The house and grounds are lovely, a little bit of country in the suburbs. Flavia the hostess was charming and ran through things with us. It's easy to access Porto from the station a ten minute walk away. There are restaurants nearby, which are excellent. Also there is a big supermarket within walking distance. Loved this place, the perfect place from which to visit Porto. We would certainly return.

No complaints, other than obviously because it is close to the motorway and railway, there is a little noise, but nothing intrusive.

Very cute and comfortable setting. Take advantage of the bbq if you can. If you have a car its only 20 mins to down town Porto, and we also travelled to the small village of Pinhao in the douro valley, its a must see.

Train connection to Porto was excellent. BBQ and outdoor area very comfortable. Host was very attentive and always available with help and suggestions for day trips. Several supermarkets and shops nearby.

The house is very old and smells accordingly.

There's a shopping center just less than 5 min by car or 10 min walking. There's a big supermarket so in case you need anything. We rent a car but there's a train station, Sousel, just 5 min from the house.

The swimming pool... Even it was great... i can't consider the tank as a swimming pool. It's more like a natural jacuzzi... But it was perfect for the hot days and it will be perfect for small kids.

The peace and quiet. We requested extra pillows, this was no trouble. The pool water was dirty, full of dead bugs and huge spiders, that being said the owner did say if we wanted to use this they would clean for us which was accommodating of them. There was a large area with table and chairs suitable for alfresco socialising, after checking the owners they did allow for family to visit providing they had left by 8pm which was appreciated.

Within the first 20 minutes of arriving we had to remove an army of ants trying to move a wasp in the downstairs bedroom. Chase out 2 giant Hornets and a cockroach that scuttled out from the sofa, not the best first impression although I guess thats what happens in a rural location. The throws, cushions and rugs were tired not to mention felt dirty and had stains. Whilst I appreciate it's a rustic farm feel they are definitely in need of updating. The towels had a musty smell. Sadly the outside area isn't a small child friendly environment, lots of uneven slabs, steps and old sharp farm relics scattered around. Every time the tap was running there was a loud strange noise a bit like someone using a chainsaw. The smell coming from the drains was pungent and extremely unpleasant.
