Super charming Victorian cottage with beautiful stained glass windows and many period details. Lots of little amenities let you know the hosts really care. Great walkable location to coffee, restos and beach/ocean boulevard. Those traveling w littles or olds should know the stairs are steep and bedrooms authentically narrow. Third floor loft a bonus for older kids or makeshift office.

This was the cleanest, best maintained, most widely appointed to all of our wants and needs, the cutest rental house I’ve ever enjoyed. There is far more room than it might appear from the outside and the entire home has been renovated in a period friendly way. Gorgeous. It has mot everything you could need or want in the kitchen and tucked away in closets, drawers and the garage is everything else. Trust me. It has everything you have at home and maybe more. The owners called to be sure we had everything we needed and when the block’s electricity went out, they called with info and brought flashlight. All that and it’s walkable to the beach. You can see the beach from the top level. Restaurants and shops are a block away.

Lavender house is a wonderful, happy place. It's tucked into a quiet street - serene but close to everything. Inside and out, it's thoughtfully done, down to the smallest detail. Host was responsive without being overbearing. I hope it's available next year - we'll be back!

Such a pretty house, loved the location and all the amenities (full kitchen, laundry, parking). Convenient and walkable to PG shops, restaurants and the beach trail. Would love to stay here again the next time we’re in the area!

Quaint antiqued-filled house with updated amenities.
Teens enjoyed the third level room. The other 2 bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms looked like a "blast from the past" with the claw foot tub and the upper box to flush the toilet (all worked great!)

The house is beautiful and within walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beach. Easy drive to Monterey Bay Aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf. So relaxing to have all the comforts of home away from home!

Very comfortable and functional house and super well located! Kitchen nicely stocked. Three levels, bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, excellent washer and dryer on first level. Short walk to Lovers Point Park and beach, restaurants. Short drive to Asilomar State Beach for sunsets. Shout out to Fourniers Bakery Cafe for coffee and pastries. Would love to make it an annual trip.

We absolutely love the Lavender House! It has become an annual trip for 3 years in a row now. Not only is the home beautiful and clean, but the neighborhood is quiet and you can walk everywhere. The beach is a 5 minute walk away, restaurants are 5-10 minutes away, the Farmer's market is 3 minutes, a park is practically next door for little kids, and the aquarium is about a 25 minute walk along a beautiful paved path by the ocean.

We had had a wonderful extended weekend in Lavendar House. The house is so cute and cozy, and has everything you might need, including a full kitchen well-stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. The bed we slept in was very comfortable (it was on the firmer side; the other queen bed had a memory foam mattress). The upper loft-like bedroom would be a perfect place for kids, and also had a wonderful view out to the ocean. The location was perfect - extremely quiet, yet a block away from the main street through Pacific Grove. Would definitely stay here again!

We met our friends and stayed at Lavendar House for the Ren Sport Reunion at Laguna Seca. It was lovely to have a nice place to relax, so close to the beach. We were walking distance to some very nice restaurants. We loved walking on the beach and meeting other reunion attendees. It really felt like being home.

This is such a happy and welcoming home with a timeless elegance yet cozy and modernized for comfort. The host very generously left a delicious wine and cheese that absolutely delighted! The location is perfect, close to restaurants, shops, and two blocks from the ocean with easy bike path access to downtown Monterey. We had an amazing time, highly recommend The Lavender House!

Well-stocked and a cozy retreat with beautiful little accents throughout the home. Stairs were a little steep and all the sleeping arrangements are upstairs so may not be ideal for folks with mobility issues or small children. Our family enjoyed staying here regardless. Everything we needed was either a walk or a quick drive away. Don’t miss out on the 17-mile drive!

We had a great time at the Lavender House. The location was great for walking to the Aquarium and running along the coast. Pacific Grove downtown was a short walk away with excellent restaurants and coffee shops. The house was neat and clean.

We loved our stay at the Lavender House! The outside of the home looked so amazing, and in person was even better than the pics! Inside the home was just as impressive and unique / special in every way. The home was also well equipped with everything we’d ever need. In terms of location, it was perfect for our family. Everything was a short walk away, several great restaurants / cafe’s (2 min walk), beach / trails (5 min walk), and all the fun at / around the aquarium (15 min walk). We hope to stay again for our next trip to Monterey / Carmel!!

Sanctuary Vacation Rentals did a great job communicating and prepping us for our stay. The house is in a great location in PG blocks from the beach and downtown. Located on a small alley not really a street and situated facing two commercial buildings. Third floor is not a BR but more of a loft with very steep stairs. Not a lot of kitchen houseware very minimal regarding household necessities, limited pans, BBQ was a huge fire hazard with no drip pan grease dripping through onto foil almost catching on fire. Stairs to upstairs required you to remove your shoes to go upstairs. Loved the location but not sure I’d rent that house again.
