We were looking for a Taxi durant 1 hour. At the end we went walking to the Hotel I recommend to offer service of Taxi from the hotel.

The shower was lovely and hot, breakfast was ok and some of the staff were great.

The decor looked tired and needed refurbishing, the evening meal tasted unpleasant and the bed was uncomfortable. The menu was only in French

Great location, entrance hall to the hotel, high ceilings, spacious room; a secure car park nearby the property (extra paid)

Very hot room (even though outside it was cold); we didn't have the option to open the window (no way to open the window vertically so that our cat would have stayed safe) plus the noisy street; the air conditioning working but for sure not cooling the room; we had troubles to sleep in this conditions; also too soft, thin pillows - if there were none it wouldn't make such a difference; also I found strange that we got rolls of paper that were already... started = used by someone else. A bit gross, to be fair. First time I saw something like this in any hotel.

In the center of dax, clean and comfortable. The best of this is a spa

The ambiance in the hotel is very pleasant and it has the feel of a top class art deco hotel which must have been ‘splendid’ when it was built. The staff were all very courteous and helpful and the rooms were large and very comfortable, although they are old fashioned.

Parking was not ideal. You have to leave the car in a public car park nearby and there is nowhere to stop to drop off bags before parking. The car park Is quite old and the spaces are small - we damaged our car whilst squeezing in!

Good room with space. We got a corner room which is nice. Breakfast was good. Parking nearby worked very well.

Nothing really. Be careful thoughto book dinner in advance if you want dinner.

the hotel is situated right in the center of town with a view of the river. Staff were friendly & helpful. The lunch was good & the room was clean & comfortable.

The equipment & the decor in the room was starting to get a little tired.

Nice hotel and nice location. Cocktails are lovely but you have to wait ages for them to serve you.

Staff was rude and the rooms wasn’t that clean.

Hotel is beautiful and location is nice

Because of the coming festival, there was no room service, hotel bar fridge was empty and after asking they refused even just a beer of soda. Restaurant was closed too, that is just fine, but for this price they should still provide some basic service for people who stay in the hotel or provide a smaller option list, but now it was just "talk to the hand". Staff was arrogant and not helpful.

Very clean hotel room.

If you name your hotel "Splendid", this raises expectations. I am from Holland, travel al lot, and despite my native language is Dutch, I speak English throughout whole of Europe. Even in France, where people speak this language rather poorly in general. But most people try. But not in the Splendid Hotel, despite they claim to be a tourist hotel. This concrete colossus is overlooking a river and is situated right next to a picturesque bridge. As is mentioned in the hotel information. However, if you cross that bridge, it is nothing but a slump like neighborhood, where streets are littered with broken glass and garbage. Right in front of the entrance of the hotel, poop is lying on the floor. And even a day later, not a single hotel employee has felt the need to remove this, so that the hotel guests can enter or exit the hotel without stepping right into it. The direct surroundings of the hotel are full of garbage. It is everywhere. The side of the hotel provides an outside entrance to the Spa and Wellness area. A nice fountain welcomes the guests with some brown colored substance. When my wife and I made an attempt to book a diner reservation in the restaurant, it was "fully booked". Our experience is that when a hotel booking is confirmed, the reception contacts us to inquire if we want to book a table in the restaurant when that is necessary. But not here. During the evening, and after we had diner elsewhere, we noticed that the "fully booked" restaurant had more than 30 tables that were prepared for dinner, and only a handful of guests that actually had diner. The restaurant manager was not able to communicate with me in any other language than French. This was an experience we hope not to encounter again.
