We were given a free room upgrade for our wedding anniversary. The staff at the hotel are professional and friendly. Our room is inside a beautiful cave, it is clean, comfortable, and quite. The hotel terrace is simply magical. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Matera.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good. Quiet. Beautiful view from the terrace. Safe and refrigerator in a spacious room. Good supply of hot water in the shower. Decent breakfast. Near good restaurants.

It was a bit challenging to figure out how to work the door lock. The beds could have been more comfortable.

The room was very spacious and clean. It was also very quiet so we could relax well. The hotel is a very nice view to Matera old own from its Terrace. The staff was also very friendly and gave us a lot of tips and suggestions.

I loved my tiny room carved into the rock. The terrace offers the most spectacular view on Matera. There are educational videos on Matera shown discreetly in the breakfast room, very interesting.

It was so nice to be upgraded into bigger room upon my arrival where I found a cute Xmas tree. The hotel is located in a cave and it is easy to find as you walk directly up Via Casalvuo from the main square passing Matera Museum. There is the best view over Matera from the hotel terrace and the tiny alley behind the hotel back gate. My stay exceeded all my expectation in Matera and this hotel. I would definitely return here again!

Room was excellent, albeit up a steep flight of stairs. Breakfast was outstanding. The terrace, where we had breakfast, has stunning views, and the staff were delightful. The location is absolutely perfect. We were really sorry to leave!

What a place!!! Cannot recommend this place enough, the terrace where you have breakfast and can sit and have a drink etc anytime has an amazing view of Matera but is only a 5 minute walk from the centre. The view is magical at night too. Free parking down the road and easy to find.

Location! Cave-like rooms at the end of the gorge where Matera is perched. Outdoor terrace with incredible views you can enjoy at breakfast or at sunset with a drink. Hotel front desk staffers were very friendly and helpful.

The first night we stayed there, the room felt quite damp/humid (Because of its cave location); there was a dehumidifier in the room that we used, and after the first night, the room was normal.

A wonderful hotel in every aspect. The service is impeccable. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The room we had was clean, comfortable and modern but integrated into the historic cave structure. Highly recommended!

Amazing location. We enjoyed everything about this place . It exceeded our expectations. Very large bedroom and bathroom. Very clean. Breakfast was the best. After travelling for three weeks we found the selection and freshness was awesome. The view from the terrace was unbelievable. All the staff made us feel welcome. They went out of there way to make sure we had all that we needed. They organized the walking tour in English. Guide was Barbara. We highly recommend. Susan
