The area of the hotel is fabulous! The cleaning staff is very polite and always smiling. Breakfast buffet was wonderful as always. We could choose comfortable pillows to sleep (very good option).

The first bungalow, that we got (724), was with 5 air conditioning blocks on our roof. The sound of working AC system was terrible and we couldn’t sleep (we come here our third time and this happened to us for the first time). After first night of our stay we got another bungalow (732), which was better and with isolated bathroom (thanks god, because we are family with two kids (10 and 14 years old) and interior of family deluxe bungalow is supposed to be with comfortable isolated shower, sink area etc.). The only one minus was in another bungalow: the common door between us and our neighbors in 731. We heard everything from their side, and they heard everything that we were talking about. All sounds were not loud, but we heard every word anyway. Please do think about the isolation.

The beach was great. Service staff was exceptional and awesome! Stavros in the Veranda restaurant was simply beyond expectations. The manager Anastasia was very kind and exemplary.

Hmmm. Communication was sometimes difficult. Language barrier not major issue. I wish television was more balanced . Not fair it was all German language.

The hotel is very clean, very well maintained big private beach with umbrellas and sun beds 3 swimming pools. the place doesn’t feel crowded and very good breakfast

The only thing is that the hotel is in Malia, which is not authentic Greek village, but, if you have a car, you can drive to many places within 15-60 minutes

The pool is excellent for toddlers, the food os very tasty at the restaurants

The beach and pools are beautiful and clean. The staff was very kind everywhere !At the reception made efforts to give our rooms before 15 h as we had a night flight. We had two rooms side by side which opened to the same balcony ,it was just wonderful !The staff of the spa recommended treatments in a very kind way, even on the beach. We've got two excellent professional massages.

Small things concerning the AC remote control and that the TV starts every time as you put your card for ekectricity as well as a weak WiFi in some areas of the resort.

It is a beautiful place, everything was perfect, even better as expected. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Everything about the hotel was just perfect! The staff are all very helpful, giving excellent service no matter your needs. The operations manager took time out to personally meet with us to ensure we had everything we needed and that our stay was perfect. We felt this was going above and beyond when it comes to a hotel stay. We booked bed and breakfast. Breakfast choices were vast, all food was of excellent quality and the dining room is immaculate and very welcoming with beautiful views. We also had the pleasure of dining in 2 of the a la carte restaurants. The food in those was outstanding with customer service to match….not to mention the views! Overall, the hotel facilities are amazing. Bedrooms are very well equipped and spacious. We had a beautiful sea view from our bungalow. There are 6 pools to choose from along with a private beach. We visited the spa for massage and facials. Treatments were fab but a little over priced as spa treatments go. We will definitely return to Ikaros village and would highly recommend.

Beautiful location. Very nice resort. Lots of places to have privacy. Beautiful landscaping. There is something there for everyone. If you want luxury and exclusivity, you book the private villas directly overloooking the sea. Otherwise, you can stay in very nice comfortable rooms and also enjoy a nice time.

The indoor pool water got cold during the week I stayed. Too bad as the outdoor pools were not warm yet.

The hotel and the surrounding area was just beautiful. The beach was also the most dreamy, sandy beach I have ever been to. I don't think the pictures justify how gorgeous was the hotel building itself, it was like a small, secluded luxury stone village. It was also 20 minutes walking distance away from Malia town. I would definitely recommend visiting the small town ,as it is full of little restaurants with delicious food. I would highly recommend Red Lion Bar & Restaurant - try the passion fruit frozen daiquiri - You wont regret it, I promise! :) And another beautiful romantic place is Avli in Malia - and ask for a seat on the terrace, just pure beauty! The hotel also had 3 big pool areas, so there were plenty of options if for some reason you didn't want to go to the hotel's beach.

The bars near the pool areas were not really up to the 5 star standards. The house cocktails were pre-made, kept in a glass bottle at the bar - so whenever you asked for a drink, they just added some ice to a glass and poured the bottled cocktail over that. It was very unsatisfying and expensive, all things considered! I would definitely recommend skipping the iced coffee at the pool bar - it's just instant coffee with lots of water and a bit of milk. You can get that for free in your room. We had a room with Breakfast included - Buffet breakfast was pretty ok, lots of options but nothing too out of ordinary. You could definitely get full if you wanted to. But for dinner I would definitely recommend trying the local restaurants! Much cheaper and the taste is so much better! You can find a traditional and very tasty restaurant just 5 mins from the hotel - for example Socrates - the owner is lovely and the food is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The Buffet dinner at the restaurant is very mainstream - they wanted to please everyone, so the seasonings and the food options became quite blend. At the reception they could barely speak English and had a hard time to understand anyone who spoke only English. So there was quite a big language barrier there. It must be the perfect place for someone who speaks german, but for everyone else there will be a struggle communicating with them. Probably because of this, they also managed to mess up our 1day trip to Santorini we paid for, because we were not on the Travel agencies list at all. The general manager's attitude was quite harsh as well. Obviously there were some COVID restrictions at the Buffet, like wearing a mask when you are not seated. Then on the second/third day also implemented wearing gloves - which is totally understandable and I welcomed this decision - but the way they made us aware of this was not professional at all.

Ikaros is the best possible place to destress and come back to life. Here’s what we loved about our stay: - incredible hospitality from the entire staff! We would especially thank the hotel management Mr. Nikos, Mr. Stelios - who made our stay very special and gave us personal attention to make us comfortable. - the resort itself is huge with gorgeous landscaped gardens, terraces and pools. We loved walking around and discovering little nooks to relax in. - there are 6 restaurants and 3 bars, with different styles, providing great variety and quality of food and drinks. Breakfast was great too with lots of options. - our room was a bungalow with a private pool - providing ultimate luxury and relaxation. The facilities and amenities were comfortable, modern and very clean. - Ikaros’s own beach was easily accessible and clean. Food and drinks were nearby at all times. There were enough sun beds and umbrellas. Overall, we did not want to leave this property throughout our stay. It is indeed a little village by itself with everything you need and want for your perfect holiday!

Location was perfect. Many bars & restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel. Hotel grounds were kept very clean. The main breakfast restaurant is just perfect offering a high range of food to suit any dietary requirements. Restaurant staff couldn't be more helpful. Housekeeping is of a high standard, staff are extremely helpful and inside of bedrooms are spotless. Very comfy beds with lovely linen.

Photographs of bedrooms on the website are very misleading. On arrival, our room bore no resemblance to the room we were given. After seeing three additional rooms we were ready to check out of the hotel. After seeing a further two rooms we were given a better room. Each room we saw had dark marks on the walls which look like damp. 5-star resorts are usually better maintained, especially when the hotel is closed for the winter months. The hotel offers spa services, the ladies from this spa wait for you outside breakfast each morning, then during the day they constantly bother you at the swimming pool or beach. They are touting for business constantly, even when you politely say no they do not leave making you feel very uncomfortable. Adult only swimming pool not very clearly displayed as such. Swimming pools not maintained or even visited by staff, glasses build up during the day attracting ants. Each room had a patio or balcony, unlike the bedrooms is not kept very clean. Food, drink satins on the floor attracting ants from previous guests and a very large clump of hair was under the table which was not mine. Most hotels you travel to now are aware of how to treat guests and how to make them feel valued by the smallest thing such as saying hello or goodbye when entering or leaving the hotel. At this hotel, there is none of that. Some staff are very remote from the guests leaving us feeling undervalued and just a commodity

Inside our room was very nice. The view is a little obstructed with a roof in front but after seeing other rooms so dark and small windows we were happy with our room.

I am very pleased with our stay at Ikaros beach so relax and warm atmosphere staff works very professional and efficient. My special regards to Georgia she is so kind and attentive person and helped us to fulfill our wishes. We strongly recommend this hotel

We really liked being upgraded to private pool suite - thanks a lot! It really made our stay great. Also the taverna right by the beach was good. Staff was super friendly!

The main restaurant was a very bad choice for dinner. Crowded place with low quality food. Also the “fine dining” restaurant was similarly bad except more expensive. It is much better to get dinner in Malia or Heraklion. The beach was super crowded!

Overall the entire resort is amazingly maintained. The rooms are very clean and perfectly furnished. The facilities are perfect. The food is not that amazing, but still pretty good. We got a free upgrade from a normal small room to a huge apartament. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely come back if we had the opportunity.

There was little to dislike during our stay at Ikaros. I could argue that the stuff doesn't know English very well, the "garden" view can be a "stone wall view" and our personal sauna didn't work. But I am just nit picking here. This place is great value for money with substantial discounts, normally I would say it's pretty expensive.
