Breakfast was really good

The location is perfect. Mathildedal is just beautiful and there are many things to do. Hotel room beds are great, sturdy and comfy. The hotel restaurant is cozy, idyllic.
The room is expensive for its size and quality even with the amazing location. Very small. It is not well thought out: there is no bin, the electric sockets are in odd places, shower weirdly set, doesn't quite fit, and the shower door is a little short short. Lights are not operable from bedside. This would all be okay for a lower price. Also, because of the price I expected the promise of a special breakfast to be really special: it was quite ordinary and not plated well - plated food should be nicely arranged, at least at this price point.

Excellent service, delicious breakfast and very clean and quiet rooms. We really enjoyed a good night sleep here. We also did a nice hike around the lake nearby. Highly recommend this place when you stay in Mathildedal.

Due to only two people managing the reception and public cafe, service was a bit slow, so make sure you're not in a hurry at breakfast or checkout

The breakfast was exceptional and the service was excellent. The shops and shopkeepers had excellent products and reasonable prices. I liked watching the boats and even a ice-breaker went by.
The rooms were very clean and modern but not at the expense of atmosphere.
We needed to charge our phones in the bathroom. The reading lamp was insufficient.

Perfect location to explore the village. Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was lovely!
All was good, I might come again! Perhaps some little bit of luxury could be added for this price.

This was our second stay at Hotel Mathildedal, first time in winter. It's a cozy little hotel with nice atmosphere. The breakfast and service in general are great!
We had the smallest room type so there was not that much extra space which was not a problem during a 1 night stay.
