The wraparound windows in many of the rooms made us feel like we were camping in the woods, and the sound of the tree frogs, crickets and hooting owls at night gave us some of the best rest and sleep we've had in years. An amazingly peaceful spot, with a fantastic view of and beach right on the lake. The cottage has a rustic feel, but is comfortable, cozy and made us feel like we were spending time at a much loved family heirloom. The fact we could stay here with our two small dogs, made the stay even more amazing. They loved sniffing out the beach and woods. Thanks so much for letting us share this amazing jewel of a place!

My husband and I spent a week at the lovely cottage on Seneca Lake. Our stay was restful, gorgeous, and the cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Adrian was prompt, professional and fantastic to communicate with. Words can't really express how magical a place this is. The house itself was cozy and felt like home to us for the short time we were there. So great to sit out on the porch and just watch the sunset, which we did every night while eating dinner. My husband is from the Fingerlakes region and even he was impressed! Great location for those wanting to explore the region (and the lovely wines therein). We had perfect weather for our stay. It was hot, so the added pleasure of being able to jump off the dock and go canoeing every morning was wonderful. The company Adrian recommend regarding the canoe rental was great (Regan's). We highly, highly recommend brunch, lunch or dinner at the Stonecate Cafe in Hector, which is very close to the cottage. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone (friends family and those we don't know!). Expect, don't take our week...we are coming back! :)

If you are looking for a peaceful secluded cottage way back in the woods, look no further! As you drive down the nearly half mile drive through beautiful woods full of deer and chipmunks, you can feel the stress melt away. The cottage itself is unique, nicely decorated, and comfortable. It might not be for everyone, but we like unique! It is pet friendly, and our dogs loved spending the week trying in vain to catch chipmunks. Unfortunately the weather was pretty awful the whole week we were there, but we hiked anyway, just didn't make a lot of use of the dock. That's always a risk for any vacation, no fault of the cottage. Adrian was very quick to respond to all questions, and our deposit was returned promptly. Thanks for everything!

The cottage was very peaceful and well maintained with every convenience you need for a relaxing vacation. Adrian was very helpful and responded quickly when we had questions. We have already made plans to return next year. I would highly recommend this cottage for your next vacation.

I stayed with friends for a week at this wonderful cottage & we absolutely adored it. Many of the other 5 star descriptions accurately capture the quirky, vintage, classic, LOVELINESS that is this tranquil, serene, charming, escape. Spending time on the back deck overlooking the lake, star gazing on the dock, grilling on the beach, enjoying being tucked away in the woods among waterfalls...so many moments to treasure here. If you can manage to pull yourself away from the house, the local area has so much to offer as well, especially in incredibly close proximity to this tucked away retreat. The restaurants, breweries, distillaries, etc... are all top notch & the local farm to table cuisine is absolutely incredible. Plenty of hiking & gorgeous scenic views. I can't say enough about Adrian, the home-owner. She is extremely communicative, fair, and is a delight to interact with. I have many happy memories from my time at this cottage & I would love to come back and make more.

It's not a new place, and it's a little quirky -- but it makes for a lovely week-long relaxing getaway. Must be able to climb steps. The front porch that overlooks the lake was our favorite place (even when it poured rain!), but the well-stocked kitchen made the favorites list as well. Lots of windows and a breeze made it comfortable inside on even the hottest day. No mention was made in the description of the waterfall that runs alongside the entire property, so that was a bonus. Nothing quite like going to sleep to the sound of a babbling brook! The location is convenient to Watkins Glen, Seneca vineyards, Ithaca, and more. We'd come here again and recommend it to you.

Can't say enough about what a spectacular place this is to stay. The views are amazing and everything you need is right there, if you are looking to get away and have a nice relaxing peaceful weekend or week this is the place to be. Thank you!!

Our time on Lake Seneca was everything we wanted and more. This place was a fabulous little getaway in the woods, perfect for a romantic vacation for me and my fiance! The cottage is nestled at the bottom of a long hill and next to a small glen. The combination of days spent looking at the lake and nights spent listening to the water flowing down the glen were incredible--like the images and sounds they play at the spa, but in real life! From waking up and having coffee in the breakfast nook overlooking the lake, to reading or watching sunsets on the porch, I felt like I was truly able to relax. We spent most of our days on the dock and beach to soak up the sun (and to jump in the lake when things got too hot!). We also spent a lot of time exploring the vineyards nearby and trying out different restaurants. The cottage itself is older, but the place was clean and the furniture was comfortable, so its age only added to the charm. We cannot wait to go back!!!
