We had a great time staying at Charteris House. Kylie’s communication was excellent and we were even treated with a special present for my mum (she loves the teddy bear). The rooms were perfect. The kitchen was great, and having 3 bathrooms/toilets was handy.

This house was the most perfect base for our stay in port elliot. The house is enormous, with plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. It’s also in a great location, and only a short walk to horseshoe bay, knights, and the high street. We loved it so much that we've already rebooked!

We stayed at this property for two weeks and were very disappointed. The pictures and reviews of this property were misleading. The only good point about this property is the location. The pictures online do not represent the property in its true state. It is run down and in need of plenty of maintenance 🙄 Whilst we were there it rained and all the gutters were blocked and overflowing due to moss and greenery growing in them. Security is almost non existent, with some doors rotting. The garden is overgrown and unloved. On top of that the property was filthy. We had to wash and clean everything we wanted to use. For example all the cutlery, plates and glassware were filthy and had to be washed before use. The oven, stovetop and range hood were disgusting. The house is full of cobwebs and dust. The cleaner is definitely not doing their job and hasn't for quite some time. All of the beds were so uncomfortable, so for the whole fortnight we did not have a good night's rest. Instead of continually renting out this property perhaps Kylie should take a look at her investment and perhaps get some maintenance done!!! Kylie is pleasant to talk to and apologetic about the situation but I strongly recommend that instead of apologising it needs to be addressed, not brushed off by offering a better deal next time we stay because for us there won't be a next time at any price. We paid a cleaning fee, what a joke as nothing was clean when we arrived!! We left the property cleaner than it was when we arrived!! Sorry Kylie, but I would definitely not recommend this property to anyone.

Lots of space and well equipped. Host is easy going and accomodating. We will definitely stay here again

This property is in a fantastic location and more than suitable for a large group. Quiet location and a short walk to everywhere in Pt Elliot. Everything at the property that you need. Probably due for a bit of updating/maintenance. Only down side was the cleaniness of the property. Perhaps need to look at a new cleaner. Clothes dryer filter not cleaned out, back of toilet in main bathroom filthy and dust and hair all around, rubbish under the bed in 1 bedroom, wine glass in 1 bedroom with liquid still in it, rangehood filthy and just very dusty in general. Maybe needs a spot check the day before property is being let.

Beautiful home, everything was there to enjoy. But , could do with spending a few dollars fixing basic items

Family travelled from interstate to join in the celebrations. The house was perfect for a large group and the location is great! Fully recommend!

This house didn’t disappoint. We chose it due to the fact we could have my mothers little dog along, and that it would accommodate our extended family comfortably and that the house is located perfectly to the Headland and great ocean views as well as to town for easy walks for coffee etc. It ticked all the boxes, a very enjoyable stay for our entire family!

Perfect location to walk to beach, shops, pubs and cafes. Great space for Family with two lounge / living spaces. Pool table provided lots of entertainment. Only given 4 stars as there was no “basic” items which are appreciated in holiday houses - such as body wash / shampoo / sauces etc. Apart from that we had a lovely holiday.

Large property, easy access to all amenities in Port Elliot. Great location to access the beach and lawned areas for barbeques and croquet or finska (bring your own). Eightball table is a high feature of this property if you enjoy this activity as we did. The kitchen had all features to enable basic cooking. It looks pleasing aesthetically as it is decorated in an antique style. The only downside to the property is air conditioning only in the lounge and kitchen and all mattresses were quite dated. Overall a good location if you like the beach and local shops.

We loved staying here. So close to everything. We had a surf carnival just down the hill! Our cars didn’t leave the driveway!!! Thank you.

Great place for families. Close to beach/shops, everything close handy. The house has lots of character with all needs catered for and the pool table got lots of use. We shall return.

The house was lovely, very spacious. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

We have stayed at other properties before in Port Elliot and Victor Harbor and this location was ideal for our family. The location is great and the accommodation has all that we needed. Top feature as rated by one of the grandchildren, "the stairs". His younger brother actually took a tumble down the stairs, but no damage caused.

Felt very comfortable and great to have the family all under the one roof. Had many laughs over many games of 8 ball. My dog loved waiting patently for the rabbit to pop its head out but the rabbit had the upper hand. Lol

Large and comfortable accomodation close to the beach and delightful town.

Perfect home for large group, quiet area. Kylie very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. Kitchen very well equipped with glasses, cooking utensils etc. two fridges. Nice big yard. Walking distance to beach, shops , pubs. Would stay again.

Great holiday house for a large group

Excellent all around, we were a quilting group and it was a great location for that. Also very close to all local facilities and heaps of parking.

Enjoyed the house and port elliot

A lovely old house. Very solid, spacious rooms and well equipped. There is a huge living/ dining/ kitchen area with great ambience. Needs a little painting and freshening up in the bedrooms/ hallway but overall a great place to stay.

Charteris house had great character and was in the best location for us to walk to all our favourite places...Horseshoe Bay, walking/riding tracks, shops, cafes and pubs, train station, tennis courts...The size of Charteris house and all the facilities ment that our three families could comfortably enjoy our stay. The pool table was a fantastic bonus!
