Bin leider in Dunkelheit angekommen und bei Dunkelheit abgereist. Somit kann ich die Lage des Hotels nicht beurteilen. Aber das Hotel und das Personal bleibt mir in sehr positiver Erinnerung und die Unterkunft ebenfalls. Sollte ich mal wieder nach Lüneburg kommen werde ich natürlich in der Wassermühle übernachten.

Location is nice in small village.
Our experience with this property is dominated by the fact that we were not able to check in on late arrival and forced to sleep in the car. We had called the property well in advance to inform them that we would arrive late. We were told to call the number on the door to the restaurant to be let in. When doing this on arrival around 9:30 pm, it turned out to be a non working number. It is possible that poor mobile reception in the area (as reported by some reviewers) caused this problem, but this was the only means to try to contact the property. Multiple attempts to knock on (locked) doors etc were unsuccessful in getting the attention of anyone. An additional word of caution is the curious circumstance that the street address of the property is identical to the address in a nearby village, where the GPS will take you in spite of following the suggestions given by the hotel. Using the geographical coordinates is to be strongly recommended if you wish to stay in this hotel. I’m not able to judge the facilities due to the above events. I strongly urge the proprietors to offer additional means of contact if allowing late arrivals. Our experience was very unfortunate, further complicated by our old age, 87 and 76 respectively.

Bed linen was itchy and pillows either too big or too small (2 provided),;food qualitywas haphazard and staff did not inquire as to why food was barely touched at dinner; orders arrived 5 minutes apart

Beautiful place. exceptionally nice staff, they will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. would highly recommend.

The location was ideal for Luneburg Heide (north) and Luneburg. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were accommodated in the annex house which had very generous room space and comfortable beds. Breakfast was very generous with a good choice, but the bread was located on a fairly high shelf so tricky to reach. We also had dinner in the hotel, much of the menu was locally sourced and there was a wide selection with generous portions.
The hotel is based on three sites with reception being located across the road from the car park and accommodation - not so good in rain. Reception when we arrived was very busy and cramped due to doubling for both the hotel and restaurant. This made it difficult for both staff and guests.
