An absolute nightmare. Since they ask for the booking amount even before you arrive, be ready to be fooled once you arrive. You are paying only for the four walls. Except that everything is a struggle and is chargeable. My husband and I are avid travellers and we love to explore and experience different cultures and places, but this experience we will definitely never want to be repeated. This was my second trip to Kodaikanal and this property ensured it was my last trip to this place. The owner is reachable only on WhatsApp and not on calls, and you have to coordinate pretty much with the caretaker who will tell language problem once you have paid and go to him with any issue. Although the place has a bonfire pit, but we had to pay extra only for using it (Wood, diesel charges are justified i understand, but only to use the pit in the existing premise you have to pay). Coming to the greatest nightmare, every morning (except the day we checked in) there is a power cut (Owner told it's EB problem). Means your geyser will not work. We stayed for 2 nights and the first day we took bath in the cold water as the caretaker said he can't do anything. On the second day same thing was repeated and we got the same response from them. We waited for almost 2hrs for them to arrange. Finally around 10 am the owner spoke to the caretaker and he suddenly could arrange half bucket of hot water for us. And at that moment 'MAGICALLY' the electricity was also back when we refused to check-out without a solution for hot water. (The corner shop had electricity in the morning when we checked, dunno how). As I write this review, it's 2 days since I am suffering with fever and cold, thanks to the ice cold bath. Now coming to the food. The caretaker told us he can arrange for very good home cooked dinner. 800rs 1 kg chicken chettinad he told and paneer(1 serving) for 160rs. The chicken he bought was hardly 500gm and watery. And for the paneer, exactly 5 micro pieces.

There were no soap/towels( still fine with us) but the almirah was locked stating that it has laundry stuff stored and we can not use it. The water jar kept in the kitchen looked like it had stagnant water since weeks. The washroom towards the balcony had a very bad smell.

Garden, the 2bhk flat, specially Surya the caretaker who made our stay like home away from home.

Furniture and beds are very old & broken. Bathrooms are pathetic and toilet windows are not closable. kettle not working and no drinking water dispensers. No tv in rooms. Small 28inch tv in hall with unknown channels. No wifi. We checked out early morning and main issue faced is no hot water. Out of three rooms only in one room hot water was working. They are using cheap gas heaters and it never worked during our stay.

many things , first of all geyser was not working , he didn’t inform us prior to the visit and didn’t make any alternate arrangements. think about it no hot water in hill stations . no towel , soap , toothpaste or even water was provided . every time we have to ask request or quarrel . tv there was no channel . everything was looking old and even the beds were clean but not fresh .

Good space, great host. Very responsive and accomodative. Good location.
