The location was spot on. It was close to town, to the activities and also the house itself is tucked away from the main road giving you the peace and quiet. I will return again at this place as the host (Andrew) goes above and beyond giving you the best experience. Andrew was able to organise a boat tour to the nylon pool, order a taxis and also fix my broken bag. What a pleasant experience and an amazing human being.

this is a great place to be, close to the best beaches in the island and with al lot of space to hang out with other travellers. Andrew has been a great host, always kind and full of useful suggestions. there is a lot of places where you can buy food and the transport pass really close to the hostel. you also rent a kayak. I will definitely come back when I’m the island again.

Andrew the host was great! He was super nice, knowledgeable about the island and was happy to chat or give space. He was kind enough to let me come with his family on a day trip up the coast and see some sights! The location is great,and public transport is easily taken around the island. Highly recommended!

Id thoroughly recommend candles in the wind. Andrew was a relaxed and resourceful host who kindly drove back to the airport to dop a phone we'd left behind. His place is minutes from two wonderful beaches and even closer to the main strip, excellent value too. I fully understand why he has guests that come back year on year.

Clutching for something, wifi was a little intermittent, probably a good thing

The location was just what I was looking for. I just needed a place to stay for the night and was happy that I was able to get a booking there

I have no complaints

We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Andrew, the owner, took really good care of us and made sure our stay would be special. We got a lot of tips were to go as we unfortunately only had one day to discover the place. He helped us with our bike rental (we didn't know that he also have some rental bikes himself). As we ended up with a flat tire and couldn't reach through to the rental, he did his best to assist, so that we could get the best of our few hours. The place itself is very tidy, peaceful and cosy. It has a good and stable wifi connection and a kitchen with everything one can wish for. Bars, restaurants as well as the airport and the beach are in walking distance. We'll definitely stay at the Candles again!!! It was a pleasure! Ahhh and I almost forgot the bananas. There are bananas growing in the garden, which Andrew shares with his guests, what a pleasure! :)

Towels and linen were smelly, place a bit stale as if no one had been there in a while. a little musty. Could have used air freshener.

I stayed 5 days in a single room with attached bathroom here in a quiet residential neighbourhood. My wonderful host Andrew was a great source of helpful information including how to find local waterfalls and places to see and eat. One night he even made Cow Heel soup for us and it was delicious. He also helped with things like laundry, finding print shops, etc. The room has plenty of closet space, great a/c, a very comfortable bed and the guesthouse is close to many restaurants and bars just a 15 minute walk from the airport but he can arrange transportation if you don't fancy the walk. I loved my stay here and highly recommend it. Thanks again Andrew.

The only downside was that he cannot accept credit cards, but there are several ATMs very close by so that is a minor issue. I had no wifi in the airport so finding the place wasn't the easiest but get directions beforehand or just ask a friendly local.
