The location is perfect! 5 min walk to the Terme di Saturnia (free) and very close to the spa resort.

If you like to sleep on iron springs and the most uncomfortable pillows on this earth with gekkos all over the walls, look no further and book a room here.

Beds were a bit hard and lumpy. Staff communication could have been better. They didn’t tell us about wifi or that the gate closes by 9pm and we should use the key.

The room wasn't clean much, I found hair on one of the pillows. They neither changed the towels nor renewed the toiletries on the second day. The pillow was extremely low, so it was very hard to sleep. We paid around 110€ per night, this price is too much for this service in my opinion.

The breakfast was nice! It's very Italian — lots of pastries, bread and cheese. The location was gorgeous and very close to the hot spring waterfalls (the free one) — about 4 or 5 minutes. The rooms were nice and spacious (they were more like mini apartments; with a lovely balcony that had amazing views and a fully equipped kitchen). Be warned: This is the countryside, and during the summer, a few bugs are the norm! Don't leave food out overnight and close your windows in the evening. Also, if you haven't been to sulphurous hot springs before, well, it smells a bit like sulphur (we lived in a hot spring resort town in Beppu, and honestly don't care). Your clothes will smell a bit of sulphur, but a good wash will get that out. Also, go at dawn / dusk and take some slippers you don't mind getting wet — you have to cross a very shallow waterway (heated) to get to the best bathing spots of the hot spring. The staff are kind and welcoming — they don't speak the best English, but they will try their best to engage with you and help you out. Google Translate and patience will go a long way! Getting there / leaving is not the easiest thing in the world if you don't have a car. There are no buses from the major cities like Florence. We took several buses to get there from Florence (around 5 hours or so), and then, the final bus for getting to Saturnia from Montemerano never showed (or came early and we missed it), so we ended up walking 50 mins or so to the hotel; but it was a nice day and we travel light, so no big deal. Going back, we got up at 5am to take a bus to Grosseto (which was about 10 minutes late; but it's more reliable, as it also transports school kids and college kids to Grosseto from Saturnia and Montemerano), and then another to Florence. It was fun, but if you aren't up for that... take a car!

The WiFi signal was not very strong in our room — there were problems connecting at first as well. I mostly had to be outside (or seated right next to our room's doorway) to use the WiFi, which wasn't ideal, since I needed to do a few work meetings. Tried it on my laptop (macbook) and phone (Android); neither one could connect in a stable way from my room. I ended up mostly using my mobile data for anything intensive (like a video call/ meeting).

We loved everything about our stay there! The apartment was amazing, clean, cozy and well equipped, we had a beautiful view from the terrace, the air conditioning works great. The breakfast is very good. The owners are really friendly and accomodating. Highly recommended!
