We booked the hotel for 2 nights to visit nearby Conny-Land (40mins drive from the hotel) and we were really impressed with the beauty of the place, the family-friendliness, staff, food quality and room comfort. We booked a twin room for 2 adults and 1 child and they installed an additional bed in the room, which still allowed for plenty of space. The hotel grounds have a large outdoor playground and an indoor play room below the restaurant, which the 3 kids in our group really enjoyed. There is also a covered terrace outside right next to the outdoor playground, which I imagine is great during summer. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday that weekend, we sent them a message the day before our arrival asking for a small cake to be brought to our table in the morning and not only did they reply instantly, but they prepared a special muffin and a decorated plate saying "Happy birthday" for my daughter and a bunch of other muffins for the full group so that the other kids don't get upset - at no extra cost. We really appreciated the gesture. Breakfast was just enough choice (fried/boiled eggs, cheeses, cold meats, bircher, cereals, breads and jams, fruits, espresso coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice). We also had dinner there (restaurant closes at 9pm), quite a lot of variety, with a kids menu as well. The local rosti and Angus beef sauté were delicious. I would wholeheartedly recommend for families, our friends had the family room - very spacious with an additional room with bunk beds for kids. Very comfy beds and daily room service.

It would have been wonderful to have a mini-refrigerator in the room, but not such an inconvenience, as the weather was chilly and we kept stuff on the balcony.
