By far the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed. We love remote, connect with nature, peaceful locations and have stayed at many. Most you are fighting cobwebs on the porch, limited kitchen amenities, etc. Walking into Stoney Porch was like walking into a model home in a new neighborhood. Everything was immaculate, including the porches and the grill. The view across the creek, feeding of deer were all things we loved. While there is noise from the road when on the porch, in the cabin you are a million miles away. Normally we use a cabin as a center point and venture out to explore, but not the case this time. One trip to the Alamo and then soaked up the atmosphere the rest of our trip. I will be looking at another stay sooner than later. Highly recommend!!!

We stayed here after getting married in Bulverde at Lost Mission. Had a fantastic time at the wedding and this cabin gave us a nice little cozy spot to stay afterwards and have a nice relaxing evening with a nice relaxing morning the day after. If we ever need to stay in the area again we will definitely keep this spot in mind!

Our stay was amazing. The cabin is so unbelievably you really don’t want to leave. Kathi and Dan set you up with everything you need. I love the private parking for my new truck, 2 tv’s and an awesome back deck. This was our second trip and our favorite, we will be back.

Kathi and Dan had everything setup perfectly, easy check in. The cabin was secluded and was exactly as depicted online.

This is a great little cabin in a nice quite location. We had a nice ling weekend at the cabin.

My Sister-friend and I loved every little cozy warm and inviting aspect of this cabin hideaway. It was exactly what we needed after a 6 hour day of hard core hiking. Shampoo, condition and basic supplies are all furnished and for that, we were greatful. We were also thankful for hot coffee in the morning and that too was provided by the host. It's the little things that matter most. A nice relaxing wine greeted us in the clean fridge and we loved the idea of a progressive guest book and took the opportunity to read comments from days gone and track travelers from all over the US. The bed was super comfy and waking up to a view of misting rain through the tree scape with birds courting us with chirpy song is all it took for us to know . . . We shall return.

Kathi and Dan are wonderful hosts that give you a peaceful and secluded retreat not far from San Antonio proper. From the nightly deer visits to the back yard, to their recommendations for places to stop, we couldn’t be more happy with our visit. Thank you for your amazing Texas hospitality.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Stony Porch. Dan & Kathi have created a fantastic cabin in a lovely setting. We loved the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pasture below (especially with the fun surprise of a lot up tree!), bundled up and enjoyed a glass of wine from the “lookout,” and cooked ourselves a gourmet steak dinner in the well appointed kitchen. We loved being close to both San Antonio and Guadalupe River State Park. Dan & Kathi were communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

Me and my sister bought my parents a stay here as a Christmas present and they absolutely loved it! It was so cozy and they had a fabulous experience here!

Stoney Porch was absolutely beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed and the views from the cabin were beautiful. My husband and I were looking for a place to rest in the middle of a road trip around Texas, and this was the perfect location to do so. Kathi and Dan were great hosts, and very responsive and helpful! We hope to come back again for another perfect place to get away to!

Beautiful cabin close to Bulverde and New Braunfels but secluded from the world. large back porch overlooking a small medow where deer come and squirrels run about. the cabin itself is very cozy and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

Nice, quite place. Close enough to attractions, but nicely secluded and private. I will use this gem again.

It was an amazing little cabin, the cabin was clean, with all the amenities. We couldn’t use the fire pit, because of county burn ban. We had an amazing time shopping in the small neighboring towns. Saw some awesome Christmas lights

We had a wedding to go this weekend and wanted to get a quiet place for my husband and I. Lucky for us this quaint cabin was only a mile from the wedding. The cabin was wonderful for 2 people and communicating with the owners was a breeze. We would definitely come again if we are in the area. The only tiny complaint we had was the couch was a little small to sit and enjoy some tv.

Everything was great! Sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife was a plus. The owners were amazing and responded quickly to text messages.

We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one ranked amongst the best! Things that stood out: ease of check in, ease of check out—there was no long list of all the things that needed to be done and cleaned before leaving. (I often wonder what the cleaning fee was for when I had to clean everything before leaving) ease of communication with property owners, clean and comfortable accommodations, beautiful surroundings, all of the amenities needed for a 5 day stay and a sweet welcome gift!

Such an amazing place to stay for when you want to just be alone in a safe quiet area. My favorite parts were the deer feeding, and how cute the place was decorated! Definitely worth the price, can’t wait to come back when I want to get away from the exhausting city life.

What a spectacular place for my spouse and I to stay. When we entered the cabin, we were in awe. Our hosts are so sweet. We had to leave one day early due to some health issues. We enjoyed the view, the cabin, the cleanliness of the Cabin and the overall view etc. We will definitely be back.

Kathi and Dan stayed in touch through the whole stay, always checking in to make sure we were taken care of. The property was beautiful and so serene. It was so nice to be outside of city limits and enjoy nature. 10/10 recommend and will be sure to book again if ever in the area.

Beautiful place ::: pictures you see online don't do it justice.. my wife and I spent are anniversary there and had a real nice time.. if you like outdoors and porch time with a book and see red birds blue birds green little lizards crawling up the trees and so many deer.. (does/bucks).. outside gas grill was a hit for steaks and shrimp.. lights in the cabin dim low .. all the info you need as in where is all the attractions the will leave on the table for you.. just an all out great place to relax and enjoy life and your true other half... Trust me it's well worth it.. we will be back & my wife is telling everyone how lovely it is there.. The owners of the property and cabin are so nice, and they will go way over and beyond for you .. find out and reserve your stay, you will be glad you did..

Brilliant cabin. Fantastic location. If you’re outdoorsy at all, this is the prime location for San Antonio related trips. Close enough that the river walk and events “in town” are fun evening trips, but the proximity to a myriad of nature attractions is the real seller.

After our wedding we needed a quiet place to getaway from it all and Stoney Porch was absolutely perfect. Love the woody-cabin feel. Watching the deer from the amazing porch was my favorite. Love being surrounded by wilderness. Though it’s not far from everything you need and more. We ate so much delicious food in the area. Tejas Steakhouse was off the charts. Highly recommend.

Stony Porch was clean,well appointed and a most lovely place for a cozy intimate getaway. We enjoyed the restaurant recommendations and ate at The Branch and Screaming Goat Yard & Tap. Both were very good. The bottle of wine for our anniversary vacation was a nice touch (thank you Dan & Kathi).

Kathi and Dan were excellent hosts, keeping us up to date and well cared for. The Stoney Porch is a very cozy couples retreat, with outdoor seating areas for breakfast, snacks, or just enjoying the evening. The kitchen is well equipped and kept clean. The dimmable lights provide a romantic atmosphere. We highly recommend this spot for anniversaries or just to get away for the weekend.

This was our 2nd stay at the Stoney Porch for a little getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We arrived at about 3:00pm on June 25th to an immaculately clean cabin and a welcome bottle of wine in the fridge. Dan kept in touch with us throughout our stay making sure we had everything we needed and our stay was going well. We were able to easily access restaurants and activities in the local area visiting the Gristmill and Myron’s restaurants in Greune and New Braunfels for dinners and an afternoon visit to the Chapline Distillery for excellent bourbon drinks. The BEST part of the Stoney Porch is the peace and quiet and the wildlife. We enjoyed watching the animals come to the area around the feeders seeing numerous deer, raccoons, and birds. It’s amazing the wildlife you can see if you just take the time to sit still and quiet on the porch at different times of the day. I’ve seen deer, raccoons, armadillos, foxes, chameleons, various birds including a beautiful owl that perched in the tree right off the porch at nightfall. Stoney Porch is a WONDERFUL place to stay and we look forward to future visits!
