Absolutely nothing

Easy to find, very friendly staff, welcoming and very friendly. The room was clean and a good size for one person. Bed was comfortable and very close to shops and the movies

We loved the hospitality and keeness to make our stay comfortable.

A second bedside lamp would have been great.

The location is good, very convenient to the CBD and connecting roads. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen sink and crockery/microwave/jug and tea/coffee making facilities were good. The bathroom facilities were clean. A great shower with quick flow of hot water. The aircon and fan worked well. I liked the undercover parking for the car right outside the room.

Only one towel provided for 2 people. We had to ask for another one which was provided readily and cheerfully (two more were brought straight away). The previous guests' toiletries were left in the shower. The shower caddy was rusty. The small "show" pillow on the bed had stains on the front and back of the cover. There were no dessert spoons in the drawer. The curtain behind the basin had mildew along the lower half. The worst part was that when my husband went to pick up the key, he was charged for the room a second time although it had already been prepaid. Then when I went back to reception to try to fix this, we were charged a third time instead of a refund being made. On the second day, I asked for a cash refund and this was done that afternoon. New managers needed more training with office technology.

The bed was fine, so was the location and price.

The bathroom was filthy. There was hair in the drain, brown marks and mould all through the shower. Urine marks were visible down the front of the toilet.

Bed was really confy.

TV remote was not working had to use buttons on rear of tv to change channels and volume.

The fridge could have been cleaned, the mould on the bathroom ceiling was a bit gross and the patches of paint/plaster missing off the walls. All easy fixes....

Suitable location for our needs

Could have been cleaner. Mould on walls and ceiling in bathroom. Torn and mouldy curtain in bathroom. Large stain in carpet very noticable. No tea towel in kitchenette. Overall cleanliness very poor.

The shower was not always hot,

Room was awful. Mould in bathroom, curtains filthy, carpet had not been cleaned, to the extent we were constantly picking up rubbish and old food so that our baby didn’t choke on it. Rubbish bins out front of motel overflowing so rubbish blowing into carport.

house cleaning wasn't up to standard dirty cutlery, bugs in the cutlery tray, stains on the carpet. I waited in the office for 15 minutes before somebody arrived thought the manager was rude needs a lesson in public relations and late at night he was arguing in the room next door with his partner.The location was on a noisy main road.

We did not get to stay at Kalua on 30 August, as reception said they had no booking for us, although I had a confirmation number and it was on booking.com website. Reception said - sorry, fully booked, can't help you. We had to search for Bundaberg accommodations, without a car, as night approached.

The fact that our booking was not recorded at Kalua, despite being on the booking.com website.
