We loved our time at Snow Bear. It was a wonderful and relaxing get away. Beautiful views and so peaceful.

This is probably the most well appointed vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The owners thought of absolutely everything you could possibly want. The kitchen is well stocked with high quality cookware, utensils and serving pieces. You don't need to bring anything but your personal items. Trash bags, toiletries, zip lock bags, laundry detergent, etc. etc. etc. are all provided. To top that off, the place is truly beautiful. The design is unique and the house is extremely well built. The location was excellent. It would be nice to have a little more separation from the neighbors (especially from the master bedroom) but there were shades to provide adequate privacy so it wasn't really a problem. We would definitely stay here again. Whitefish in summer is absolutely fantastic and Ponderosa was a perfect place to stay!

Absolutely loved this property! Incredibly unique. A dream come true for children. Truly magical in so many ways. Great proximity to mountain activities. Can’t wait to come back in the winter. Gail is wonderful to work with! Could not have asked for a better trip!

My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 10th anniversary here. We’ve stayed in several rental properties through the years while vacationing and this by far was the best. We hope to come back in the future!

Snow Bear is absolutely beautiful with the highest luxury quality building and finishing touches and details. It has absolutely everything you need or want for a holiday or a longer stay. The only problem you will have is that you will not want to leave ... ever. You will want stay here in paradise in a fairy book story home. It sits right on the ski slopes with a view that is unmatched. Sit in your hot tub and look up at the ski slopes or look the other way and see see the mountain vistas. The secret turret will be everyones favorite hiding spot. You'll snuggle in with your love in front of the fireplace and feel like you are in heaven. I travel the world (literally) staying in the most amazing places, and this is one of my absolute favs in the world. There is good reason that this place is recognized as the best of the best.

The place is great and the company that manages the property was first class. You will have periodic disturbances at night when the groomers come by the slope. Generally, this was when we were sleeping. The lights come through the cabin and beep loudly when they go in reverse.

I really can't say enough wonderful things! I would use the word magical. We found October to be a precious time to come. While most things on the mountain top are closed, we were the only one around at night and it was extremely quiet. The weather was perfect for hikes (which you can easily do from the property) as well as horse back riding and bike riding. The quick drive to downtown Whitefish was lovely and had many options for food and drinks! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property.

February 16th - 21st Our family of four (son 10 and daughter 12) recently stayed at the Ponderosa and we couldn't be any more pleased. Gail was very supportive in answering our voluminous number of questions; but the property was the real star. The appointments and attention to detail are far superior to any other ski vacation we've taken. And let's not forget the ski-in and ski-out; we were literally footsteps from the slopes!

We came to Montana for an Old Fashioned Christmas - the snow, the cabin, holiday decorations, snuggling by the fire, the charming small town feel - and what we got was our very own Hallmark Christmas scene. It was purely magical and, at times, felt like we were inside our own snow globe! The chalet is extraordinary; we woke up from our cozy, heated beds to watch skiers cut down the mountain in elegant lines while we ate breakfast. The fireplace and Christmas tree were a beautiful touch that made the place feel like home. We would start and end our days in the hot tub on the porch while waving to people on the chair lift going up the Big Mountain. During the day, we'd pop into town and grab a bite in Downtown Whitefish or do an activity - Glacier is magnificent in winter or you can sign up for a sleigh ride or dog sled experience. We went down ther mountain to base camp to see the torch light parade where community skiers lit Santa's way down the mountain. Just spectacular! Otherwise, with this chalet, you never really have to leave. The full kitchen, laundry facilities, star gazing tower, spectacular views, Netflix and Wifi and built-in sound system offer an option where you don't have to leave the house to make wonderful, magical memories with your loved ones for the holidays in Whitefish, Mt. Thank you for all the memories! What a place! We will be back - and thanks to Teresa, the property manager who was so helpful and on call any time we had a question.

The Ponderosa Chalet at Snow Bear is such a fun place to stay! Our family enjoyed the spectacular views, the quiet and privacy and especially the hot tub up in the trees. We'll be back to enjoy the snows this coming ski season. So happy to find Snow Bear!

Waking up to mountain vistas (unfortunately, there was smoke from the wildfires to the west), from a relaxing and warm night's sleep. Coffee on the deck, no need for music here! The comfort of the Treehouse topped all-comfortable beds, warm and cozy down comforters, comfy "bean" bag chairs and a warm welcome beat anything I've found in Europe or elsewhere in the US!

We really enjoyed ourselves at the Ponderosa. Gail was great and always there to answer questions and offer suggestions on activities. The accommodations and view from the patio were really wonderful. We really enjoyed the hot tub and was a relaxing activity after our long hikes. Glacier was very accessible from the property as well as a short drive to Whitefish. We would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at the Ponderosa while sopping along our cross county adventure. This is a very unique and exceptional property with a wonderful location! Very clean and accommodating for my entire family. No one in my family wanted to leave.

This place is amazing - true luxury. The views are incredible and it is located right on the slopes. The property is brand new absolutely beautiful. The interior and furnishings are top of the line. My favorite the heated floors in the bathrooms mmmm. The architecture of the treehouse is awe inspiring. The hot tub on the deck is yes!. There is plenty of room for a family of 4 or 5. Kids and adults would love it here. You really do feel like you are in a treehouse when you are inside and level with the chairlift. Wish we could have stayed longer and wish we were there when it snowed. Parking is a little tricky but Gayle is a great hostess and will show you the ropes. Thanks Darryl & Gayle love your place and can't wait to visit again.

This was a beautiful property in new condition. My husband and I stayed the first night by ourselves. The second night we had our three kids (ages 12-16) join us. It was a perfect place for both scenarios. We walked on Whitefish Mountain, sat on the deck, and spent time relaxing inside enjoying the accommodations. It is a fun experience to stay in a luxury tree house.

Our stay at this incredible treehouse was a combination of fascination on the construction and amazement of the luxury you felt at every turn. I was impressed with the attention to detail from the granite counter tops, high end appliances, beautiful furnishings to the star-gazing turret. This unique luxury accommodation for both summer and winter is fantastic. Ski right up to the door from chair 3 or walk over to the summer activities on the mountain. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the deck as I watched the sunrise over Whitefish Mountain Resort. Truly a unique lodging experience and one I would highly recommend.

The pictures and descriptions don't really do justice to this beautiful chalet. You couldn't ask for a more convenient spot on the mountain, right next to Chair 3 and just a short walk into the Village. Of course it would be perfect for a ski vacation, but it was also magical in the summer with the wildflowers blooming and deer grazing nearby. This is the perfect rental for a family or very close group of friends. Plenty of seating, lots of storage, and a top-notch kitchen that was fully stocked with all the necessary appliances and tools. The layout is ingenious and feels far more spacious than the listed 825 sq feet. If there are family members less than comfortable with stairs the first floor contains everything you would need including the washer/dryer and deck access. This is a fabulous place!

I left after our stay wishing I could take the entire treehouse with me back to Portland! This property is absolutely beautiful inside and out, unique and interesting, in a magnificent setting right under Chair 3 on Big Mountain. The treehouse was spotless, supremely comfortable, and a model of tasteful simplicity. I would go back again in a heartbeat and have happily recounted our experience there to friends. Gail was a thoughtful and gracious host who made us feel completely at home.

My wife and I loved being here just the two of us, before the summer "season" started. It felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves, right outside our windows. It's just so cozy! And the layout is perfect- it's a nice space to hang out in. I was blown away when the owner told me the square footage - you'll never believe it because it doesn't feel small at all. Can't wait to go back in the winter - if it's this magical in the summer it's going to be incredible in the snow!!

I've stayed at the other Montana Bear vacation rentals and this one is just as spectacular! I stayed here with my husband during the soft opening and loved it. Everything is gorgeous and comfortable- a combination that can be difficult to get right, but that Snow Bear achieves with panache. It's funny, we both commented on how content we felt just hanging out at the island. We each had a little work to do during our stay and the set up was great- fast internet, enough outlets for us both, comfortable seats, and we had plenty of space to be together but not in each other's way. On a weird idiosyncratic note, I usually find machine-made drip coffee super unappealing, but the coffeemaker at Ponderosa was awesome. Not only is the coffee great, it's this beautiful dual chamber set up that boils the water completely separately from the coffee. This means you can actually have tea that doesn't taste like coffee - one of my pet peeves about most hotel rooms, SOLVED. Love it!! We used one of the recommended private chefs our last night and requested a seasonal vegetarian menu, which was incredible! Watching the trees sway around us and listening to the birds chirp while we had dinner on the deck was amazing. Overall it was a phenomenal experience and I look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
